For the four thousandth straight day, I have ignored the three broadcast networks' news.

First and foremost, cut out that -gate shiat already, subtard.

Seriously. This is becoming Gate-gate.

You are either an ignorant doofus, or a bald-faced liar, subby, not that those are mutually exclusive. NBC news had a piece on this tonight. So did BBC America. Now STFU and find something else to whine and snivel about.

2009-12-04 08:50:36 PM
Didn't watch NBC news this evening, submitter?

2009-12-04 08:54:42 PM
I remember this one. Too bad subby didn't.

COMPLETELY debunked by xiaodown in the link I posted above.

I'm a skeptic, it is bad science first and foremost and is the only real reason I'm a skeptic, and even I think this is of no importance. It confirms what was already suspected and had been suggested.

However... For the farktards out there, there is NO excuse to not be good stewards of our planet. It is the only one we have and the only one we have to hand off to our children.

2009-12-04 08:57:08 PM
Keep fighting the good fight, subby. One of these days they'll all see you for the hero, standing up for truth and justice, that you are.

2009-12-04 08:58:12 PM
Shame on the modmin who greened this pile of shiat when the original pile of shiat from the same damned source got a very deserved red.

HansensDisease: On the other hand, maybe people will stop submitting this talking point once this thread hits the main page

Unlikely...

The networks have news programs? When did they start that?

2009-12-04 09:07:22 PM
If only they had hacked into Tiger Woods's phone.

TFA, dated 8:45 AM today: In the event that ABC News, NBC News and CBS News missed the news, the Media Research Center (MRC) is today rushing each of them a copy of the Times story, in the hopes that armed with this new information, they will finally report a story that has been roiling nearly everywhere else for a fortnight.

oldebayer: NBC news had a piece on this tonight.

Looks like the MRC plan worked.

2009-12-04 09:28:49 PM
Thanks a lot, Subby. You could have said "spoiler alert" before revealing those details...

I guess when the "controversy" is totally made up the "controversy" over lack of coverage will be too.fark off, I hope you, your children, and your dog are hit with giant blocks of icy sewage at terminal velocity.

Maybe because only the fringe and the butthurt minority thinks it's such a big deal....?

I have you Farkied as "Reads what he wants to believe" for some reason. Odd. Perhaps a little hypocritical for you to comment thusly, then, hmm?

Man, Fark really has a hard on for this one eh?

Maybe it has something to do with journalistic integrity... or Tiger Woods getting his ass beat by his wife.

I have no intentions of breeding (nor willing partners.) So I feel the need to use it all up lest it be wasted on other people.

faking data is one thing, that you think that is small is humorous.

The complete discrediting of the peer review process is the story here. Politics has to big a role in climate science, and this is the damning part of these emails.

Is this my final chance to get trapped in the NYPL with Jakey G?

/I've burned up so many already

2009-12-04 10:11:23 PM
So how exactly is this "growing"? As far as I'm aware I heard the facts some time ago and they haven't changed.

Is there some gathering snowball affecting other climate studies I should be aware of?

2009-12-04 10:12:35 PM
So, should I buy short sleeves or sweaters? Which is it today?

2009-12-04 10:13:36 PM
Perhaps it's not a big deal because the opinion of lay people when it comes to science should only be taken seriously insomuch as it affects policy, but American media thrives on drama and stupidity, so it is odd they haven't jumped on this.

2009-12-04 10:14:04 PM
No-one watches those hacks anyway. Report actual news?

This thing has been covered to a far more ridiculous degree than it ever should have been. The e-mails were about as damning as my grandmother's Fish&Chip recipe, the code turned out to be about as real as SkinnyHead's GED in law, and the data that was supposedly deleted is freely available to any schmuch willing to put in the leg work to get it from the same source that the CRU did.

The only thing that could be argued as even being potentially damning is the FOIA request, and at worst that shows that scientists with more important shiat to do aren't willing to be at the beck and call of a bunch of willfully ignorant, attention whoring contrarians.

2009-12-04 10:16:10 PM
I know when there's a big news story brewing, the first thing I do is sit around and wait until whenever time the networks show their news programs.

/Don't even know who anchors those disasters.

2009-12-04 10:16:45 PM
Honestly I think this story is vastly over reported. If the media actually picked up every dumbass conspiracy theory that right wing bloggers created there wouldn't be any time for anything else. It's a waste of time to indulge their delusions.

2009-12-04 10:17:33 PM
Well, if this isn't the smoking gun that proves that teabaggers are being discriminated against and should be looking at petitioning themselves as a protected class of citizenry, I don't know what is.

2009-12-04 10:17:56 PM
The well known members of the Great Climate-based Communist Plot, the BBC, have in fact had at least two features on it in two separate editions of Newsnight.

One of them even featured a professional programmer looking over the code who'd.... gasp! found a bug. No mention of what effect that had, though. They also had some government scientist who pointed out that there were at least two other independent reproductions of the result and plenty of other evidence besides that.

2009-12-04 10:18:33 PM
I bet the Media Research Center had no problem with the New York Times taking the lead in blindly supporting Bush in his runup to the Iraq War and all the false info his Administration fed to the Media. And the Times wasn't even the only Liberal Media company that ate it all up.

2009-12-04 10:18:52 PM
I'm going to need the story on a a site that's not wharrgarrbling "the liberals" every other sentence before I take this more seriously.

Besides, it doesn't actually -change- anything. The only thing it's lacking is a conservative-made photoshop declaring "Dr. Jones is a douchenozzle, your argument is invalid."

I guess when web links to news sites are they same things as TV network news coverage then well the controversy over the irritation about the controversy will blow the sewage back, globally-warmed and tasty, in your general direction

2009-12-04 10:19:01 PM
You're preaching to the choir subby. This is the 2nd month the media has ignored the growing controversy of what Glenn Beck did in 1990 and who he did it to. Why aren't they investigating? Are they scared of the deplorable illegal acts that Glenn could've committed in that year?

Phil Jones resigned from Hadley CRU. Also the UN is looking into the climate scandal. that seems somewhat newsworthy.

Well, that proves...nothing.

I didn't see any substance of what was the essence of "ClimateGate" in TFA. I clicked on "Day 12 of ClimateGate Coverup" to hope to get the meat and potatoes. But nope.

I'm guessing subby smells his own farts too. That is an absurd source. USA Today is watching.

Can't we all just stop caring already.

Drew knows that these threads make money. Just like he did with the Iran revolt threads, they'll stop greening every right-wing nutjob with a blog when his beer money gets threatened by the shear number of complaints.

/and schmuch in my other comment should be schmuck
