So, India was the idea?
They couldn't just go to Korea?
It sounds like a mess
Of travel. I guess
They really enjoy diarrhea.

It's great to see they traveled across the globe to do their part to help save the environment.

If only one member of the group had heard of WebEx.

Sounds like my high school reunion.
Which I'll never figure out how to arrange.

Doesn't Bangalore have some sort of call center that could handle this conference?

It's okay. San Francisco has absolutely no budget, transportation or crime problems anyway, and Gavin is really really good at cutting ribbons and starting parades. Plus, he never really wanted to be governor. And even if he did, now he just wants to spend time with his new baby and Twitter, okay?!?!?!?!!!!!

/*sobs* Leave Gavin alone!

So even with the Cisco Globalization Chief, they still couldn't do this by teleconference?

2009-12-02 04:51:43 PM
But did they spot any red balloons?!?!?!?!

Gavin just got tired of all those pesky reporters and decided to leave town. Again.

You're really on a roll today. You must have smoked some of Alanis Morrisette's creativity herbs. Check the music tab if you dont know what I'm speaking of.

Mayors should not be going on trips like this. There is no reason why a mayor of a US city should get involved in the affairs of a foreign one. If I were a tax payer in SF, I'd be raising Hell.

So Newsome flew to India to use telepresence to talk to the mayor of Amsterdam? That's like going to the moon to call Houston.

2009-12-02 05:06:42 PM
maybe next time they want to discuss how they can tax the common man into oblivion, they could just use google wave. you know, to save the "earth".

He goes from Nashville to Norway, Bonaire to Zimbabwe,
Chicago to Czechoslovakia, and back?

Well, he'll probably ransack Pakistan and run a scam in Scandinavia next.

/First thing I thought of. Don't know why.

His next stop will reportedly be D.C., San Antone, the Liberty Town, Boston, Baton Rouge, Tulsa, Austin, Oklahoma City, and Seattle. The old boy may be barely breathing by the time he makes it back to San Franciso.

I don't understand why we need very many big discussions around "sustainability". It's not like all the obvious solutions have been completed yet, so it's hardly necessary to start looking for more in-depth or complicated ways to work on the problem.

The conclusions that come out of these things always seem so common sense. "Hey, we should all pledge to improve public transportation! Good thing we all spent millions of dollars and thousands of man hours to figure that out!"

Gavin wanted how to best set up whores in store fronts and the mayor of Amsterdam wanted to know how he could bang his best friend's wife and get away with it so it was a natural synergistic meeting with an exchange of ideas.

Oh good, Fark has a Bangalore tag.

/also, Gavin is Christian Bale's twin.

Isn't the Mayor of SF really bloating up his carbon footprint by flying to India?

/ Why can't they teleconference, like in the CISCO ads?

Or, just realize that he's just the mayor of a medium-sized American city and that 99% of the issues he should addresses are within a half hour commute of his house.

"San Francisco mayor goes to Bangalore, India to talk to Amsterdam mayor about Seoul, South Korea"

Hey, it was the San Francisco mayor. What's unusual enough about that to merit a greenlight?

I'm sick of this spoiled brat mayor. Its incredible how high.fees are going, with cutbacks on services while he pulls this crap.

Man, Old Gavin spends more time on vacation that GW Bush did. Amazing. What gets me is that he seems to think San Francisco = Silicon Valley. Straining for relevance in the bigger world, Gavin is.

Another bright guy who squandered his opportunities - born on third base, thought he'd hit a Triple!

At least we can say that he's not obviously corrupt like some of his predecessors.

Welcome to California... We have the worst politicians in the country. Vilargrossa is no better. This is probably the most important thing we can get on the ballot:

Limit California's Legislature to Part Time and cut thier pay in half. (new window)

I hope we can get the signatures.

The frisco mayor is a F'ing tool.

These streets are horrible, gas pipes explode routinely...
the city is going broke and has a worse TB level than many 3rd world countries.

Keep him India.
