Damnit! That's right near my house and I'm going to be on vacation. Blast!

2003-03-31 12:33:20 PM
What can a dashing young lad like myself expect at such a gathering?

Being only 20 and all...and not so much of the dashing, more of the disgustingly obese.

I heard that the party was in my mouth and everyone was coming...

2003-03-31 12:37:39 PM
Lake City huh? Well, not to long of a drive at least.

2003-03-31 12:41:01 PM
I dunno dudes. I know a group of 10 people that quit their regular friday at Coopers cause "there wasnt enough room."
Won't have to worry about the under-21's, since its a bar.
Won't have to worry at all, come one come all.

Parking around the block up the street in front of the residential houses, not too packed in but you'll be walkin back a few blocks.

Nice choice. One pool table, 2 dart boards. Friendly staff.

At least 10 tables total if I remember right.

How many head count you got showing up?

2003-03-31 12:42:13 PM
So, it's not a "Seattle" Fark party in so much as a "somewhere around the vicinity of the seattle area, give or take" party?

/cool

Hey, invite the surfer-dude.
...and his wife.
...and the young couple from the abandoned Coast Guard Station.
They're all honorary farkers.

2003-03-31 12:47:45 PM
So close , but yet so far...

Damn thats a 2 and 1/2 hour bus ride from my pad. Have to figure out some alternative transportation.

2003-03-31 12:50:32 PM
well, out of all the options that were "discussed" in the last thread, this was what i feared the most. small bar with a pool table or two, great fun ~~~snooze~~~ i dont know who exactly is in charge of organizing this, but i hope they have something more in store for our beloved lord and master drew to enjoy in his tenure here in our great city.

2003-03-31 12:52:30 PM
I dont even remember Coopers being discussed, thats the funny thing. I would have noticed it since some friends of my GF hang out there, or did until the crowdedness issue. But they're just lame IT folks, not cool farkers that love a good packed smoky bar on a saturday night. I think theres even a regular darts tournament, so the regulars that normally take up 2/3 of the space will be out.

2003-03-31 12:54:49 PM
Hmmm......my idea of gathering at the Pyramid, which was enthusiastically endoresed by quite a few people was passed over for this?

I guess I'll buy a half rack of Alaskan Amber, and surf the internet in my underwear Saturday night instead....

2003-03-31 12:56:40 PM
I think they chose Lake City cuz Drew is visiting a friend in Bothell....we could always caravan to Leilani Lanes from there, which is pretty close.

2003-03-31 12:58:05 PM
mark me down as a definite "maybe"

2003-03-31 01:03:05 PM
obvoisly farkistan is not a democracy, i dont even remember seeing coopers mentioned once. I'm with you nostrafarkus, unless we can all agree that coopers with just be the launching pad for the real fun. sorry to break from the norm and all, but sitting in a crowded pub hoping i might get one poorly played game of pool in even with drews attendance does not sound like the most grand of times.

2003-03-31 01:04:07 PM
Lake City is still Seattle just not really Seattle Proper.

2003-03-31 01:06:23 PM
Well, I'm a bit surprised.

Lake City is a very strange way to see Seattle...but at least they'll have some micros worth trying...:)

The parking wouldn't be as bad as downtown...(I guess)...

2003-03-31 01:12:34 PM
Hey, after Bot-hell Lake City's a step up!
And you can buy a car right there in the same block.

Mark me down as a definite yes, this is so bad it'll be good.

2003-03-31 01:13:34 PM
Ooooo goodie! Lake City!

(wretch)

2003-03-31 01:22:23 PM
lake city is a wretched hive of scum and villany. any of the farkers want to take a walkie talkie with 'em so i can hover just outside of that foul neighborhood untill everyone decides to pick up and go someplace of worth?

2003-03-31 01:29:22 PM
*after mulleting it over*

Well, ya know...Lake City doesn't have the hype of downtown, Capitol Hill or the U-District, but is most likely the real Seattle Down'n'Dirty. No touristy experience here.

and Cooper's has 26 regional beers, y'all!

Let's party!

2003-03-31 01:35:45 PM
Lake City is actually a decent jump off point for anywhere in Seattle. Plus if Drew wants to continue to head towards B-Hell then we could stop at the Lake Pointe Bar and Grill then maybe Kenmore Lanes. Or the Farkers could continue South.

Playing at Lake Pointe (was the Lake Forest Inn)

Saturday April 5, 2003
The Lakepointe Welcomes
11:30 - 12:30 KINGPIN HAYES
10:30 - 11:15 ELLEN SAYS NO
9:30 - 10:15 SOLE MOXIE

I believe I suggested Cooper's in the suggestion thread. I am so proud of me.

Cooper's is one of my favorite places to go in Seattle. I cannot vouch for the owner being a farker, but he is a friend of a friend. His name is Kirby, a good guy. Do have fun without me, as I no longer live in Seattle.

2003-03-31 01:42:11 PM
ugh. Why don't we stop by Cadillac Jack's while we're there? My brother was actually AT the place when the guy from 570bars.com came by to review it is the sad thing! (It's on the 10 worst list) Hell, why stop at Lake City? What about Lynwood, Bothell, or Mukleteo? No thanks, I think I'll pass. Actually I have never been to coopers so I don't know... it could be ok, but as far as OTHER shiat to do around there???? Zero.

2003-03-31 01:42:55 PM
yeah, we'll have fun...without you...great...uh...suggestion, btw

*kicks Ammbo down a long up escalator*

2003-03-31 01:43:39 PM
any farkettes?

2003-03-31 01:44:18 PM
And Cooper's is on the far south, less scary part of Lake City Way. Very easy access from I-5. That is why I suggested it. It is also, in my humble opinion, a very "Seattle-ish" place. i cannot stress enough how much I HIGHLY recommend Mac and Jack's African Amber. Best. Beer. Ever. And unavailable outside of bars in the Northwest, I believe.

2003-03-31 01:52:47 PM
If we were looking for a dive there's all sorts of joints more central in Seattle. And here I was thinking that it was going to be at a roomy good brewpub like the Pyramid or the Elysian.

2003-03-31 01:54:37 PM
Not the best bar, but in close proximity of Rick's...

2003-03-31 01:54:42 PM
03-31-03 01:43:39 PM Farkthisplace
any farkettes?

I tend to stay as far away from Lake City as humanly possible.

2003-03-31 01:58:56 PM
lets go someplace that isnt located on one of washingtons classic "never ending strip malls", that would be nice. well, it could be worse, someone could have suggested going to a tavern on 100th and aurora. at least we can still pick up some good crack ho's up on lake city.

2003-03-31 02:00:18 PM
hey...at least they didn't choose White Center. They've got their own brand of hotties down there ;)

2003-03-31 02:02:13 PM
I'd be there but I don't wanna miss my turn in the iron lung. It's my only time to be completely lazy.

2003-03-31 02:10:02 PM
ROFLMAO!

Hey, don't give em any more ideas, Suitep ...;)

2003-03-31 02:12:39 PM
Woof, Lake City was not a good choice. The only redeeming quality is Rick's, and there's not even any booze there. The extreme lameness of this choice (and the non-democratic way it was chosen) will keep many a person away.

2003-03-31 02:17:09 PM
Technically, Coopers is not really in Lake City--it's just on Lake City Way. It's kinda between Maple Leaf and Ravena.

2003-03-31 02:22:26 PM
All the more reason to show up. Whining trendies from Capitol Hill won't be there.

Good ol flannel wearin gut hangin beer drinkin Seattle, in the middle of used car lots down a road in a hole in the wall, with smoke caked on the walls and a dude with tats down both arms slinging beers. I think they have dead animals on the wall. Wood paneling and a checker tile floor.

Capacity about 45. Most of whom could be found in the phone book under "Bar Fixtures"

LOL Suitep that chick looks pretty good the tongue almost reaches the beer.

2003-03-31 02:24:34 PM
My guess is that we had to look for a place that was already so screwed up that nobody would notice the mess left behind by dozens of Farkers...hence Lake City.

2003-03-31 02:30:13 PM
And, it's within stumbling distance of the Reservoir Tavern.

Coopers and the Res in one night...Now that's a twofer.

2003-03-31 02:31:15 PM
Skleenar is right. Cooper's is as un-Lake City as a Lake City Way address can be.

2003-03-31 02:32:01 PM
through my job, my government and my internet hangout i have realized my destiny is to sow the seeds of dissent wherever i go. sometimes its just made to easy for me though. thank you coopers ale house

2003-03-31 02:39:19 PM
Call me trendy or whatever Generation D, but my idea of a good time at a packed bar includes me pressed up against some scantily clad bimbo, not a fat dude that smells of his own urine. Then again, I'm not a techie, so that might explain things.

2003-03-31 02:46:37 PM
as long as those are rolling papers in her hair, I'm a happy camper ;)

2003-03-31 02:47:46 PM
Why not do it at Jillians? It is very roomy and is very far away from Lake City :)

2003-03-31 02:53:46 PM
or how about two Fark party drinking night things? one for the lake shiatty way crowd and one for everybody else?

2003-03-31 02:55:52 PM
This farkette turns 21 the day before... And why not at Jillian's? I know a couple of under - 21's that want to attend.

2003-03-31 02:56:19 PM
It's so funny to me that the Portland party is at El Gaucho's...and ours is in Lake City.

Such a cruel injustice!! :)

2003-03-31 02:58:43 PM
The damn link's been loading for half an hour. Can someone post the details here?

2003-03-31 03:02:30 PM
I knew that eventually someone would be lame enough to suggest that wretched yuppie shiathole Jillians. The only thing it has goin for it is the AZN kid's girlfriends. Coopers wouldn't have been my first choice but at least it has some character.

2003-03-31 03:05:46 PM
Theslowblade

Want me to bring records and then the "cool kids" proceed from
the bar and have that party at your pad you discussed before?

2003-03-31 03:07:50 PM
but will we see farketter breasts?
