Either that or you're knitting lamp posts and what-not.

Oh for farks sake. I'm so tired of knitting being conisdered something that grannies or feminists do. I knit and I'm neither. How about people knit because it's a relaxing hobby that gives you cool stuff to wear when you're finished? Most of these "artists" are just people who have decided to use knitting because it's in vogue right now. If it wasn't knitting it would be something else. It's not about knitting to them; just another way to be an AW.

What a waste! Why not spend the time and effort doing something useful, like a blow job?

"The city's historic public toilets hold a special place in feminists' hearts."

I stopped reading right there.

It's like wearing rings at the Hip Joint. "Did I just hear you say rings were cool?"

I see we're working on a knitting thread trifecta.

I honestly thought the article was going to be about a primate in a zoo somewhere that learned to tie colorful knots.

Maybe I need to step away from teh Fark for awhile.

"non-damaging art"

the knitting on that bus is taking what is already a non-aero dynamic vehicle, and making it extremely, extremely non-aero dynamic. Every ridge on the knitting is catching air. The wake off that thing must look...confusing.

Knitting keeps them off the internet and away from me for just a little bit longer each day. Two thumbs up.

What the heck is up with the resurgence of knitting/crocheting? I know so many females that are into this... I just don't get the appeal.

Maybe it's the ADD... ooh look shiney...

I know a lot of girls around my age(24) who knit. I pretend to like most of it, because most of those girls suck hard at knitting. It's the thought that counts...

"It's art that anybody can see. It's not just people that visit the galleries and museums. It's people that deliver your mail that are going to see your art."

Yup, because mail delivery men don't go to art museums... People like these knitters rub me completely the wrong way.

You don't know love until you've slid your feet into a pair of beautiful hand knitted socks or wrapped yourself up in a luxurious hand knit scarf. Given the negative attitude of many of you towards knitting, you will never know.

I have nothing against the knitted products or anything, I just don't understand the appeal.

I'd rather build a computer or something, personally.

What? People always told me you'd never know love until you looked your own children in the eyes. Now you're telling me I need hand knitted apparel? Does that mean the kid was worthless? Can I give him back? He's only slightly used. I still have the original packaging, but I'm no good at making it look like it was never opened.

Yeah, and you don't know misery until the person you knitted something for leaves it on the bus with the same casual disregard given to the machine-knitted crap sold at Wal-mart for $1.95.
