Why do people try to hire hitmen to kill their parents? Just buy them a GPS and cell phone and make sure you call them when they're on their way to visit you.

500? You could probably get a Latin American Personage to do it for HALF!

What was your first clue that it was a cop? Maybe the fact that he was even considering killing someone for a mere 500$

$500 to kill someone? If you are in the market for murder, wouldn't it be best not to go the discount route?

If you're giving $500 bucks to some guy in the Wal-Mart parking lot to kill somebody, your day is simply not going to end well.

You know what happens when we are assuming. We make an ass out of you and some guy named Ming. But his buffet is pretty good.

It wasn't about the discount. It was about the payment terms.

They said she gave him $500 and promised him thousands more if he killed her husband.

Still, I don't think many hitmen would work with a $500 downpayment...

I'm pretty sure all hitmen are cops. Unless you're in the mob.

My first clue would be when a black person drove by and the hitman immediately reached for a billy club and TASER.

I'm still confused on how one would go about obtaining a hitman, whether or not it is a cop. Do they go by some slightly misleading title in the phone book, like calling a prostitute an escort? Craigslist? Google search? I wouldn't go just talking to any stranger to procure that service. I just don't get it.

I suppose the moral of the story is if want something done right, you better just do it yourself.

also if you are buying an illegal gun for cheap from a guy who's first language is english... he is a cop.

It's one of those things where you should pay for quality.

Remember when the Jooooish mob in NY was doing hits for straight cash? Murder inc? They wouldn't even send a rude note for $500.

On TV; this is what I've seen:

Some unhappy tard goes to a bar or two, and when they see somebody who looks like they've done time, they proposition them for the hit. The x-con then immediately calls his parole officer and rats them out, so he can get consideration on his sentence when he testifiies againsT the STRANGERS WHO TRUSTED HIM. Jailarity ensues.

Mom: I can't figure out what to get your father for Christmas.

Son: Maybe he'd like a bullet in his brains.

Mom: Great idea! I'll run right down to Walmart and see if I can find someone to play Santa.

$500 is not enough for a real hitman.

T-Luv: What was your first clue that it was a cop? Maybe the fact that he was even considering killing someone for a mere 500$

The first appeal I did was in connection with an attempted murder case. (Different attorney represented the defendant at trail.) It was alleged that my client was paid $500 to kill someone he hung out with for two years. About a half hour before the shooting the victim bought my client dinner. Life is cheap.

The victim was shot in the back of the head. A hollow tip bullet was used and it collapsed and embedded itself into the victim's skull, but did not pierce it. The victim was knocked out by the bullet's impact, but survived to testify against my client. It didn't help my client's case that he was found driving the victim's SUV around and the police had surveillance photos showing my client wearing the victim's clothing he had looted from the victim's apartment after thinking the victim was dead.

Best exchange in the transcript was between trail counsel and a the person police initially accused of shooting the victim, who testified in exchange for a reduced sentence. (The victim didn't know who shot him, they both were behind him at the time he was shot).

Atty: Are you street wise?
Thug: No.
Atty: How many time have you been shot?
Thug: 9 times.
Atty: How many times have you been stabbed.
Thug: Twice.
Atty: So you have been shot 9 times and stabbed twice and you would have the jury believe you are not street wise?
Thug: If I was street wise I wouldn't have gotten shot 9 time and stabbed twice.

That is logic that is hard to argue with.

To do it right, you have friends who know some bad folks. I know a chick whose friend was getting beaten by her husband. The chick knew come gang members who were willing to break both hubby's legs for a few hundred dollars. If you don't know anybody DON'T ASK AROUND. You will get undercover cops. Either you are hooked up, or you aren't.
