"Please know the boys and I are doing well and are blessed with the incredible support of friends and family and bolstered by our faith and the unfailing love of our God above."

As opposed to the failing love of the Governor?

Didn't Governor AWOL say at one point that he'd step down if he couldn't patch things up with the Mrs.?

2009-12-11 10:53:22 AM
Too bad she's fugly.

2009-12-11 11:09:59 AM
Did she take a hike?

2009-12-11 11:11:06 AM
FTFA: In a statement, Jenny Sandford [sic] said:

"As so many of us know, the dissolution of any marriage is a sad and painful process."

She went on to add "There's only so many times I can listen to him say 'You big dummy.'"

His marriage: Officially fail,
From hikes on a fictional trail.
He's finally facing
The wages of chasing
So much Argentinian tail.

oldebayer: Did she take a hike?

Hiking on the Imaleavinhim Trail, no doubt

Oh, this is the biggest one I ever had. You hear that Elizabeth? I'm coming to join you honey.

/What about Lamont? Is he ok?

2009-12-11 11:50:25 AM
I'm under the impression that Gov. Sanford's been missing from that marriage for awhile.

2009-12-11 11:50:35 AM
She's a pretty woman. Shame.

2009-12-11 11:50:37 AM
I do not know what took her so long.

2009-12-11 11:51:32 AM
So you're saying she's single?

Great! A Republican Hillary Clinton!

2009-12-11 11:52:48 AM
Well the Govenor was absent from his public office and her private orfice.

2009-12-11 11:53:44 AM
So he really ISN'T coming for Elizabeth?

/oops, wrong Sanford.

2009-12-11 11:55:16 AM
Lady, I hate to break it to you but the reason he cheated was because there was something he wasn't getting at home that he had to get someplace else.

2009-12-11 11:57:20 AM
If my husband called somebody else his soul-mate on national TV, I wouldn't have stuck around this long.

Gorram bastard.

I don't know, she's pretty good looking in a MILF kind of way... I sure wouldn't mind hiking her Appalachian Trail.

FTFA - Jenny Sanford's announcement came after a week of wrenching twists in her relationship with the governor. A legislative panel rebuked him for his conduct, he told reporters he still wanted to reconcile with his wife, and she said in a television interview that it was a simple decision to not stand with him as he publicly confessed the affair.

Probably made easier still by Sanford's repeated and public declarations of love for the other woman. Seriously, some of the blather that made it's way to television sounded like it should've come from a besotted high school boy. My favorite moment was when a minister said Sanford should be more "prayerful" and Jon Stewart said that was "Episcopalian for 'Shut the fark up.'"

About time. It's always creepy in this Promise Keeper, The Family way to see a wife obediently standing by her philandering husband. , In this case especially considering she's the one with that brought the big money and connections to the family and had nothing to gain by sticking it out

2009-12-11 12:03:38 PM
I'm sure Gov. Sanford isn't hurting too much. He gets to go live in South American with his hot Argentinian soul mate, instead of with his frigid wife in South Carolina. I'm sure he'll get over it.

2009-12-11 12:04:55 PM
I'm still not buying into any of this. There's no way a Republican social-values guy could have an affair with a woman. Dominican boy, maybe. But a woman?!?

Didn't Governor AWOL say at one point that he'd step down if he couldn't patch things up with the Mrs.?

Yes he did, but what are you, nuts? She wasn't supposed to leave him, she was supposed to do the usual political wife schtick and stand by him. Evidently he forgot that she was a smart, successful, and WEALTHY business person before they married.

Thank you, I came in here for a Sanford and Son reference and I am happy now.

Whew, good things teh gheys can't get married. It might ruin the sanctity of marriage.

2009-12-11 12:11:16 PM
That old hag should know her place and stand by her husband. Men have natural urges that we can't control, it's the reason why we want to get married in the first place. So, if you don't understand that might as well never have gotten married.

This.
Maybe if you had lots of plastic surgeory, fake tits, nails, etc he wouldn't have cheated. She is beautiful and looks as if she is aging well.
You JWP have just outed yourself for being shallow and unrealistic.

As Fark's resident Episcopalian, I can vouch for this interpretation.

How can a dude be so stupid. His "soul mate"? Are you farking kidding me? Does he not think that after a few years with her, after smelling her craps, her getting headaches when he wants a little poontang, seeing her in the morning before she puts on her face won't turn her into a just a woman he chose to live his life with? Just like his present wife. Man, do not let your dick make life decisions for you.

Britney Spear's Speculum: Whew, good things teh gheys can't get married. It might ruin the sanctity of marriage.

Dammit - forty-two seconds.
As God is my witness, I will never proofread anything again.

I would be more hurt if my husband did what Sanford did than if he did what Tiger Woods did. Tiger used those women as a cheap thrill - like booze or junk food. and the sheer number of them makes it clear it meant nothing but sex. But reading a letter in which my husband called another woman his 'soulmate'. No way I could reconcile the relationship after that.

2009-12-11 12:17:07 PM
I gotta admit I kind of admired her for trying to fix her marriage, but after I read that they'd already BEEN in counseling for his philandering before the whole Argentinian saga, I was like "HONEY PACK YOUR BAGS. What the hell are you waiting for?"

2009-12-11 12:17:43 PM
Good for her. I applaud her attempt at a graceful end too. She had hope, and when he proved to be a dumbass to the core, she walked away.

The "Republican Hillary" thing may work. I haven't dug into her own political reputation, but she sounds like a viable, credible option to Sarah Bailin'.

The white frame of mind that encourages successful white men to cheat on their wives with exotic minorities is just terrible.

It just goes to show some people have no idea what honor, duty and pride mean.

Well, at least 2 of those 3.

A piece of asparagus is a credible option to Sarah Palin.

So then you get a divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences or something, or a mutual divoce, or go the other way and have an open marriage. Be honest about it, but you don't go fark some whore in Argentina.
