I don't get it... what is up with the recent rash of stories of criminals breaking in to homes to take showers.

I can't imagine an activity (other than sleeping) that makes you more likely to be caught burgling the place than taking off all your clothes and showering.

I'm surprised the homeowner the thief broke into wasn't arrested judging by how things are working out these days.

There is just no way, no reason, to break into someones home to rob stuff, and then stop to take a bath.

Who takes a bath anyway? You're just sitting in your own filth. You aren't even getting clean.

There is nothing as good as sitting in a hot bathtub, sipping a glass of wine, and thorougly enjoying the experience.

Don't get me wrong, that is good. I just can't see why people take a bath to get clean.

FTFA While en route, officers were advised the resident had left the house but the intruder remained inside.

Sounds like the guy was drunk and showed up pissed off. The resident left after arguing with the guy, but he stayed and hopped into the bath tub.

Anyway, it's easier for me to believe a drunk boyfriend/relative/friend kicking in a door than a burglar taking a bath after breaking and entering. The article is too short on details to come to any reasonable conclusion.

We covered the story. Actually the guy had the wrong house. The resident split out the back while the guy was trying to kick the door in.

The intruder thought it was his grandmother's house (that's what he told the cops, anyway).

Scary ...

Your mom? (I keed, I keed!)

But seriously, that's what I'm saying. Gross. Then you'd be sitting in soapy, dirty, fappy water.

Ugh ...

el wharrrgarblo: Of course, but when you rinse off the soap and dirt, it's all in the now dirty water you're sitting in.

Soap causes the dirt not to stick to you. It's not a difficult concept.

"Clean" is good enough. You don't have to get yourself operating-room sterile.

Well, a bath wastes more water, and I'm pretty sure soap doesn't magically make dirt not stick to you. In fact, I'd be pretty dirty when I used to come home from cutting lawn in the summer and the dirty water would certainly still be on me if I took a bath. The white towel my mom loved so much proved it. So, hate to burst your bubble, but a bath does not get you "clean". Acceptable, maybe, but not clean.

But different strokes for different folks.

Cheers :)

So how do you wash dishes? You can always rinse off using the shower after you bathe.

I am in no way being critical of law enforcement, but the backwards judicial system that has led us to value the lives of criminals more than their victims. I have faith law enforcement in most cases does their job properly, but past that point I have little faith justice will truly be served.

So how do you wash dishes? You can always rinse off using the shower after you bathe.

I do sometimes, but that wastes even more water.

For dishes, I use the wand that houses dish soap in the handle, I scrub the dishes, and then rinse them.

I sorta feel like the Mrs. Fix-it chick on Bay News 9...or 13, or whatever channel she is on.

Any other at home tips all of you would like to know? ;)

You don't do dishes properly. You should have a sink full of hot, soapy water to place dirty dishes in for scrubbing. Then you rinse them in a stream of hot water or another sink with water and vinegar/bleach to disinfect them.
