I agree. I was thinking the same thing. I will definitely get one... I always forget my bottle opener somewhere... easy to just call the dog :).

I think it's a good idea. Everybody wins. I get my beer opened and then the dog gets scritched behind the ears so he's happy. Plus, chicks dig dogs. Or so I've heard. I haven't actually had any female attention in quite some time. But that's the way things were back in my day.

Like I said: the guys get beer, the dog gets scritched, and the girls get something cute and cuddly around for them to dote on.

The cat thing wouldn't work out. Cat's would consider that type of work to be beneath them. They'd give you that cat look that says, "Screw you, Jack." Cats are perfect at this look. Any cat owner can tell you this. And you cannot count on a cat to come when you call. They might or they might not. It's up to them. That's how they kick it.

That's all my dog would do as well. In the summer she spends hours on end on her leash in the driveway looking for dogs walking by. Then she goes apeshiat. Whining and barking. In the winter she sits in a window and tears the hell out of the window sill when she sees a dog passing by. When I take her for walks and we encounter another dog she gets so excited that she has problems breathing. She doesn't bite or anything. She just wants to sniff the other dogs.

Serotonin LOVES playing with other dogs. When I take her on walks, the only time she forgets an pulls for a second is when she sees one of her favorite dog friends. After a correction, she's fine and watches me until we get up to the dog and I release her... but man is it tough for her to contain herself. until she sniffs the dog and can start the chase-me game. Before she's released she looks at me with her "I'm good, just let me go see the dog!" eyes and walks more awkwardly.

Of course they do. And that would be a double whammy for them. Cold beer, cute little pooch coming to open the beer and then show some nice doggy affection. The ladies couldn't possibly resist it. If you were the host of that party and the adorable dog belonged to you, you would be guaranteed that one of these girls would do the ol' linger around until everyone else has left bit and then strike up the, at first, very innocuous conversation. "I really liked your party. My name is Brandi [or whatever]". And after that, there would be sweet love makin'. It's about time my dog started earning his keep.

Well, it wouldn't be my first choice in dogs, but I found her and she is kind of loveable, albeit dumb as a rock. I found her a cold November rainy day while walking home from the el. She was running around on a very busy street in rush hour traffic so I picked her up and took her home for my daughter. I took out ads in the local papers, Craig's List, etc. looking for the real owner, but none turned up.

The karma thing is that the week before that I took my daughter to a rescue shelter to pick out a dog. We were deemed unfit to have a dog because my wife and I work full time and my daughter is in school. The thinking is that the dog would get lonely. Screw them. Would the dog be happier sleeping in the day in a loving home or being executed the next week? I am still mad about that.

Farks' so intelligent!

This would be a great idea if you didn't have a dog like mine, 14 years old, deaf, and all she does now is sleep, bark to eat, bark to go outside (and since she's deaf the bark is REALLY LOUD). My husband even thinks she acts more like a cat the older she's gotten. . .

Approves.

What about all those people who insist on putting leashes on their kids? I think they deserve attached beer openers, too!

My dog has had one of those little key chain bottle openers on his collar for about 3 years now.

Jeep dog!

Here is my wife's dog Esther when she was about 6 months old (taken about 2 months ago). I don't have any recent pics of her on my computer, but she is a good bit larger now.
