Hey, Leonard, your website does NOT suck at all. But the Red Wings do. Ha! Go Avs!

/end good natured ribbing

2003-03-30 12:21:05 PM
That was painful to watch. I find it amusing that all the Irish here thought it would be an even-handed match...

It was a rape.

2003-03-30 12:23:26 PM
Well done England. Now for the World Cup...

2003-03-30 12:41:02 PM
A deserved man of the match for Jonny Wilkinson too.
He's got to be the best all round fly-half in the world at the moment.

And England have just beaten New Zealand to win the Hong Kong Sevens too!!

Wait, there's more. England beat Liechtenstein 2-0 in soccers European Championship qualifier last night.

What the hell am I doing sat at a computer? I'm off to the pub. This series of wins may never happen again in English sport!!!

2003-03-30 12:42:43 PM
Rugby is a game for girls. I hope this cures Leonard's raging thirst:

2003-03-30 12:44:59 PM
The Irish have fought British oppression for 800 years, and we will continue to fight until Ireland is a free Nation once again and takes the Grand Slam in the 6 Nations!!!

The plucky Irish were no match for the rampaging English invaders

WOO HOO

Absolutely superb. England for the Rugby World Cup.

"Wait, there's more. England beat Liechtenstein 2-0 in soccers European Championship qualifier last night... I'm off to the pub"

It's certainly time to start drinking when a 2-0 win over Liechtenstein is a cause for celebration.

They should sign this guy up for the next match:

"If I risk my neck for you, will I get a chance to kill Englishmen?"
"Aye."
"Excellent!"

He wasn't right...in the head.

2003-03-30 01:25:12 PM
What...kinda sport is that?

2003-03-30 01:26:49 PM
Well done England!

And naked-man - it's *kinda* like American Football except without the girly padding and helmets

Jon.

2003-03-30 01:30:11 PM
england..world cup.... I got two words " All Blacks"

2003-03-30 01:32:08 PM
This man is not amused...

2003-03-30 01:40:29 PM
wtf was up with Martin Johnson refusing to move to the other side of the red carpet? Bloody idiot.

And for all you "what's rugby" people:
It's like Grid Iron, but with no armour,
no "Spot kickers" or 40-man squads, blood,
sweat and some actual content.

Oh, and the game lasts 40 mins each half, not
3mins each commercial break.

Uber
(Really more angry about the fact that 1948 was still our last grand-slam)

2003-03-30 01:43:37 PM
"Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum..... I smell the blood of an Irishman"...

I'm torn, half Irish, half British. I cheer, yet duck for cover.

2003-03-30 01:59:18 PM
What the hell sport is this about?

2003-03-30 02:01:46 PM

2003-03-30 02:06:33 PM

2003-03-30 02:15:10 PM
TsarDony....
Not quite sure.... :?
Thinking of a bizzare mixture of Bailey's and Earl Grey.
I'm going to grab a Guiness after I finish my cup of tea.

2003-03-30 02:20:35 PM
Awesome! Ireland fought a great campaign, though.

Hi !!!

(I guess you can tell who I am rooting for in the world cup)

2003-03-30 02:43:27 PM
I note Australia wasn't in the tournament.

Best side in the world my arse...

Wallabies will crush them...

2003-03-30 02:50:34 PM
Who cares?

The cricket world cup has finished now, and India reached the final and beat Pakistan. All is fine now!

2003-03-30 03:02:50 PM
Why do people continually put up these stupid "sports" that only Third World countries like India, Pakistan and England likes?

We don't farking care about rugby, cricket, and all of that other silly nonsense.

2003-03-30 03:04:06 PM
Jello_Biafra...I was flipping through the sports channels and Fox Sports NW is showing a high school dancing competition. Suddenly, I don't feel like biatching about rugby coverage on fark...

2003-03-30 03:15:34 PM
The yanks who i've got to watch rugby have found it way more interesting than American Football, which isn't surprising, because it is.

2003-03-30 03:18:46 PM
Jello_Biafra you are sadly mistaken. Your comment should read...

"Why do us American's play shiatty rip-off versions of other sports?"

and...

"Don't you think its a coincidence that we are the only country in the world to actually like American Football, Baseball and Basketball"

:0P

2003-03-30 03:21:03 PM
Umm, the US being the only country in the world to love baseball? Take a look in the Caribbean, South America, China, etc.

2003-03-30 03:21:43 PM
Meant Japan, not China. Opening day. Brain no work today.

2003-03-30 03:22:22 PM
Mboosey - right on.

2003-03-30 03:22:44 PM
Although I believe China is starting their own professional league. So I guess they count.

2003-03-30 03:26:20 PM
And I just have to ask, have you ever watched a 5-day cricket test?

Some of us aren't independantly wealthy enough to watch, or play, a game that can go on for nearly a week.

2003-03-30 03:28:02 PM
Anyone ever seen Gaelic Football? Pretty cool sport.

2003-03-30 03:35:58 PM
try hurling as well KazamaSmokers or for the same style of game but with more psychotics per team - shinty

2003-03-30 03:39:26 PM
Yes, hurling... my cousin has broken all ten of his fingers playing that one.

2003-03-30 03:40:18 PM
Like I said last night, MousePotato.

2003-03-30 03:50:48 PM
Ive always wanted to try Gaelic football or aussie rules football for now I got to be content with Rugby.

2003-03-30 04:09:04 PM
Eh, Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, and Michael Strahan would eat those rugby players for lunch!

2003-03-30 04:39:24 PM
You have to laugh when UK people knock American football. The only reason they wear the helmets and pads is because so many guys got killed playing the sport.

2003-03-30 04:42:09 PM
When I watch a sport, I want to see skill, power, flair, counter-attacking, speed, slick moves and excitment.

ie football (or "soccer")

Rugby is kinda boring, American football too, baseball is corny. Basketball is enjoyable though.

2003-03-30 04:56:28 PM
basketball is pretty popular in parts of europe, is it not? and of course, we mustn't forget our good friend yao ming.

2003-03-30 04:58:11 PM
Anyone who thinks American Football is tougher than rugby, has never been on the wrong side of a ruck.

England have no chance in the world cup. Go the mighty Blacks. If we could only steal a couple of those Fijian wingers .....

2003-03-30 05:14:48 PM
to plagiarise Gil Grissom (the font of all) - team sports are just instant moralism. A group of people, all knowing the rules and have to stick to them and one side gets to win, one side gets to lose. Its all very basic and boring. Now, snooker, thats a sport.....

2003-03-30 06:30:40 PM
Sidi

Its not about watching the whole game, its about which team comes out stronger in the end and wins it. Its about strategy

2003-03-30 06:54:34 PM
Bummer.

I miss the Auld Country...

:(

Mr Mephisto

2003-03-30 07:10:20 PM
dammit.
