The only time I've had some guy buy me a beer, I sent it back after he told me I should get the Medal of Honor just for putting up with all the ni**ers in the Army.

This Melanin-American thanks you for honoring the best of basic human decency, and thereby doing your uniform and your country proud yet again.

Agreed. It really seems more like a Bronze or Silver Star.

This does not apply to all female veterans, but if you were ugly before you went into the military, you are probably still ugly. During your deployment, you were one of very few females in an area with very high demand, but don't expect improvement on that treatment when you go back to the real world.

True story:

After talking to a recruiter, a girl went into the Army straight out of high school and eventually got deployed to Iraq. On the very last day of her tour, she discovered that she and two other female soldiers were put on, on the wings of a dove, on the wings of a dove! Madness FTW!

So that goes to show that you can't always trust someone not to screw you over after wasting your time on something they suckered you into, especially if they are an idiot.

/As a male veteran I felt the need to FTFM.

My wife said that when she was up in Providence, RI, they were buying her free drinks and bratwursts all the time. I think it all depends on where you are.

Here in Norfolk, VA, we are the quintessential military town. We might, maybe, if we're lucky, get a 10% discount for military around here. We go back to Michigan, we show the military ID, people are bending over backwards to give us free stuff.

Does that have to do with you being in the military, or being a woman? Because a woman, unless she is a complete hog beast, can usually get guys to pay for their drinks with little more than a hair flip.

I don't think it's possible to debase their gender role any more than that.

And this is why women shouldn't be allowed in combat. You want to be a nurse, mechanic, file papers, that's fine but absolutely no combat. Women are too emotional and can't hack it.
