Now if they get bombed they really can claim its unjustified.

2001-09-20 07:46:23 AM
Um, excuse me? Mr. bin Laden? Um, could you, uh...please...leave?

riiiiight. Sounds like stalling tactics to me.

Poor Afgans. The Taliban really suck.

2001-09-20 07:46:31 AM
not necessarily. word is that he was paid by iraq. so maybe we'll bomb them instead. And also, the US also wants all the terrorists in his network. He's just the most famous one.

Anyhow, let's see actions not words. I'll believe they'll hand him over when i see it.

2001-09-20 07:51:25 AM
anyhow, how would they prove that Bin Laden has left? They could just claim he has while he hides in the mountains. The US intelligence has nothing on Bin Laden and would never know for sure. Crazy Ivan - read the article. The headline above doesn't really describe the article.

I reluctantly must say that they have a point: Show proof that Osama bin Laden was involved with the tragedy of last tuesday. (If he is, no mercy.) Given that I have heard that there is evidence that our 'good' friend from Iraq might be involved, I'd say that the first priority is finding the real culprit, then punishing him (or her).

"The main point is they are stalling and they'll go on stalling. I don't see that reality has yet got through," Fred Halliday from the London School of Economics told CNN.

"They haven't got the message and I doubt that they are going to."

Taliban, reality on line one, says it's urgent...

2001-09-20 08:00:25 AM
heh, Bluefenderstrat:
taliban: "please pick up, pleaseplease please pick up the phone!"

2001-09-20 08:02:22 AM
They have phones in that country?

2001-09-20 08:04:32 AM
And I request that $1million be put directly into my bank account.

C'mon... I'm requesting nicely. Please?

Damn, didn't think it would happen.
=-=-=-=-=-=-
Now would be the time to have The Duke around... send him over there and intimidate the shiat out of everyone. heh

Anybody else have images of a torch weilding lynch mob?
"Give us that boy or we'll burn ya out!"

2001-09-20 08:07:24 AM
what part of harboring do they not understand? even if he wasn't directly responsible, the U.S. Government said ALL terrorists. I can just see the Taliban now...Mr. Bin Laden, are you a terrorist?

Bin Laden...Of course not

Taliban.....He said he wasn't a terrorist

What a waste of oxygen

2001-09-20 08:07:47 AM
ya know the Head Cleric will say that OBL is a guest and should stay.

and then Afghanistan will become a farking crater.

2001-09-20 08:08:39 AM
Also, am I the only one who thinks "Operation: Infinite Justice" is the dumbest title since "Attack of the Clones"?

2001-09-20 08:10:03 AM
Afghani born
Afghani bred
If you do not hand over Bin Laden
you'll be Afghani dead

2001-09-20 08:10:38 AM
I think CNN is being a bit simplistic - apparently the Teleban have urged bin Laden to leave, i.e. it's still up to him:

Possible alternate titles to "Operation Infinite Justice":

"Justice Unlimited"
"A Justice Too Far"
"The Justicinator"

And coming soon to CNN: "Operation Infinite Justice's Craziest Home Videos"

Oh Mango, Fsillade, Ivan. You're the kind of Americans that make the USA worth saving. How many of you are Americans?

2001-09-20 08:30:41 AM
Well, there's that threat of a Holy War in the air. This could be bad; I mean, they could kill thousands and thousands of people. Oh wait.

2001-09-20 08:30:59 AM
Sorry - English.

know soem of the words to the star spangled banner though! - does that help?

2001-09-20 08:31:39 AM
How about "Attack of the Infinite Justice"?

2001-09-20 08:32:09 AM
Fusillade: funniest thing I've heard all day and very true.

How about Infinite Justice II: This Time It's Personal.

Or, more accurately Infinite Justice: With a Vengeance.

I saw a picture of america once

"His father was a warlord who fought the evil in "Operation desert storm", His government scraped in on a wing and a prayer, Now he's pissed and no-one is going to stop him."

George "Dubya" Bush stars in "Opeartaion Infinite Justice"

Coming to a news channel near you.

Is this in bad taste?

2001-09-20 08:39:23 AM
The next war will be televised, serialised, turned into a film, a book, a bumper sticker and a kids toy.

2001-09-20 08:41:53 AM
Well, it's not like that asked OBL friendly to leave. They bloody Fathwa'ed to get him take his sorry ass somewhere else.

/Me guesses Pakistan or somewhere into the earth's mantle with a highly sophisticated camel driven rope. Consider that, just like a Looney Tunes cartoon....

Erhm, need coffee now.

"I teleported home one night
With Ron and Sid and Meg.
Ron stole Meggie's heart away
And I got Sidney's leg."

Isn't "holy war" the worst oxymoron you've ever seen?

Anybody remember the movie (Fail Safe?) where Slim Pickens rides the bomb out of the plane? I can just see him now, straddling a big one, waving his hat from side to side and yelling- "jiiiiiiiihaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!!"

(not that I'm advocating that, or anything)

2001-09-20 08:55:22 AM
Bongoman, of course it'll be one of those top of the line Scud missles.... all it will make is a dent in the ground and a smeary little red spot that used to be Bin Laden.

2001-09-20 08:56:24 AM
Pooper - You have it! That has got to be the definitive subtitle

2001-09-20 09:09:29 AM
"Springtime for Osama"?

2001-09-20 09:13:05 AM
"Isn't "holy war" the worst oxymoron you've ever seen?"

Yeah, it is. But this is from religioustolerance.org:

"Jihad (struggle) is probably the most misunderstood religious word in existence. It often mentioned on Western TV and radio during news about the Middle East, where it is implied to be a synonym of "holy war" - a call to fight against non-Muslims in the defense of Islam.

The vast majority of Muslims have an entirely different definition of Jihad. It is seen as a personal, internal struggle with one's self. The goal may be achievement in a profession, self-purification, the conquering of primitive instincts or the attainment of some other noble goal."

2001-09-20 09:14:06 AM
Bongoman: That's Dr. Strangelove, not Fail Safe. Fail Safe is a hell of a lot more sobering. Dr. Strangelove is a good drinking movie.

2001-09-20 09:17:53 AM
Kammat,
Thanks, I also thought it might be Dr. Strangelove, but wasn't sure.

2001-09-20 09:18:16 AM
"You can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

2001-09-20 09:18:57 AM
This from my sister-in-law, who is Muslim: "The Koran's concept of 'Jihad' that you've heard of has nothing to do
with butchering civilians. Jihad makes it a holy cause to defend Moslems against an invading army...not becoming an assasin, or far worse, as these bastards exemplify."

2001-09-20 09:26:08 AM
Yes; Dr. Stranglove. I always get those two mixed up. You gotta love Peter Sellers.

2001-09-20 09:33:09 AM
No matter how this turns out, we're still taking over Afghanistan anyhow

2001-09-20 09:42:20 AM
Drew - I hope our goal is not to take over Afghanistan, per se. If it is, we'll likely face the same fate as the Soviets. I hope our goal is to oust the Taliban regime and restore the governance of Afghanistan to the Afghans who have suffered miserably under this hateful regime.

2001-09-20 10:01:18 AM
I think they need chuck norris for operation infinite justice, or stevie seagull..

2001-09-20 10:38:06 AM
Saw Hannible 2 yesterday and I saw Bin Laden up there right with Hannible Lecteur(sp)! So, it's a fair deal if we give them Anthony Hopkins in exchange for Bin Laden.

2001-09-20 10:42:16 AM
BTW, if we were to obtain Osama Bin Laden wtf would we do with him? Would life in jail or even death be enough for his sorry ass?! DAMN IT, the last thing we want is a farking martyr!

2001-09-20 10:57:56 AM
He dosen't need to leave the country...he needs to leave the planet

2001-09-20 11:17:58 AM

"Springtime for Osama"?

DAMMIT, Fusillade, you beat me to that one. Though I think it would be more fitting if it were "Springtime for Dubya"....

2001-09-20 11:27:56 AM
Yeah PooperScooper! How about--Desert Storm: The Next Generation? Considering we have Dubya for this one and Daddy for the last one....
