The protesters also threw chocolate eclairs at the consulate, shouting "Let's bombard the consulate!"

They then wandered away shouting "Let's wander away from the consulate"

Thanks to George W. Bush, everybody loves us sooo much.

Ol' W. is finding out that the world isn't like his fraternity, where you can pay people to like you.

Can we get a real president here?

2003-03-26 02:26:47 PM
I'm not going to mention what I first thought they meant by "chocolate bombs"...

2003-03-26 02:27:09 PM
Chocolate frosted sugar bombs?

2003-03-26 02:27:50 PM
Wow. Way to make a statement.
Noooo, please don't attack us with yummy food items!
Still more fairly-idiotic hippies.

2003-03-26 02:27:50 PM
I pelted my toilet with a "chocolate bomb" once.

Several times, actually.

2003-03-26 02:28:01 PM
Chocolate out a my ass I say...

2003-03-26 02:28:42 PM
Thats a pretty "sweet" way to protest.

2003-03-26 02:30:32 PM
Where were the Brazilian nuts?

/lame

2003-03-26 02:30:44 PM
Was there hidden meaning by throwing "French Pastry" at an American Embassy?

2003-03-26 02:31:48 PM
They should throw coffee beans and cocaine.

"As a Brazilian I am worried that one day (U.S. President George W.) Bush will want something in Brazil," said Rafael Goncalves a 22-year-old graphic designer as he stood in frnt of the consulate in Rio. "He has already proved that he does not need a reason to take it."

What the hell does Brazil have that we might want? Trees maybe, we if we want them we will take them from the canadians. It is much closer.

"As a Brazilian I am worried that one day (U.S. President George W.) Bush will want something in Brazil," said Rafael Goncalves a 22-year-old
The only things Brazil has that we would want are it's women and we don't need war to take them only thing we need and have is good ol' american money

2003-03-26 02:32:53 PM
Heh, when I read the headline I thought they were imitating the monkeys at your local zoo.

Let's just say never piss off the monkeys, the little bastards can fling "chocolate" quite a distance.

2003-03-26 02:33:55 PM
That wasn't chocolate.

We'll never have need to attack a democracy. What is this guy smoking?

Funny I think the only thing in Brazil some of us want is bush. Some one set up us the Brazilian Playboy pics.

From the article In Portuguese, chocolate eclairs are called "bombas de chocolate," which translates as "chocolate bombs."

Actually it doesn't translate as chocolate bombs it translates as chocolate eclairs as you clearly stated in the first half of the sentence when you said "chocolate eclairs are called..."

I think the fact that this annoys me means I am destined for an early death from heart failure.

2003-03-26 02:39:15 PM
What a bunch of Noobs. Someone send them the videos of us rioting.

2003-03-26 02:39:41 PM
You know, all these people always say "I'm against the war because I don't want innocent people to die." I guess they'd rather we do nothing, and allow Saddam Hussein to kill far MORE people than what's going to get hit by the occasional stray bullet or bomb. In far more gruesome ways, as well. Last I checked, the US troops weren't feeding anybody into plastic cutters.

Brazil nuts! Delicious, crunchy Brazil nuts! We want them all! Send in the 82nd Airborne

And pick up a few cases of Brahma Chop beer. And a shrubbery.

Maybe so Tigger, but I was thinking the same thing myself. English major in me coming out perhaps.

Hey Kid - when you start your comments with generalizations like "all these people" and "always" and then follow it up with the most simplified summary of a very complex matter, it makes you sound like a Bush

2003-03-26 02:43:36 PM
I have many Brazilian friends, and man, are they left-wing, pacifist, anti-Bush and anti-war.

You can send them mountains of facts, proving that Iraq did have WMD, proving Iraq hasn't accounted for what they had, proving the entire world required Iraq actively compy and disarm, proving diplomatic efforts and economic sanctions have failed; proving Saddam Hussein's brutality to his own people.

Their response? "blah-blah-blah Bush is a cowboy; blah-blah-blah blood for oil."

Come to think of it, they are just like the left-wing, fact-ignoring idiots in the USA.

But their beaches are great, and their women are hot and brunette. Yum!

2003-03-26 02:43:47 PM
Willy Wonka surrenders.

2003-03-26 02:44:18 PM
Tigger - "bombas" are bombs, what I think the biased reported wanted to say is that in a literal translation it would be chocolate bombs.

2003-03-26 02:45:06 PM
I'm not gonna bother reading the article, but based on the headline I bet the people in the embassy are thinking "Stupid brazillians! Throwing chocolate accomplishes NOTHING!" while eating the delicious chocolate bombs.

2003-03-26 02:45:12 PM
Check out this article in NY Times on other protests around the world:

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/26/international/worldspecial/26CND-PROT.html

I hope the Americans traveling abroad right now have the sense to say their Canadian.

2003-03-26 02:46:31 PM
I hope none of that involves the 'Hershey Squirts"

2003-03-26 02:46:54 PM
And I hope those same Americans have the sense to pronounce "about" as "aboot"

The French did the same, and the germans, and the russians, and the japanese... Can you see the pattern here?

BTW, pretty cool nick, if it means what I think it means.

2003-03-26 02:46:58 PM
I have to admit, I REALLY thought "chocolate bombs" was a euphamism.

2003-03-26 02:47:04 PM
mmmmm....chocolate.....(drool)

2003-03-26 02:47:19 PM
I've never been to Brazil. Do all the women look like they do in Reef ads?

Though they all have much smaller butts than they used to in those ads.

2003-03-26 02:49:22 PM
Ninja_Pancakes

I hope you don't honestly think I'm stupid enough not to have worked that out on my own...

limitations of the medium I suppose

2003-03-26 02:49:55 PM
You can send me one of those Mother Of All Bombas anytime...Mmmm...

2003-03-26 02:51:23 PM
At least they wern't throwing 'Brazilian Caviar'...

2003-03-26 02:52:11 PM
Tigger : Every Brazilian wonem look line a Reef ad just like every american is a cowboy and/or movie star and every japanese is a samurai and/or ninja.

2003-03-26 02:52:33 PM
"I hope the Americans traveling abroad right now have the sense to say their Canadian."

I hope the Americans traveling abroard right now would grow a pair and say that they are American if anybody asks them. And if some pussy foreigner wants to take a swing at them, then they'll get an American fist in their nose.

don't be a coward. better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

2003-03-26 02:53:57 PM
Where are these facts you speak of FishingWithFredo?

People don't like the US because they are the biggest threat right now. Simple as that.

2003-03-26 02:54:05 PM
And by "wonem" I mean women.

Dislexycs believe in Dog.

2003-03-26 02:55:53 PM
Manfish - i'm not going to mention that i thought of the same thing. oops. too late.

2003-03-26 02:57:33 PM
i'd like to be bombed with a Brazilian bombshell.

if you know what i mean....wink wink.

2003-03-26 02:58:16 PM
I hope sheena shows up to ask why men like Brazilian women.

Also, I agree with Albo. If you're American say so. If you're for or agains war, say that too. You don't have to be rude but you shouldn't have to be afraid either.

Finally, does it qualify as ironic that we supposedly have to be afraid of violence at the hands of peace activists?
