Back when I was in high school I was seeing this guy who was trying convince me he was the anti-christ and was asexual. Needless to say a year later he got a chic pregnant, was forced to get married by his super Christian family and got her pregnant 2 more times. I have no idea why I stuck around as long as I did I think it was cause I knew it was bullcrap and wanted to see how long it would go.

Yeah sort of random, but some people want to asexual.

Either? Homosexuality is a choice. Of course, if people persuade others to think it isn't they will feel as if their sin is excused. Homosexuality is a choice just like being a pedophile or a rapist is a choice.

If it were for asexuality then half of all pop songs at this time would never exist?

Being a troll is genetic or a choice?

Chariset: What about if sex just doesn't seem worth the effort/risk?

I remember going on a forum for asexuals one time, and there's a difference between the biological and by-choice asexuals. The biological asexuals were always getting pissy that people with mental disorders (severe anxiety, etc.) or made a conscious decision to avoid sexuality were trying to co-opt "asexuality" in order to give themselves a tidy label. I assume they thought the by-choice people were akin to whites in blackface trying to get sympathy.

Oh thank goodness you made it in under ten posts. I was really starting to worry that this thread would remain rational.

What if you have desires to but don't want to put in the effort? What does that make you, other than a lazy loser, at least according to accepted social mores?

It's probably a biological by-product of overpopulation. Like the more simple animals that spontaneously switch genders. We're just too biologically complex to make the physical change, so it's mental.

Absolutely. This morning I woke up, chose my height and hair color, and I was ready to face the day.

Anyways, I am only attracted to very feminine submissive 100% passable pre-op Brazilian trannies.

Except it doesn't really seem to effect reproduction all that much. Asexual people can still have the biological drive to be parents but they just look at sex as a means for reproduction and not really as a recreational activity.

I wonder if those who're labelled "asexual" tend to have higher academic achievements? Or something in that vein.

Would be interesting to know at any rate.

but the idea of sex doesn't really do much for them, hence they are unlikely, but not unable, to reproduce. Same with gays. Makes sense to me: it's genetically-wired birth control.

What if, instead of four distinct categories you have a range? Let's suppose you have two axes, and assign X for male-female desire and Y for desire / non-desire.

Thus, someone on the upper left would have a strong attraction for men, while someone in the middle bottom would have a no desire for either.

As someone with a full-transference fetish, which I tend to believe is the source of my asexuality, I can say that not having a physical desire to copulate certainly FEELS as if I lack what others have from a biological standpoint.

I do, however, believe the term is too broad, as there are people who feel no desire for any human contact and people who feel no desire for for any, let us say, amorous human contact. While technically both asexual, both are distinct from one another.

I tried to have intercourse with my ex just to make her happy, and yeah, it felt like work and I could barely keep myself aroused with my imagination.

Where would somebody be placed on your chart with a very strong attraction to men, but a mild attraction to women?

I don't think your chart works.

I can understand it. There's a difference between someone who just doesn't care about sex on any level versus someone who just can't get laid.

Ralph Nader is thought to be another, though he's never talked about it. No evidence of him ever having a romantic partner in his life, IIRC.
