Came for the South Park reference. Well done.

That's weird because I am in San Diego and I just held a fundraiser last night for a homeless shelter. We raised nearly $7000 and now there aren't going to be any homeless to feed and clothe (sp?). Now what?

Phoenix deserves 'em. Us UA fans shouldn't have to put up with homeless people throwing a cramp in our fun at the Holiday Bowl later this month.

ASU's football team isn't doing anything around New Years. Maybe they can hang out with them and discuss what it's like to be an outcast.

/Fark you, Phoenix. You want to hoard everything in the state? You can hoard the kidnappers and inbound homeless.

Route 8 is boring, huh mrapier?

All of you with proclivities to bang the pot - so to speak - watch the fark out, because the "border patrol" needs no constitutional reason to search your car with drug dogs - they just do, every time.

learn from this experience farkers, don't give your tourist time and money to those dirtbags 'round south there, and if you have the inclination, start a civil suit for unlawful stop - someone has to!

Arizonans use Southern California resort cities all the time.

Palm Springs is only about 4 hours from Phoenix, a direct shot on I-10. No airports to deal with.

2009-12-06 03:30:43 PM
WTF?

Why would you do this if you were homeless? If it were Chicago to AZ that'd be a different story. But I'd rather be in SD than 120F land.

mrapier: The 8 is the most boring interstate ever.

That's true 99% of the time, but I did drive it once following a thunderstorm much of the way and that was pretty cool.

/lives in a van down by the Salt "River" eating government cheese
//fark you San Diego Police, I had it nice in La Jolla!

2009-12-06 03:34:45 PM
I-8 is beautiful if you like the desert, as most people in Arizona do.

They do random dope checks just about everywhere now, because stupid people still drive with marijuana in the car as if it were 1985. The state gets a lot of money this way.

I've lived in both OB in San Diego and Tempe.

Way more bums in OB than if Tempe, but the bums are generally cooler in OB.

The city of San Diego has reportedly mounted a campaign to drive the city's homeless out of downtown and into Arizona.

That's according to a new lawsuit filed.

I think Wisconsin should sue Chicago for this very same thing

When did cops get the right to steal homeless people's possessions?

2009-12-06 03:59:33 PM
California is a Garden of Eden
A paradise to live in or see
But believe it or not
You won't find it so hot
If you don't have the do-re-mi.

Thanks Woody & Arlo

Should be legal to vote in a city law banning homeless people. However, it shouldn't be legal to steal their stuff to get them to leave.

But it's a horrendously boring 4 hour drive going through the worst part of California.

I would inquire as to how "homelessness" could rationally be criminally prohibited, but as I have observed from previous discussions that you are both irrational and dishonest -- as is evident from your lies regarding the subject of evolution -- I believe it unlikely that you would be able to provide a logical justification for your proposal.

I agree that I-10 between Palm Springs and Phoenix is a pretty boring drive. IMO I-8 is a bit prettier.

Fortunately, there is usually little traffic, and it's a laser-straight shot. 75 mph speed limit in AZ.

/Watch the cameras, they are everywhere now.

Throwing away a lice infested cardboard box, and burning crap stained underwear in the jails does not count as destroying peoples positions. It is just good hygiene.

Dimensio: I would inquire as to how "homelessness" could rationally be criminally prohibited

Of course one couldn't make it a crime to *not* own something (a home), but associated activities could be outlawed. One could easily enact laws to ban panhandling, trespassing on private property, sleeping (camping) on public property, etc., etc. If such laws -- which probably already exist -- were vigorously enforced, the effect would be much the same.

2009-12-06 04:27:35 PM
In San Antonio they harass them ruthlessly, and write them tickets for all sorts of crap.

Then when they don't pay the tickets, the cops haul them in and the Judge says: "---well, you got $600 worth of tickets here, just leave town for a year and we'll call it square, okay?"

The vast bulk of them wind up in Corpus Christi, where the winters are much milder and the handous are more generous---dammit.

We have about ten times as many per capita.

No worries. I'm sure that all of the self-proclaimed Christians will take care of them much in the same way that Jesus was fed and sheltered by others during his travels.

As someone who is from San Diego: most people who live there aren't from there. They move there, realize it's awesome, and then dog on tourists that they pretend they are better than. These people live in PB.

2009-12-06 05:24:55 PM
Can the cops do something about the bums that sleep on the lawn of the library in PB?

At least don't let them sleep on the lawn during the day

You can live in Tucson for so cheap that a paid-off mortgage is easily achieved.

You still have to live in Tucson...but you now have enough money that you can vacation all over the world.

/nice not being a slave.
