508 PRODUCTIONS WATCH 4 ME

Unfortunately, comments have been disabled on Youtube so they'll have to read any comments here. (18+ registration required to watch on Youtube.)

I don't think the "threats" are overt enough to be taken as such (There's a mention of the officer and then then sight and the sound of a gunshot. That's not the same as an "I'm going to shoot you.") and can't be taken out of the larger social and political commentary provided by the rap. As videos go, it's by far not the worst I've ever seen.

That's right, I said kill Doug Szathkey!
He makes me mad, chief, always frontin' up my posse
Telling me to keep it down and all that--
He's just a sucker, stepping on my ballsac
Just a stupid neighbor, complaining
Keep it up, I'll call the block association
The one that meets at the end of my fist--
Little doggies, gonna get kissed!
Cutting up my lawn and scattering his clippings!
You think I don't know where my yard begins?
He lives at Springer Road, number three-eleven
Sucker gets home every night around seven.
Kill Doug Szathkey!

FTA: Foley's mother told the Globe her son is no threat to anyone and said he had hoped the rap video might lead to a career in entertainment.

"He thought he was going to make it big one day,'' she said. "They didn't think anything was wrong with what they did.''

I guess mom hasn't seen the video. It's the opposite of entertainment.

Barely literate? 99.6% of YooToob commenters would need a team of skilled editors just to reach that level of linguistic dexterity.

I don't know what attracts the true bottom-of-the-barrel dregs to the YouTube forums, but if there's a dumber forum on the Internet, I hope I never see it.

Ostrich head bury lady say what??

"Foley's mother told the Globe her son is no threat to anyone and said he had hoped the rap video might lead to a career in entertainment."

Which explains why the kids have the common sense of a 4-year old!!!

And by putting someone's specific name in the video they are violating the law .. kiddies. 1st amendment goes out the Window when you publicize a threat aimed at a specific person.

What MOST people don't seem to get is that these Rights also come with responsibilities.

"When you view the brazenness of the threats in a post-9/11 era, it certainly poses concern and we didn't wait,'' New Bedford Police Lt. Jeffrey Silva said.

So, pre 9-11 this would have been different? I'm troubled.

mikemc3: And by putting someone's specific name in the video they are violating the law .. kiddies. 1st amendment goes out the Window when you publicize a threat aimed at a specific person.

But professional rappers do this all the time. Eminem's famous for his thinly veiled threats against his ex-wife, and tons of others have petty feuds with each other so they can sound big threatening each other on their albums.

Personally, I think both the pros and the amateurs should have leeway in their chosen form of art. Just because a rapper says it doesn't mean it's true or is going to be acted upon. But it's silly to say it's OK for the stars to do it but not the kids.

Cut the lady and her son a break; they're from New Bedford. That's where those Einsteins from A Perfect Storm were based. The town is more bad than good, although I know a guy who bought a nice house there in one of the few good sections of that town.

I came here to say this. Seriously, a bunch of Middle Eastern guys put a couple planes into towers in New York City, and that justifies arresting United States citizens for youtube videos that dno't constitute a direct threat? Logic is hard.

Stay away from BMW and lowrider forums. Also, at one time I was researching kidney stone pain and came across a forum aimed solely at people who abuse the system to get pain killers. I'm surprised those guys were coherent enough to turn a computer on.

I don't think the "pros" post the names of their targets so that any fan can do them a favor by looking for said target.
