Can you call time-out during a war?

2003-03-29 12:12:56 AM
damn, i'm sure this was the last thing the pentagon wanted to do: show the world that the US doesn't have its act together yet. that's what you get when you expect the enemy to fall on their asses for you

2003-03-29 12:13:12 AM
time to blow the crap outta all the iraqis they left in the cities behind 'em

2003-03-29 12:13:14 AM
bush is trying to see if he could make gas any higher
I hear he has a bet with Cheney

Bush:
"I bet if we postpone as much as possible they COULD go even higher"
Cheney:
"no way, we already made billions for our buddies, let's stop now and just give them some tax cuts"

2003-03-29 12:13:15 AM
The anchors of this war need to eat something.

2003-03-29 12:13:38 AM
Bah! In my days we didn't need no stinkin' pauses! We just marched on, in the snow, up hill, all the time, and called it a good day!

2003-03-29 12:13:38 AM
so how much are they gonna advance them?

and what about me, i could use some cash as well.

2003-03-29 12:13:46 AM

2003-03-29 12:13:59 AM
Nice planning. They couldn't plan on their planningest day of the year with an electrified planning machine.

2003-03-29 12:14:15 AM

"soldiers have had their rations cut to one meal packet a day from three."
If I were them I would be pissed off.

2003-03-29 12:14:47 AM
Swami

How does this show the world we don't have our 'act' together?

Oh, I forgot. If the war doesn't end in 48 hours then we have 'shown' the world that the US is a complete pansy ass that should invest its interest in ice skating and ice skating only.

2003-03-29 12:14:55 AM
They are not stopping the war. They are just stopping the advance, so the supply line can solidify and catch up.No fuel no go.

2003-03-29 12:15:27 AM
You know, if Saddam were as easy to beat as Sonic 2, I might support this whole war nonsense.

However, I think we've officially reached levels of Sonic CD...or at least Sonic And Knuckles.

farking chinchilla.

2003-03-29 12:15:32 AM
i wonder how big the sh!tstorm will be from the media

2003-03-29 12:15:33 AM
That's a bright idea... Jesus, get it over with, dammit!

2003-03-29 12:15:34 AM
TIME OUT, TIME OUT, I got sand in my eye.

2003-03-29 12:15:59 AM
It's to wait for the 4th Mech division you asshats.

:-p

2003-03-29 12:16:26 AM
In other news:

Saddam now knows he has 4-6 days to organize his troops for a counter-attack.

stupid media.

2003-03-29 12:16:42 AM
Dammit. No cheap gas till next week. I wish they would kill saddam so I could afford to go fishing in South Padre this weekend. Oh well good things come to those who wait. Or so I am told.

2003-03-29 12:16:55 AM
This is just in the advance towards Baghdad. The troops have totally outrun their supply chain and reinforcements. They probably haven't slept in days either at the rate they've been advancing.

Apparently all those people saying we've over-extended our push North have been correct.

I expect we will continue our fight for Basra and consolidate our gains so far while we bring in reinforcements and bolster our strength in the North. I also expect that we will still be bombing the hell out of every target we can see.

2003-03-29 12:17:23 AM
You gotta wonder about these things. Could be tactical, or could just be a damn lie. Either way, the Iraqis are screwed. Must be like shooting prairie dogs. Poor varmits never see it coming.

2003-03-29 12:17:28 AM
You know, I wonder... where the fark do they "do their business" when in the middle of the desert? Do they just squat down when fighting? Or do they have something like Depends™?

2003-03-29 12:17:32 AM
...soldiers have had their rations cut to one meal packet a day from three...

it's not impossible to survive on one a day. It's what they're designed for, to pack a lot of calories in one packet.

2003-03-29 12:17:41 AM
The top brass better drag their fu*king heads out before this thing gets outa hand....

Syria, Iran, and N. Korea need to get biatch slapped.

Invest our interests in ice skating? What, are we Canada?

2003-03-29 12:17:48 AM
With all that oil, who needs to wait for more fuel? Just hook your up gas-guzzling armored vehicle to a well and off you go.

2003-03-29 12:17:59 AM
Out of fuel???...

Arent they swimming in oil?

2003-03-29 12:18:00 AM
WongFeiHong,
It is just a sign that the pentagon didn't plan on the US troops and convoys getting shot at. Someone screwed up if that weren't taken into account

2003-03-29 12:18:03 AM
WongFeiHong,
I think the war taking a little longer is not an indication of not having our act together since unexpected sh|t happens. But this is just bad planning ... or maybe its some freaky mindgame the Pentagon is playing with the Iraqis.
Hope this ends quickly. The longer it takes, the more it will cost us.

2003-03-29 12:18:06 AM
The Plan calls for a short pause for spring break! The Plan is good, The Plan is solid, The Plan calls for beer and bobbies right now.

2003-03-29 12:18:49 AM
Rackemup, I really really hope that Saddam counter-attacks us. In force... with as many of his heavy armor and Republican guard units as possible. I really hope he tries it. Unfortunately I don't think he's going to make that mistake.

2003-03-29 12:18:51 AM
"Use of gas-guzzling armored vehicles has been restricted to save fuel..."

SAVOR THE IRONY! SAVOR THE IRONY!!!

I'm laughing, but I'm not SURE I should be. :D

2003-03-29 12:19:38 AM
Peace, y'all. This place just needs some peace.

2003-03-29 12:19:52 AM

Ok, by this do you mean "I am going to sit in front of a computer while other people do this stuff"?

Because that's what you sound like.

2003-03-29 12:19:57 AM
I received stiff resistance from my girlfriend tonight. Now it's time for her monthly visitor, so I will also have a 4 to 6 day pause.

2003-03-29 12:19:59 AM
Puffy999: I'm by no means an expert, but I'd imagine they just dig a hole, or something.

Oh, man. Nasty, nasty mental image... guh.

2003-03-29 12:20:04 AM
Nuke Baghdad. Collect your oil. Go home. Game over.

2003-03-29 12:20:26 AM
Dissonance, except our vehicles don't run on crude oil lol. They run on gasoline.
