This reminds me of when our police department used to give kids helicopter rides over town years ago.

They went to the more wealthier, mostly anglo schools and gave kids helicopter tours. They flew them over the south/westside areas, where the minority kids went to school. Hilarious.

One nation under God.

The nonprofit group plans to offer two-hour tours at an initial cost of $65 per adult, with profits funneled back into the community through jobs, "franchised" tours in new areas and micro-loans to inner-city entrepreneurs. muggings.

I'd much rather take a bus ride through South Central LA than drive my own car through. I have friends who now live in Vegas who are from that part of Southern California, and even they say they don't want to drive through there.

A note to the South Central thugs: You might take pride in the fact that normal folks are scared of you, but that's nothing you should be proud of. The fact that nobody wants to visit your shiatty, crime-ridden part of town is what keeps your neighborhood and community in the gutter. If you stopped robbing and killing people, you might be able to build a community that has some appeal to visitors, which brings in money and creates jobs. Think about it.

Oh honey, I was so bored with going down to the club every weekend. I'm so glad you booked us on this excitingly quaint tour of the inner city. Look it's an actual "homie", according to this brochure he is "hanging on the corner" as those people are wont to do. Fascinating to see how they live!

[DO OR DIE]
Do or Die is the name of the nubian who be dreamin'
Uh, of killin' Slobs and listen to 'em screamin'
Or see him dyin' on their front yard
I kept this Slob bendin' a corner
I'm shootin' up his farkin' car
Or catchin' him slippin' at his own tip
I shoot the muthafarka up
To make sure his cap is peeled (right)
And shoot his friends at the funeral
It's do or die muthafarka
It's all about survival
A khakis down fo' life G
And I'm killin' him
Cause he's tryin' to kill me (ooh yeah)
So I creep to kill a Snoop (right)
Fill his ass full of lead and have you troll him like
a hoola-hoop (damn!)
And leave him dying when I'm done
Cause crippin' ain't easy
But it's damn sure fun

[FO' CLIPS]
Crippin' ain't easy - in the city

[BLUE RAG]
I'm loc'd to the fullest like a goddamn nutcase
With two fresh blue rags tied on my face
Fruitfully thinking with my gangsta mentality
To bringin' this Crip shiat from the streets to
reality
They call me the big
Bad-ass Blue Rag who sag
And carry a 4-4 mag
Cause it's a fee, a fi, a fo, a fum
I smell a Slob
So now it's time I kill me one
Or two or three
Them C from the scene G
On my way to hook up with B-K

[B-K]
B-K Slob killa straight mafia
And hollow point is in the gat that's what I got for
ya
When I pull the trigger
And straight blast it
Shootin' your ass and gettin' you ready for the casket
(ooh yeah)
I'm killin' Snoops in a worst way (ooh yeah)
I got my B.K.-47
And it's B.K. allday
So when I'm rollin' in the G-Ride
Committin' homicide (yeah)
1-8-7 ride-by
And if I'm off to another hood dippin' and crippin'
Set trippin'
Bound to catch a Slob slippin' (CaRIPS!!!)*
(*CAlifornia Revolutionary Independent Pistol Slinger*
)
Gun him down like a hunter cause it's Slob season
Don't ask why
They crippin', see the reason

ass in there
You can't run from the hellrazor
And if you fark with the blue team we damn sure got to
fade ya
Just like we fade them muthafarkin' [censored]
It's time to put the pigs away and let 'em C-C's out
to box
And let the Sin known cause fool this is Compton
East Side killa knows that's always mobbin' up fools
Deuce Five Deuce with a district
A G born in Compton if your monkey ass is listenin'
Somebody shoulda taught you from the old school
Like them mark-ass nubians With Attitude
But we fark 'em
Cause they don't mean shiat anyway
And where I'm from
You'll make them muthafarkas look fake
Straight balling on them thangs in the gangsta lean
One down ass Crip straight bustin'
And won't hesitate to peel a cap
But I'd rather make snaps, bust raps than to bust caps
(yeah that's right)
Cause it's all about survival (yeah)
And rather you slangin', hangin' or bangin'
Your life is just as short as vital side (oh yeah)
I'm mentally depressin'
Listen to the Crip and learn a quick brief, listen up

Too late. Most cities in California and those in neighboring Southwest states already mimic parts of South-Central. South Central just gets more publicity because Hollywood is just next door.

65 bucks to see a bunch of losers too mentally weak and stupid to make the right choices in life? Yeah I'll pass.

What they should do is bus all the little kids in the ghetto out into the nicer neighborhoods and tell them, this is where you could end up if you work hard, stay committed to school, and don't join gangs. Then they should take them to the cemetery, prisons, and the even uglier parts of the ghetto, and say this is where 90% of you will end up if you decide to join a gang.

Kevin Malone, a former Dodgers general manager, sits on the board of the Dream Center's charitable arm and has become one of Lomas' chief supporters. Malone said he has become involved in human-rights causes, such as combating human trafficking. He said the possibility of introducing self-sustaining economic development into the city's poorest neighborhoods is no less of a human rights issue.

You understand thast most gang killings are over territory to sell crack, right? They already have jobs that pay a hell of alot better than your typical cubicle rat. Tax free. And work is considered rolling around town high all day with your homies and hoes blastin' your competition.

Which career path do you think appeals more to adoloscent and uneducated teens?

The part about the article that really cracked me up was how they were going to use the proceeds to make 'microloans' to 'inner city entrepreneuers,' which is political correct code for hooking up your homie with drug money. The part about sending a vandal graffitti artist to art school was pretty good too.

These people are farking worthless and always will be. There is enough social mobility in that city to get out of the ghetto if they really don't like the lifestyle.

In Vancouver, BC the Downtown East Side is "the poorest postal code in Canada". It is rife with poverty, prostitution, HIV infection, drugs, etc... and is a place that people generally avoid, as it is not all that safe. However, the tourism guides love to say sh*t like this:

There's no argument that Vancouver's East Side has character - enough to make Harry Dean Stanton jealous, in fact... but with diverse elements such as Commercial Drive, Chinatown, Strathcona and the Pacific National Exhibition, it's no surprise that east of Cambie is as famous for its gritty authenticity as it is for its history...So go ahead, hang a right off of Cambie Street. Vancouver's East Side is something worth experiencing!

Drives me mental.

I'm thinking I should get a bus full of white ghetto wiggah wannabees who spend their days "representin'" in front of the Pottery Barn at the mall and drop them off in the middle of the South Side of Chicago or Detroit. Yes, that would be delightful.

Well, having been to East Van and various bad neighborhoods in the US, I'd take East Van in a heart beat. Even Strathcona (let alone Commercial Drive or Chinatown) isn't anywhere near as screwed up as the bad areas of Baltimore or LA. Even South Seattle/Rainer Valley gives East Van a good name, and it's mild as far as US bad neighborhoods go. Shoot, East Van may be the poorest part of Canada, but it was cleaner and better kept than the poor neighborhoods I've been to in Montreal. At least in East Van there wasn't dog mess all over the sidewalks, and the panhandlers usually stopped harassing you after you told them you were broke.
