Reminder: your ass is in JAIL.

But inside, it's dropped in the male.

FTFA: "I don't object to us paying for life-threatening surgery if required but I'll be stuffed if we should be paying because his waterworks are having problems."

I love this quote.

"an on table erection test is usually done for investigations of penile curvature or other disorders related to penile erectile dysfunctions,

And...I'm as much in the dark as before I read the article. WTF is an "on table erection test" and how/why is it any different from an "off table erection test"? And also, why do we care if prisoners have penile curvature, on OR off table?

TsarTom: To be fair, he does have a lot of free time in his hands.

He also may have a case for proving the charges wrong -- if it doesn't "stand up" in the doctor's office, there's a good question about it "standing up" for any other use or abuse. He may just have a very good lawyer at work here.

FTFA: "This is not life-threatening. This bloke should have been a candidate for chemical castration while he was in [theatre]."

Good god, man! They castrate you in the theater now? I mean, I know you need to be a little gay to enjoy some of those musical numbers, but castration is a bit extreme.

Not too hardened if he needs treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Wtf, in the UK they only get 3 years for a rape? That seems like a bigger problem than some guy's erection.

Deal with it. TFA: "the department does not take offending history into consideration when providing health services." That is the correct position for government to take. Suffering from untreated medical problems while in custody is not part of the sentence and the state is responsible for the health of people in custody who are not free to seek treatment on their own.

The problem in this case is the violation of medical privacy and whoever leaked the story should be prosecuted. Nobody should be outraged, because nobody should be hearing about it!

You don't set policy based on the worst person who might benefit. There are unrepentant scumbags in prison. There are people in the same system for lessor crimes and people who are going to be found innocent on appeal. The system treats them equally.
