People still watch primitive sports where people try to throw a piece of rubber through a hoop?

2003-03-28 11:57:26 PM
42 actually

2003-03-28 11:57:43 PM
The only sport that matters is drunken monkey knife fights.

2003-03-28 11:58:08 PM
I can still smell the smoke coming from Kobe's hands.

2003-03-28 11:58:59 PM
This sort of thing wouldn't happen if this country had tougher lighting control laws.

2003-03-28 11:59:15 PM
Shaq pwnz Kobe. Kobe is an opportunist.

2003-03-28 11:59:56 PM
There's a tournament game on, so why would I?

2003-03-29 12:00:04 AM
Wait - I thought Michael Jordan retired. No, I mean recently.

2003-03-29 12:00:31 AM
Passing the torch? Kobe is anal probing MJ with that battered old torch, and Mike's gonna walk off the court bowlegged as Gabby Hayes.

2003-03-29 12:01:28 AM
Oh my God! I just realized that sounded Canadian.

2003-03-29 12:01:51 AM
basket-what?

2003-03-29 12:03:45 AM
we need a sports tag

2003-03-29 12:04:03 AM
Is this even on TV? All I can find are a tourney game and the Mavs vs. Blazers

2003-03-29 12:04:52 AM
Jordan would've made Kobe his supreme biatch when he was in his prime. :P

2003-03-29 12:04:57 AM
03-29-03 12:03:45 AM Auckum
we need a sports tag

Agreed. Some people don't seem to get it, it seems.

2003-03-29 12:05:17 AM
Gah. Who needs NBA? This is tourney time. And 'Cuse won!

2003-03-29 12:05:45 AM
Puffy999, maybe...but Kobe isn't in HIS prime yet.

2003-03-29 12:06:40 AM
I think they should get rid of all tags. They seem to make too many Farkers mad.

2003-03-29 12:06:44 AM
I could put 40 on Jordan too if I shot the ball a hundred times in a quarter. I find it quite interesting that in the year Kobe has "taken over" the Lakers, that they are going to be one of the bottom playoff teams vs. previous years where Shaq was the main option and they won championships. Way to go ball-hog.

I was going to say that Kobe is kind of a jackhole, but that would be bush league. He's a giant jackhole.

2003-03-29 12:06:58 AM
Jordan chose a great time to quit, when some people actually watched basketball.

Boxing, now... that's a sport that should be aired more often. One on One, you don't see the same idiots every night, and they don't *usually* make 15000000x more then you.

2003-03-29 12:07:34 AM
Hmm, I'm still waiting for the news flash about what just happened on TV. Apparently we've outrun our supply chain in the advance northwards towards Baghdad and need 4-6 days to regroup and resupply.

We'll probably concentrate on Basra for the time being and consolidate our gains.

2003-03-29 12:08:07 AM
Newsflash is for something going on right this moment of interest. General importance can be variable

2003-03-29 12:08:08 AM
Goddamn Farkers, click away from the Halflife, or Everqwest or sbb and go upstairs to your mom's living room and turn on the television. March is the best month for sports and it is almost over.

A-Bomb

2003-03-29 12:08:17 AM
I mean really, no kidding aside, was anyone's live farked up because this had a 'news flash' tag? Has you're whole world come crashing down because of this? No? Then shut the hell up.

2003-03-29 12:09:04 AM
errr, eject quickly there Cke-gt. Kobe's shooting damn near 75%. 14-20. You couldn't shoot 75% into the toilet when the Swimsuit issue arrived at your hovel.

2003-03-29 12:09:09 AM
Could I possibly be number 37?

2003-03-29 12:09:56 AM
In fact there goes an important newsflash right there (4-6 day halt in military advance)

2003-03-29 12:10:01 AM
I'm not going to whine about this being a sports post even though I've no interest in sports whatsoever. I just thought that it was funny that I initially thought that this was a story about something going on in the mideast, like a terrorist attack in Jordan.

2003-03-29 12:10:14 AM
Am I the only one who thought lesbian photoshoot starring Kobe Tai & Jordan Lee? Or do I only have a dirty mind?

2003-03-29 12:10:30 AM
I have some Michael Jordan tenner shoes.

2003-03-29 12:10:42 AM
Is Kobe beef really that good?

2003-03-29 12:10:45 AM
Im a sports fan, but this is hardly a newsflash.
But people should read the comment that comes along with the post so you know what the topic is. As for pro basketball wake me when the western conference finals start, thats the only thing that matters. (eastern conference = sucktastic)

2003-03-29 12:10:58 AM
NEWS FLASH:

No one cares if you don't like sports.

2003-03-29 12:11:04 AM
Do you like the turtle, Drew?

2003-03-29 12:11:59 AM
He's taking stupid shots now.

2003-03-29 12:12:00 AM
The turtle rocks

2003-03-29 12:12:08 AM
Actually at the same age, MJ would probably school Kobe (he was teh own on offense, and that's not even considering KB will never be the defender Jordan was, and so on). And MJ actually went to college for a couple years, so less experience feeding the ego. ;)

2003-03-29 12:12:31 AM
Can the turtle have a news-flash? Or can we have a turtle tag?

btw, 48 pts now.

2003-03-29 12:13:46 AM
Drew:

I'd wait for a real news source to report the stall in the offensive.

(/humorous slam at Reuters)

Gee.. this war sure is uplifting.

At least Kobe seems to be hitting the target more often

2003-03-29 12:14:07 AM
Sports tag! Sports tag! Sports tag!

2003-03-29 12:15:18 AM
I have a lot of money on Kentucky. If they don't win I blame Drew.

2003-03-29 12:16:21 AM
Puffy,

Jordan wasn't the defender Jordan Was when he was Kobe's age. That came about the time he got tired of getting beat down in the playoffs.

But please keep hayting. Mike got the same kind of disrespect in the mid-80s too. Selfish. Couldn't lead a team. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. It was ridiculous then...it's ridiculous now with Kobe.

2003-03-29 12:16:48 AM
I'll vote yes for the turtle tag.

2003-03-29 12:18:51 AM
the michigan state-maryland game is excellent, NBA will always be backseat to college basketball

2003-03-29 12:21:56 AM
Kobe won't play the 4th. He'll finish in the low 50s.

2003-03-29 12:24:47 AM
Maryland losing will fark up my bracket.

Grrr..

2003-03-29 12:24:51 AM
I think that Marquette (my alum) has a good chance to beat Kentucky. Whatever happens, I'm just glad to see Marquette's b-ball program coming back. Crean has got a good thing going.

2003-03-29 12:25:53 AM
The highlight of the tournament has to be Steve Blake's "dunk".

2003-03-29 12:30:02 AM
What with Bogans hurt and all, Marquette has a very good chance to beat Kentucky...and turn my bracket into complete crap.
