I remember on a field trip in middle school, a friend of mine threw a can of coke and hit a kid in the head. He got a good size lump on his head from it. I however laughed my ass off. A canned beverage can be a dangerous weapon in the right hands.

Not real Irish. Cans are too small a container. Real Irish drink whiskey and have a keg refrigerator.

Maybe she's Scotch-Irish.

As I went home on Monday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a horse outside the door where my old horse should be
Well, I called me wife and I said to her: Will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that horse outside the door where my old horse should be?

Ah, you're drunk,
you're drunk you silly old fool,
still you can not see
That's a lovely sow that me mother sent to me
Well, it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But a saddle on a sow sure I never saw before

And as I went home on Tuesday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a coat behind the door where my old coat should be
Well, I called me wife and I said to her: Will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that coat behind the door where my old coat should be

Ah, you're drunk,
you're drunk you silly old fool,
still you can not see
That's a woollen blanket that me mother sent to me
Well, it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But buttons in a blanket sure I never saw before

And as I went home on Wednesday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a pipe up on the chair where my old pipe should be
Well, I called me wife and I said to her: Will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that pipe up on the chair where my old pipe should be

Ah, you're drunk,
you're drunk you silly old fool,
still you can not see
That's a lovely tin whistle that me mother sent to me
Well, it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But tobacco in a tin whistle sure I never saw before

And as I went home on Thursday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw two boots beneath the bed where my old boots should be
Well, I called me wife and I said to her: Will you kindly tell to me
Who owns them boots beneath the bed where my old boots should be

Ah, you're drunk,
you're drunk you silly old fool,
still you can not see
They're two lovely Geranium pots me mother sent to me
Well, it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But laces in Geranium pots I never saw before

And as I went home on Friday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a head upon the bed where my old head should be
Well, I called me wife and I said to her: Will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that head upon the bed where my old head should be

Ah, you're drunk,
you're drunk you silly old fool,
still you can not see
That's a baby boy that me mother sent to me
Well, it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But a baby boy with his whiskers on sure I never saw before

Not much in the way of whiskey eh?

Scotch = Whiskey OR put an end to nip in the bud, put the lid on; ruin, wreck, destroy, smash, shatter, demolish, frustrate, thwart; informal put paid to, put the kibosh on, scupper, scuttle.

Scottish = people from Scotland.

In other news-

Mom?

A few years ago there was an Irishman who actually sued a car rental firm in Florida after he got drunk and had an accident. The lawsuit said "Because of his cultural heritage the rental firm should have known he would be likely to drink to excess."
Some folks hate stereotypes. And some try to milk them for everything they're worth.

You do realize that the Irish aren't always drunk, right? Look at me. I'm... Well, I'm a bad example.

Uh, are you asking for Scots whisky fans to correct you on your spelling?

She sounds like fun. Mother, want another?

Her son, who was uninjured, was only 16 at the time of the assault.

Only?

Her son, who was 16 at the time, was being an unbelievable dick and quite drunk. Being a good Irish Catholic mother, the woman didn't mention this to the Gardai as this would be humiliating to her. As the wee dick had been getting full and being a dick since he was 13 her nerves were gone. She lashed out, and for feck sake, didn't the wee spoiled dick call the police.

Now she's properly humiliated.

Mothers, beat your we shi*tes now, before they make you out to be the bad ones.

Broken fingers can't call 999

The article does not mention what brand of beer it was. Guinness is a heavy beer and probably more painful then a nice imported american beer.

seems to be a quite a few drunk/irish threads this week.

There haven't been Scots-Irish in Ireland for 200+ years. It's pretty much an American ethnicity.

/maybe the American ethnicity

My fiance's family is Irish through and through, and this is something I could bet my engagement ring that my future mother-in-law has probably done before. She's not one for getting terribly drunk, but her temper is legendary.

/Cool story, sis.
//Would love to see her do this to my future brother-in-law.
