Uchiha_Cycliste: Epsilon: Kierkegaard's Pseudonym: Yeah, even if you manage to fatally overdose on Tylenol or some shiat, it's going to be through utterly destroying your liver and kidneys. So not only does the person have to deal with all of the emotions they couldn't deal with originally, they get to deal with them and then die regardless of whether or not they want to live.

This is true. Although Tylenol and alcohol are a dangerous mix because they are both processed through the liver, it is a lousy combination for suicide. The reason being, you don't die suddenly from a damaged liver. You are likely to wake up the next morning with a hangover, a severely farked up liver, and a wonder as to why it didn't work. Then your messed up liver will make your life even more unbearable than it was before.

What you really need is to mix a nervous system depressant, such as sleeping pills (lots of them), with lots of alcohol. That is much more likely to do the job overnight and ensure you don't wake up in the morning.

You guys are making it way to complicated. Forget painkillers/sleeping pills/alcohol. Takes hours and you will get discovered/rescued and probably just fark up your still-living body.

Nitrous Oxide, my friends. Easy to get at the local baking goods store, completely 100% painless, completely 100% panicless, and you go out with a smile and a pleasent spacey feeling.

Use a tank/regulator and face mask (like at the dentist) if you can get it. But the cheap and easy alternative is a box of whippets and hefty bag and a rubber band. Easy breazy.

Satan_Himself: I banged your sister: Sorry, that was a typo, was supposed to say drama queen. As far as the other shiat goes, I don't care. In nature, predators keep the herd strong by weeding out the weak. We no longer have predators, so they must do it themselves. I call them quitters. I have no patience for quitters. If they have such problems, maybe their genes do not really need passed on. Evolution is still in motion...

/and yes, I am a dick in the morning before coffee

Anything else about how awesome you are? Tell us how much you bench. I'm sure it's totally a lot.

How awesome I am? WTF are you talking about? There's nothing in my post about me you tard. But if you expect me to feel compassion for quitters, then fark you. My aunt killed herself and it broke my grandmothers heart. I loved her, but I have no pity on my aunt for doing what she did. She did not have to do that, but she did anyway. She was not unloved. We have a big family and no one ever let her down. I have no farking pity for selfish people. I was so mad at her that I didn't even go to her funeral. I will not be like you and cry and whine about the poor souls that kill themselves so you can go eat a bowl of dicks you little asshat.

or Noriko's Dinner Table?
Both great movies.

Thanks to both of you those two movies are now in my Netflix list. If either of you are in the thread, how much liquor will I need afterwards to be able to sleep?

All of it, the whole thing.
Especially if you watch it all w/o and fast forwarding etc.
Enjoy! Then again, maybe you won't be moved by it at all, you are a farker.

Ah, so you officially admit to having no clue about the biochemistry of depression. Thank you for the clarification.

I like it even better when I read between the lines, and interpret his use of souls to mean that suicides are damned. I think he believes wholeheartedly in a Christian religion, but not Science. In short, nothing you will say is worth the effort, these are ignorant views that are immutable.

I ride the train through Palo Alto to/from work every day, and it annoys me to no end when some idiot decides to use a train as the instrument of their demise.

First, it shuts down all the trains in both directions for a minimum of 2 hours, then they have to figure out how to get the trains to pass on a single track to bypass the site. This sometimes requires you to go backwards.

So if you're really lucky, you're looking at a +4 hour delay on what shouldn't be more than a 80-90minute ride (assuming you were going from end to end.) Thanks, idiot. I personally wish Caltrain would start fining the victim's family for the delay. At a minimum this would be 10 trains, filled with roughly 400 computer professionals each, at 4 hours of billable time at $100/hr...a cool $4mil should do the trick. Oh and throw in salaries for the engineers and conductors, plus counseling for the conductor...let's call it a cool $5mil. I'll let the police and corner send their bill separately.

Doesn't Caltrain have wireless now? Why can't they work while they wait? Or hop over to a cafe until things get moving again?

My wife is Viet and hates the Japanese with an unholy passion. I see her sitting beside me with a giant bowl of popcorn and a giant grin on her face as that train comes in to the station.

I on the other hand merely see asian facial features on children and think of my own, so it will likely creep me out.

Enjoy! It's a movie you'll never forget. And likely never see anything like it again Noriko's dinner table is neither a sequel or prequel to Suicide club, it sort of exists in the same universe. Though the stories use some of the same scenes and events, they are completely unrelated otherwise with neither reinforcing the other. It's good to know that before hand and be expecting more out of it that you should.

Did the third movie along this concept ever get finished or do you know what happened to it. Wikipedia talked about a third movie along the same kind of plotline being made, with filming starting in '06, but didn't have a name or working title for it.

I haven't heard or seen anything. Interestingly enough I was introduced to the Franchise at Blockbuster. I saw Noriko's dinner table on the shelf and watched it first. Then immediately afterward rented Suicide club through the mail. (No store had it in stock). So I watched them backwards, and I rather liked it that way. NDT has a more compelling story and more important character development. I was introduced to their universe through Noriko and her little sister. Being unsullied by the first movie, I could appreciate this movie more for what it tried to offer. I would almost doing the same.

Screw the maladjusted children. Think of the railroad engineers who have to deal with the knowledge that they killed a person, and had no choice in the matter.

Railroad engineers don't kill anyone. Sir Isaac Newton kills them. It's all a matter of the laws of motion. All the engineer can do is lean on the horn and set the brakes, the rest is cold arithmetic.

They should both show up at the same time. I'll give NDT a go first and see how that plans out. Thanks for the advise.

/Blockbuster really had that? Wow.

Towards Halloween they have those special movies they shelve that are really scary you know. This was one of those. I was amazed too, and pleasantly surprised. I'll also add IIRC Suicide club was more gruesome/gory with many more wacky suicides. NDT had a much better story, better characters and was emotionally more touching/painful.

Yes, but do the tentacles play a key role in the plot? That's the real mark of a good Japanese film!

I saw the train scene and roof jump scene for Suicide Club on Youtube, so I figure I'm prepared for the worst there.

Ahhhh ha ha ha ha, no.

Fortunately their is no tentacle rape, keeping this juuuuust on the legit side of film making, in other words actual cinema. (At least NDT)

Playing with a train is like tuggin' on supermans cape.
It needed to happen.
With any luck, we'll be reading about the parents having a tragic train accident as well.
