I've always wondered if those things would shoot a real 12 guage cartridge. Bird shot might he fun. I dunno if 00 would blow your hand off, per se. I'm sure at least a few strands of skin and cartilage would keep it kind of connected. Slugs would be trouble, and one might have actually suited homeboy's purpose. but that'd be a real wrist breaker, fo sho.
