Yeah, China is pretty into international commerce these days, and it knows that NK is bad for business. Watch this space for another victory due to capitalism.

2003-03-29 02:06:48 PM
This is why we have largely ignored North Korea lately. China will not stand for North Korea threatening stability in the Far East. China craves stability, China and the US get along okay, China likes that, and if NK screws that up, China will pound them into mush.

2003-03-29 02:33:37 PM
But will China Stand up for south korea? If it comes to it the USA might. Guess we will see.

2003-03-29 02:35:12 PM
"China fought side by side with the North against the United States in the Korean War"

Ummmmm, actually that should read 'against the United NATIONS'.

2003-03-29 02:36:55 PM
Chinese people are nice

2003-03-29 02:37:00 PM
Good. It's about time they did something.

2003-03-29 02:37:20 PM
If North Korea is going to attack us, now is the best time to do it.

2003-03-29 02:38:50 PM
"I thought you were cool China."
"China still cool!"

2003-03-29 02:39:02 PM
koreans eat dog, right?

i could so go for some sauteed puppy legs in fermented squid eye juice.

2003-03-29 02:40:16 PM
Nah, they would be better off attacking when our troops are available. Without those 200-400k troops available we'll just have to start chucking nukes at em.

2003-03-29 02:40:56 PM
Yay, communist China... wait a minute.

/Apocolypse imminent

2003-03-29 02:44:46 PM
Yeah, so, China has gotten around to muscling NK in line, like they said they would, a chemical weapons factory has been found in Iraq and the invasion is going well, and it's looking like Halliburton has been denied the rights to Iraqi oil, although they might still be able to get at it.

It's all comin' up Right lately.

2003-03-29 02:44:46 PM
I was waiting for that.

2003-03-29 02:46:59 PM
About Friggin Time!!

2003-03-29 02:47:06 PM
It's about damn time they're doing something.

2003-03-29 02:47:15 PM
China is communist insofar as its totalitarian nature keeps the powers that be in power. The problem with communism always has been, and always will be, that it has been implemented by people. Self-interest will always overrule "the greater good".

2003-03-29 02:47:49 PM
China is very clever, notice how theyre so quiet during this whole time of madness.

2003-03-29 02:55:05 PM
We better win this farking war quick. If we don't we're screwed. We'll be like the bully in those after school movies who goes home crying at the end, biatch-slapped by the little geek.

2003-03-29 02:55:14 PM
it's about time china did something.
on a side note my profile says no articles posted did i get ripped off or do you have to be on total fark for that to show. i had two articles posted and that is not easy dangit!

2003-03-29 02:57:46 PM
I would give anything if that were a real diplomatic message. When I'm president...

2003-03-29 02:58:43 PM
Already sites like jang-group.com are talking about the "valiant iraqi resistance" .

USA should hurry up and end this crappy war...

2003-03-29 02:58:52 PM
And since the N. Korean's are a bit smarter, militarily speaking, they would probably realize the current war, that may be protracted to 3-6 months, hell, even a year, is still a pretty incredible feat.

How many other countries can travel to the other side of the world with a 400k troop army, 1300 planes, who knows how many tanks helicopters, etc.? Oh yeah, move all that and invade and run over a completely hostile country (whose army is playing dirty) and pick and choose their targets so we don't kill too many civilians (cause we can).

They gotta realize we clean our our arsenol every 10 years or so cause we just developed some new kick ass weapon's and we just needed the space.

"I thought you were cool China."
"China still cool!"

Hit the nail on the head. Made me laugh too.

2003-03-29 03:00:20 PM
The only thing keeping China an official Communist state is that they only have one party. Prices are set by private enterprise, people own their own land, and - at least at the local level - citizens participate in free and fair elections. They're democratic capitalists in disguise.

2003-03-29 03:00:38 PM
N. Korea is just an insignificant blowhard. Even China is backing away form thgem in favor of good US relations... With borders with China and Russia, and the divine right the US sees in its meddling in affairs worldwide, the North Koreans will be kept in check.

I like chineese....
they come from a long way overseas....
but they're cute, and they're cuddly and they're ready to please...

It's one thing to warn them, but quite another to cut off the oil with a warning at the same time.

China Hello North Korea?...Can you hear me? Stop stirring the pot with the USA. Put you're guns away or we'll put 'em away for you.

IMHO = Too cool.

"China fought side by side with the North against the United States in the Korean War"

Ummmmm, actually that should read 'against the United NATIONS'.

It should be noted that China entered the war on Christmas day, during a holiday cease-fire.

For all practical purposes, they were fighting the US. I seem to recall that Canada and Mexico send some personnel, but the vast majority of the forces were American.

If you want someone's attention, don't hit them in the nose. Squeeze their wallet.

Desertfoxg: a chemical weapons factory has been found in Iraq

Where did you hear this? Do share.

2003-03-29 03:08:09 PM
Did China not attack the Uno'th Mexican Cavalry during siesta? Bastards.

2003-03-29 03:09:13 PM
Spiku N. Korea is a VERY significant blowhard in that they are nuculear capable. :}

Eric Idle Moment there VYV!

Great Song

2003-03-29 03:12:46 PM
Dunno, Jalapeno...
They're meddling with the three most powerful countries in the world, and the Chinese clearly aren't going to back that whole anti-American deal.
Kim Jon Il(sp) may be kinda crazy, but really, there's no way he can see doing anything as a wise move.

2003-03-29 03:12:47 PM
I served in Military Intelligence in Korea ('82-'83), and the word was that if Kim Jong Il took the reins when the old man died, China would withdraw its support of North Korea.

Obviously they didn't, but they know the man is a nutcase, and are quite leery of him.

2003-03-29 03:12:52 PM
VYV,

You forgot "They only come up to your knees"

2003-03-29 03:12:53 PM
Rob4127

Actually, a great number of nations sent substantial forces to Korea. See www.korean-war.com.

Regardless, don't you see the significance of the US forces that were there acting under the UN flag, with a UN mandate, as a part of a larger UN force?

2003-03-29 03:14:52 PM
China's not as bad as I thought. I think it's about time someone close to NK put 'em in their place.

2003-03-29 03:15:27 PM
Send in Alan Alda and B.J. from M*A*S*H. They will win them over with hilarity!

2003-03-29 03:16:58 PM
Good headrine!

Also, Halpas, you're damn funny.

2003-03-29 03:17:33 PM
That was really smart of China.

Trying to quell the problem with North Korea while there war right now. Hopefully if NK does create a problem China could take care of it and not the US again.

2003-03-29 03:18:13 PM
Collywobbles-I see the significance IF you mean 'see, we went in with UN approval, UN flag flying over our troops, etc and all we got from it was a 50 year waiting period before that country is a trouble spot again.

Should've stayed there and finished the job. (China's fault)

2003-03-29 03:18:54 PM
I'm just glad that the Soviets didn't veto the Korean War. They boycotted the vote in protest, a mistake they wouldn't make again. Damn Russians. Shoulda nuked those filthy bastards when we had the chance.

If they were to nuke Vladivostok, the Russians would be all over them. They have a vested interest as well.

2003-03-29 03:24:28 PM
Chinese missiles sold to Iraq. China kissin ass to US? Probly just a coincidence...

2003-03-29 03:25:59 PM
Spiku:

I think you're right. The NK will be kept in check by China. Even though they are Communist, they're making a TON of money through free trade and "Most Favored Nation" status. Money says a lot in todays world.

Spiku says; Kim Jon Il(sp) may be kinda crazy, but really, there's no way he can see doing anything as a wise move.

If he can't see doing anything as a wise move then he should do what China says and S.T.F.U.

2003-03-29 03:27:26 PM
No, they've been kissing our asses for a while now, SharkUW. Those missiles are crappy, anyway.
