LOL. They initially thought she might be a member of the "Tea Party" but later realized that was due some unfortunate wording in the police report.

WoooHooo...click on the pic for a slideshow. Thanks Denver cops, my bunk, etc.

This story reminds me of the Andrew Luster case. I hope the guy dies in prison.

Gah, she looks like she's 15.

I've gotta say, even flirting with a 19 year old makes me kinda uncomfortable at 30. They're just so .... well stupid really.

Not Available: That headline could be improved with some punctuation.

It is a long sentence, but I believe the only punctuation missing is a comma before "but". Its not that hard to read.

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorence on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing is frowned upon... you know, cause I've finger-banged a lot of sleeping chicks, and I tell you, people do that all the time.

Martinez victimized her only once (that we know of). The police and media are victimizing her every time somebody (like us) sees that stomach-turning pic.

In all the hysteria to show the faces of every woman Tiger Woods has done, maybe the media forgot the difference between celeb-banging ho-bags and unconscious women used by a creep with a camera as his personal spooge dumpster.

Just sayin'...

Don't worry though. Once they identify her they'll be sure to redact her name from all reports and media stories to protect her identity.

According to court records, police believe 32-year-old Timothy Layne Martinez sexually assaulted two women while they were asleep or in some "altered state" -- possibly from drugs or alcohol.

You didn't necessarily remember it, but you may have been slipped roofies and farked if you look like this. We at the Florida PD want to talk to you about that.

WTF? And when will this be on Law and Order, Sexual Assault Unit?

That's the same B.S. "logic" that the misandrist victimisation industry used to prevent cops from vigorously interviewing alleged rape "victims" when they reported their crimes and/or at trial.

Ho many innocent men are in prison now as a result?

It seems near to every other day that there's a story here on Fark or elsewhere about rape allegations being determined to be fabricated from whole cloth now that cops are finally finally finally starting to look at alleged rape "victims" statements as they would with those of any other crime and, you know, not accepting them as the gospel truth merely because they were uttered . . .

It's not illegal for media outlets to publish the names, pictures, etc. of rape victims. They usually don't as a matter of convention (and tact), so yeah. It's just dumb and tasteless, but not illegal.

Here ya go, Smitty (with bonus Fark meme):

After finding video of an unknown woman in the home of a man charged with videotaping his sexual assualt victims, Denver cops want to interview her. But how do they find her? (C) Release her picture to the media

More common than you think. Just google "sleeping" with safe-search off.

I have seven greens? I didn't realize it was that many. I've only ever submitted about 25 or 30 headlines to Fark.

I suppose you have a point if the goal is getting a headline approved. Personally, I was going for readability and basic, grade-school sentence-structure.

Nobody's saying police shouldn't investigate accusations thoroughly, and this isn't about that. This is about media outlets agreeing to publish a picture of a sexual assault victim without her knowledge or consent! Not only is she victimized again, but lots of uninvolved women who resemble her who are going to have to deal with people's questions and assumptions until the real victim is named. What's next, publishing pictures of children's faces cropped from child porn, because if putting this woman's picture out there is good, logically it's just as good for child porn cases. Imagine you've been molested then on top of it you have bullies at school snickering "porn star" as you walk down the hall. Don't give me crap about removing the stigma of victimization by pushing them into the daylight. People should have a right not to have crimes against them compounded by societal voyeurism.

I'm still trying to figure out what's with the outrage here. This isn't the first time Law Enforcement or the media have done this. Considering that they don't know who the person is, this seems like an appropriate step (for those who do not remember, the "Disney Girl" case did the same thing; to be fair that case was an obvious exploitation of a minor / CP situation, but still the FBI needed to make sure the victim was safe, which required a similar act).

/the tech used for that case was very impressive at the time and allowed for an otherwise unidentifiable victim (via pixelation and sound modification) to be readily identified.

//is a forensics geek
