Um, he's not the oldest living yankee anymore...

Seeing as how dictionary.com defines yankee as 'a native or inhabitant of the United States', i'm sure there are plenty of people older than him in the US.

I hear that not all of the Cleveland Indians are verifiably of Native American descent, either.

God Speed, real Yankee.

\if only there were more than three of them, maybe four if you count Matsui, on the current team....

Sad. WWII probably kept him out of the Hall of Fame.

Matsui is the prototype for the attitude a player should have. The guy apologized to the fans for breaking his wrist while diving for a ball. That's a guy that doesn't have a sense of entitlement.

He's missing some important credentials for the "Oldest living Yankee" moniker

Good. Who cares? He swung a piece of wood and hit a ball with a funny hat on.

The balls don't wear hats, genius.

What is so funny about the hat? The short pants, maybe, but not the hat.

Rumor has it Steinbuyer is going to cryogenically freeze his head and clone more ball players. Because Boston is about to unleash a whole team of TeddyBallgame clones and control the world.

/just a rumor.

I hate the Yankees, and I love Hideki Matsui. I was at Yankee Stadium that night in '07 where seven Yankees hit a total of eight home runs. Matsui jacked two. A-Rod, who was sitting on 499 home runs that night and who bats before Matsui, didn't hit any.
Someone asked Matsui if he felt any pressure, and he said, "No. Everyone was in the bathroom when I came up to bat."

And not a word about him here in Dayton. I had no clue he lived here, but then again, why would anybody want to admit that?

As my uncle said when Thurman Munson died, the only good Yankee is a dead Yankee.

Taking into consideration his 3 years out of baseball during WW2, Heinrich's stats are remarkably similar to Bobby Abreu's
Decent power, high on-base percentage. (look at the "162 Game Avg" lines on both.

Henrich's Career Stats
