To be fair, his eyes were half-shut to begin with.

I came here to post this. Damn being a liter.

He didn't seem to have a problem driving like this, maybe it was the sunglasses:

What really confuses me is that he went to all that effort to stick cardboard there when he was only going to stick his head out the window anyway. Buy goggles and wrap a spare shirt around your head if you're that desperate, wtf.

ROR

Just drove MrS to the commuter train in 15 degree weather.

/didn't get a kick out of it

Now that's a work ethic. Meanwhile, my employees want to leave early when the weather forecast mentions the possibility of rain, and take hour-long trips to Kroger when we run out of coffee filters.

I didn't RTFA but how exactly do you freeze your eyes if you're still alive?

I used to go running, sometimes in really cold and windy conditions, like below zero. My eyes were exposed, every other part of my face is covered and the closest thing I came to freezing my eyes were my eye lashes freezing. Too much warmth for them to freezing even with wind blasting into your eyes causing windchill of -20.

2009-12-09 10:27:14 AM
In America, it's hard to be that stupid without meth.

2009-12-09 10:28:09 AM
This guy doesnt sound particularly intelligent, couldn't you cut a hole in the cardboard and wear glasses? Would keep you from freezing at least.

After RTFA, I must conclude that the guy is a complete dumbass and deserves to be arrested.
What a loser. He is willing to drive that far for someone else, but doesn't make sure his own needs (windshield) are met?

What can brown windshield do for you?

2009-12-09 10:43:28 AM
I have a question, why put the cardboard up?

If you are going to go open air to navigate anyway, just leave the cardboard off, seems like a waste of time.

I love how the windshield whipers are still there.

That cardboard can be a biatch to see through if its raining heavy and you have no whipers.

Oh shoot. Your windshield is all busted and junk.

AbbeySomeone: He is willing to drive that far for someone else, but doesn't make sure his own needs (windshield) are met?

Yeah, this seems odd. He pushed himself so hard that he turned his head blue and froze his eye. I can only envision myself taking such physical punishment when the alternative would be worse. Are Chinese truckers jailed (or worse) for late deliveries due to mechanical problems outside their control? Is life in China really that terrible?

Completely un-shocking for anyone who has visited mainland China. Just remember, in 10 years China will dominate the world economy like the finance page idiots keep telling us. And 20 years ago they said the same thing about Japan.

cold story, bro

my dad used to go running in cold weather. once it was so cold he had an icicle made of sweat on his chin when he was done, so he saved it and put it in the freezer. he also said he had an icicle made of sweat somewhere else, but he didn't save that one.
