No, Hollywood is flooded with good scripts each day. But the idea of taking a risk on a new script is repulsive to executives when they can simply remake something that already has brand recognition and dumb it down so that the intellectually weak majority can access it.

Pretty much nailed it right there. Why take the risk of making something new and good when you can do Transformers 3 and guarantee truckloads of money?

The story behind the nutcracker is pretty action packed. I dont know what peoples problem with this is honestly. Given the choice Id rather watch the action flick than dudes in tights.
