Merky: Can we change the charity? I was involved in Toys For Tots for several years and we had problems with Marines stealing the good toys for their own children over a several year period. This was not done only where I live but was a statewide problem. After this happened I resigned my position and no longer trust Marines farther then I can't throw them.
buckler: While you're down there, will you un-gag the DARPA guy and ask him again where the balloon was? Or else it gets the hose again.
El Chode: A lot seem to be donating to charity.
Sgt. Pepper: buckler: While you're down there, will you un-gag the DARPA guy and ask him again where the balloon was? Or else it gets the hose again.Dude, no one does the hose thing anymore. Waterboarding is the new hotness.
Computer: Ok, who was the silly goose that put a bunch in Kazakhstan?
TMBGfreak: One got reported on 10 balloons a block and a half from me in West Lafayette, IN...I'm going to go check it now.
jafiwam: sonofslacker: DeCypher44: christ1: How much are teams going to monitor each other to steal locations? Doesn't it just become which team steals the most balloons? As far as DARPA is concerned, that is just part of this exercise. They want to see HOW people do this. They will look for patterns, new ideas, how info is disseminated and grouped... well, here:One of postings from prior thread -Actually, this is EXACTLY what DARPA is hoping for. The whole point of this exercise is to see how people in large groups can organize, spread the word, do the field work, collaborate and return the results.tinfoil hat on:they are doing this for the coming martial law to be declared. determining the best way to control the masses and break up any large group communication.hat off.Yeah, I am thinking this is some sort of follow-up basic research on Intel gathering methods. After the Iran "revolution" thing, some of the old school "sneak around and try to figure out" method guys probably woke up a bit.The layers used, how people do things like this will be some good basic research for intel gathering, as well as starting and maintaining covert ops and propaganda. It's good to know we have a few forward-thinkers on our side.
punkrockgirl: TMBGfreak: One got reported on 10 balloons a block and a half from me in West Lafayette, IN...I'm going to go check it now.Purdue is definitely likely, let me know!
Computer: Whoever did the penis, you are so funny its not even funny. I'm still laughing.
Con_Authority: Seriously guys, do you REALLY want to teach a research arm of the government / military to better search and utilize social networks? If you want $40,000 for "The Children" take up a collection and tell big brother to move on. There is no way you'd get your check before Christmas anyway.
dbrunker: buckler: My wife is on Pill Hill and says she can't see anything above the fog.
Con_Authority: There is no way you'd get your check before Christmas anyway.
missmarsha: prg have you been getting emails from me I just sent you a pic of one
TMBGfreak: punkrockgirl: TMBGfreak: One got reported on 10 balloons a block and a half from me in West Lafayette, IN...I'm going to go check it now.Purdue is definitely likely, let me know!Oh, and FWIW I have a pretty extensive facebook network around Purdue and haven't heard of anything. Put some questions out there, too.
Mini Ditka: boluke01:NO worries man. How'd you meet all those kick ass people in your profile anyway? My only cool story is I was trick-or-treating when I was little and went to Walter Peyton's house and he gave me football cards instead of candy...never thought to get a picture though. That's awesome! I would have loved to have met Walter. I dunno, just been in the right place at the right time a few times. Had some backstage passes; Spade grew up in my neighborhood and was friends with my brother and his buddies. Still see him from time to time. The Dimebag one is my Holy Grail, I loved that dude.
buckler: Just a suggestion: How about we not post where we don't see them, since that also provides info to the competition.
