Your Faith is Creepy: guacamole sans avocado. The mind boggles.

It's actually quite tasty from what I've heard. At least if you've never had real guacamole before. Not a fan either way myself.

You can have my Oreos after you pry them from my cold dead hands.

I dont understand why the article is so hung up on sodium. So a can of soup has almost the daily value of sodium... so what? it's a whole meal, isnt it?

On a lighter note, my walmart (GreatValue) brand hotdogs actually say chicken and pork on the wrapper. Taste terrible too.

Both the article headline and the Fark headline says there are 6 items, but the list only has 4. Anyone else think this should have earned the fail tag?

2009-12-07 06:48:00 AM
I am eating Fritos currently. The ingredients are whole corn, corn oil, and salt. This has about 9 servings in the bag, each with 7% of my total daily sodium and 15% of my total daily fat. My can of Dr. Pepper contains 2% of my daily sodium and no fat. I am as healthy as an ox which is as healthy as two oxen.

If you are seriously that lazy that you can't mix avacado and sour cream together to make guacamole then you deserve the coronary.

Heard of buttons? Mystically little creatures said create links where articles mysteriously vanish into the aether. Perhaps "Next Page" or "View as a single page" are too arcane for you, and unbeknownst may open a portal to another realm of fantasy! Fear not, brave adventure, for these buttons are not generally malevolent beasts, but the tools left behind by these lost civilization may help you upon your quest, though I see you have completed the quest to earn your own "Fail Tag" and thus I reward you ten gold pieces.

2009-12-07 06:53:16 AM
I used to drive around with a can of spray cheese and a box of crackers in the back seat of my car. Then I got older and decided that stuff was disgusting, and stopped buying it. Then I got even older and realized that stuff is actually tasty, though unhealthy, so now I buy it again occasionally (but don't keep it in my car).

I only wrote this so that somebody would put up one of those "cool story, bro" pics.

Please?

pretty sure the FAIL tag should be reserved for the mental giants that can't find the "Next Page" link in articles.

and not just a "Next Page" link... but also numbered page squares in case "Next Page" was too obtuse. AND a link to "View as a single page" if the two previous options were just too confusing.

This guy's really angry over sodium. That said, I never trusted the spray on cheese.

I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I read the Oreo part. So that's why they stay edible for so long.

2009-12-07 07:05:04 AM
Soup and spam don't deserve to be on the list. Yeah, soup has lots of sodium. So don't eat three cans of soup a day. Spam isn't really that unhealthy, though. It's mostly sodium and fat and doesn't have a lot of nutritional value so it's not GOOD for you, but it's not inherently bad for you either. It's very popular in Japan, and they're just about the healthiest people in the world. The taste on the other hand... eww.

Perfect Guacamole Recipe

* 1-2 serrano chiles, stems and seeds removed, minced
* 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves, finely chopped
* 1 tablespoon of fresh lime or lemon juice
* 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
* A dash of freshly grated black pepper

From TFA:

For the record, Kraft is no longer selling congealed green oil as "guacamole" but rather as "guacamole-flavored dip." It's an improvement, I suppose, though I think somebody should file a suit against Kraft that prevents the company from ever again describing its products as "foods."

Agreed.

I usually also add a bit of sriracha, and maybe the tiniest amount of curry powder. Garnish with minced green onion on top - delicious!

I fell in love with Oreos thanks to couple of USAF guys I was friends with....

Since then, they've started selling UK-made oreos, and they're actually better. Because we have tighter food controls, they *taste* mostly the same, (the actual cookie that is) but the cream is a lot, well, creamier, and tastes far less fake and oily.

If you can find them, buy UK Oreos.
Alas they don't have the entire range yet. But they're getting there.....

Murkanen - you've got to know that dirty, low hanging fruit is a Farker's favorite food. Schadenfreude is the staff of life on this forum. That said, it could have been worse - it could have been me!
