I, didn't realize, that William, Shatner, was a Farker.

2009-12-04 05:42:44 PM
What about Zach Braff and Chloe Sevigny?

Oh, I guess they're sitting at the "ghosts of hipsters past" table with Parker Posey and Vincent Gallo.

You're not allowed to be allergic to wheat and soy? Really?

Let me guess. You bought a bag full of commas at the beginning of the fiscal year. But now you realize that in order to write them off as a business expense, you need to use them all up. And it's December right now.

Allow me to point out how disturbed I am that Natalie Portman is old enough to play people's mothers.

Who's doing the soundtrack?

The Shins, Arcade Fire, or Karen O?

Sgt Otter: Who's doing the soundtrack?

Oh, I have a rough idea... (pops)

How are either of those two "hipstery"?

Ah Sundance, movies as formulaic, if not more so, than Hollywood, yet somehow they're better cause they're "indie" *facepalm*

I'd watch anything with Zooey Deschanel. Maybe not more than once, though.

Find a way to get Ellen Page and Micheal Cera and we may have a critical mass of hipsterism.

Can't we stop arguing and instead post photos of Natalie and Zooey?

I dunno about you guys and gals, but I really liked "500 Days of Summer".

I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Brick and Lookout were both good movies.

2009-12-04 08:05:13 PM
You can call Joseph Gordon-Levitt any name you want and still not diminish his awesomeness, even if only judging by "Mysterious Skin." I, for one, am looking forward to his career.

If its a good soundtrack it will be Electric Wizard, Clutch, High on Fire, Scissorfight, Truckfighters, Acid King, Hermano, ya know.......good shiat like that.

cameroncrazy1984: You're not allowed to be allergic to wheat and soy? Really?

Must be tough for Zooey to be a vegan allergic to soy. She must primarily subsist on nuts for protein.

I've got an idea for a movie that stars Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel and myself. It's called "The man who could start a fire from the friction coming off of his penis". Probably will be hard to obtain a commercial backer for my script, though, since I doubt the movie will last more than 3 minutes.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks like Heath Ledger.

A LOT!!

Watching "10 things I hate about you" is farking unreal!

Oh well, since they're only 2 years apart in ageand he's REALLY talented, I say we should use Joseph as a replacement actor for the Joker in the third Batman movie.

Brick
was an awesome movie, though I could actually understand what they were saying in Assassination of a High School Principal

There was a Joseph Gordon-Levitt love-in a couple weeks back, in which I suggested JGL for The Joker and Neil Patrick Harris for The Joker.

I'd pay to see that.

Eerily, everything about JGL's character in this film seems to be channeling Heath Ledger in his final months. His hair and beard, the way he's dressed, the strange tats, even the fact he's a "anarchical trickster" *cough (Joker) cough* is very creepy and disturbing. Wonder if it was the author's intention or if it was spun that way by the filmmakers? Unintentional? Maybe, but it sure looks like on purpose to me.

You should have phrased that to include some kind of sausage reference. I am disappointed.

Won't people be confused by having the Joker twice in one film?

I respectfully disagree with you about Bored to Death. I thought it was witty and delightful.

It had funny moments here and there but I just got tired of it after about 4 episodes.

Now if it were directed by Wes Anderson, the hipster readings would go off the chart... or has Wes Anderson become too mainstream to be considered hipster anymore?

I haven't seen Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox yet, kind of hesitant. I've seen a lot of Wes Anderson films that i like, but I think it's mostly because they had Bill Murray in them.

It's good, very charming movie, Clooney and Streep are fantastic, the animation is top-notch.

It's also ridiculously Anderson, and doesn't escape his weird emotional abandonment daddy issues. It's not quite as steeped in it as The Royal Tennenbaums or The Life Aquatic, but it's there. Overall, good enough for me to get over my irritation with Anderson's extremely limited-yet-quirky pastiche.

Also, can we all chip in and maybe buy that man some new fonts and overlay colors? Someone needs to explain to him that there are more typefaces than blocky sans serif in yellow-orange.

If you like "What about Bob?", then don't go. Unless you're a five year old stuck in a time warp.

And I'd pay to kill you for suggesting such tripe. Slapstick Batman is so 1960s, and that's all that cast is good for.

Oh, good, another movie catering to an incredibly xenophobic tribal subculture whose primary source of pride is not belonging to a xenophobic tribal subculture. The complete lack of understanding of what constitutes irony is at best a secondary point.

I'll be sure to see it. Or at least a VHS of it when I finally snap and start setting things that make the world a worse place on fire.
