I guess that's better than a "Blowing a trucker for a ride" badge.

When I was a scout, all we did was make birdhouses.

I think they got a demerit badge.

Well, considering that it's traditionally been the male scoutmasters who've done all the ogling/groping/fondling of the boy scouts, this is at least a step in a new direction.

The whole "Den Mother" concept always bothered me, though. I mean, it's boy scouts. Are there "Den Fathers" in girl scouts? It just seems like, if the whole point is to create an organization around which the central requirement for membership is that you be a boy, its leadership is likewise made up of boys. We had a Den Mother back when I was a weblos or webelos or weblose or whatever the hell they call those things who was obsessed with telling us to "aim carefully" anytime we had to pee during a meeting. You'd excuse yourself to use the restroom and she'd nod at you and intone, "aim carefully!" as you left, and then she'd giggle into her shoulder. She often had a drink in her hand. It was a little bizarre, and we all took a special joy out of peeing on her toilet seat.

Interesting how it goes from the headline "Female Scout leader accused of sex with young boy" to a teenage boy later, to a "younger than 18" boy.

Dude could be 17, in which case boning a den mother isn't so icky.

Den mothers are for cub scouts, the younger ones. This one was just an adult leader for the Boy Scouts.

Do they have a badge for that?

Also, do they have something similar for say, men in there early 30's?

They blocked the female from leaving until deputies arrived.

I'm kinda surprised the parents didn't get charged with unlawful detention or anything...

"They blocked the female from leaving until deputies arrived."

In a best case scenario they had time to don super hero suits.

They let women be scoutmasters now?

What's the big deal? The boy scouts are anti-gay and this just goes with their thinking of helping to keep this boy straight.

I need pictures of said Den mother in order to see if this is a crime.

Maybe women and gays shouldn't be scoutmasters.

Citizens arrest on their property, even in the People Republic of Maryland you are autherized to use force to detain someone who is committing a criminal act on your property and turn them over to the cops.

This is why I will never let my kids in scouting. All those pervs! Next thing you know, there will be field trips to Hooters for wildlife merit badges and strip clubs for visual acuity badges. My kids will take purity vows at 8, and be virgins til marriage. Take that, you childhood robbing maniacs!

I have a 17 year old son who is within weeks of meeting the Eagle Scout board. The one female Assistant Scoutmaster in his troop looks like Ed Asner with a she-mullet. If I caught them in flagrante delicto, I'd get my son's head examined after I punched her in the nose.

yeah... gotta love a hot den mother....

useless without pics

The real news here is that a 17 year old still in the boy scouts got laid.

What kind of asshole parents blueball their kid like that?

Back in my day they just used to give us the "pitching a tent" and "bird watching" badges to commemorate this achievement.

What is the point of publishing these articles without pics of the female? I cannot form any opinion on these matters unless I know if she's hot or ugly.

Just for clarification:

Den Mother = Cub Scouts (and maybe Webelos or however it's spelled).

Scout Master/Asst Scout Master = Boy Scouts.

As such, unless the kid was a tard, he wouldn't be in Cub Scouts. Even then, I think he'd be in some special Tard Scouts group and not the Cub Scouts.

For those wondering about Den Mothers, I think the concept is something like little kids are still with their mothers while their fathers are out with the older boys teaching them woodcraft, auto repair, and the like. Older girls would then be with their mothers helping care for the kids. It's a good concept because women are definitely the weaker sex and they just break shiat, get lost, or are otherwise useless for anything but buttshecks when they're not helping around the house.

/this was my knowledge from 20 years ago, so things could've changed.

I want to get one that says "my honor roll student beat up your little moron".

Pretty much correct, although you might see the special needs kid in a mainstream unit.

That said, I have met more than one female adult leader I would nail over the years (but wouldn't simply because that would be really disruptive to the unit).
