Wow. Sad.

2003-03-25 08:51:09 AM
Sad, but also encouraging. People who move to this country appreciate it enough to be willing to give their lives for it. An [image from too old to be available] indeed!

DaCricket, nothing needs to be said. That [image from too old to be available] says it all...

Hoooah...[image from too old to be available]
2003-03-25 09:51:26 AM
God bless.

That's incredible.

2003-03-25 11:32:02 AM
We lost a great American.

Not only was Jose Gutierrez willing to risk his life to get here, but he gave his life to ensure others have the same opportunities. He understood that freedom is precious - hopefully his story will help more people realize that.

[image from too old to be available] by every means of the word. Someone who loved this country enough to endanger himself for it, and for us. Sad but inspriring.
2003-03-25 12:30:09 PM
''For him it was a question of honor.''

No questions or doubt he had more honor plus great will and courage than most.

2003-03-25 12:48:03 PM
Undoubtedly a hero, showing his love and pride by volunteering to step in harm's way should situations merit it. RIP fella.

It angers me beyond words that our country let him down by shipping him off to die on foreign soil while invading a country that poses no credible threat to the United States.

good use of the hero tag, though i fear the headline will of course start the obvious flamewar...
2003-03-25 02:14:57 PM
Can we just remove this tragic link when the comments section degenerates into the inevitable flame war?

I'm not an American, but he is still a goddamn [image from too old to be available].
2003-03-25 02:18:44 PM
Who says you have to be first-generation to be an American?
2003-03-25 02:20:25 PM

Live fast, die young, leave a good look'in corpse, and go out shoot'in. God Bless this kid.

How'd you get to Cuba!
In just one day!

I replied with a whole lot of anger!
Blood and guts and a shiat load of danger!

When I get to Afganhistan!
Kaudaffie's going to say!
How'd you get to Afganhistan!
In just one day!

I replied with a whole lot of anger!
Blood and guts and a shiat load of danger!

When I get to Saudie!
Saddam's going to say!
How'd you get to Saudie!
In just one day!

I replied with a whole lot of anger!
Blood and guts and a shiat load of danger!

too bad we don't have more like him.

The life of an honourable man snuffed out in a needless war
2003-03-25 02:22:28 PM
maybe some of these young people today could learn a lesson from this guy, hero!

No more needs to be said.
2003-03-25 02:23:12 PM
Show your love of America... give the gift of blood. I feel sad for his family.

Nice gov't plug though - 'He was fighting for the port city of Umm al Qasr, which is important to the U.S. so we can bring humanitarian aid into the country.'

remember folks, it's all about bringing humanitarian aid to the Iraqis....

says it all
2003-03-25 02:23:43 PM
I've seen the Hero tag used for lots of crazy things (like for a guy lobbying for topless football cheerleaders or some crazy shiat like that), but this guy really deserves it.

2003-03-25 02:23:44 PM
A true hero indeed. Kids should look up to people like him instead of people like Shaq and Kobe and Ray Lewis.

We lost a great American, who was fighting to give other people the chance to taste the freedom we so enjoy.

All you smacktards that are going to start a flamewar here, please, go out and play in traffic for a while.
2003-03-25 02:24:11 PM
Semper Fi!
2003-03-25 02:24:56 PM
Many people who aren't born here really appreciate how great this country is. All you stupid anti-war hippies should thank someone in the military for protecting your right to not groom yourself and protest out in the street without fear that a dictator will kill you.
2003-03-25 02:25:31 PM
Agreed Vejita1975. An orphan, a refugee, an American, and a hero. RIP.

(Are you named after the DBZ Prince of all Saiyans?)
2003-03-25 02:25:32 PM

You are neither Humble or God!
2003-03-25 02:25:50 PM
I can't figure out who some of you guys hate more, Saddam Hussein or Michael Moore.

Get some perspective.
2003-03-25 02:26:11 PM
i'm glad he had some years to enjoy freedom in the us, before he gave his life. it would be nice if the sister could be brought over here to fulfill his wish to have her live here.
2003-03-25 02:26:46 PM
GOD bless that hero
2003-03-25 02:26:57 PM
Sorry, I seem to have lost the abilitude to type today.
2003-03-25 02:28:12 PM
Come on bickering on this thread....can we ever have a non boobies or weener link where there is no bickering?
2003-03-25 02:29:37 PM
Incredible. I hope someone after the war puts in the time to really tell us this story.
2003-03-25 02:29:51 PM
"All you stupid anti-war hippies should thank someone in the military for protecting your right to not groom yourself and protest out in the street"

Ya, cuz if he hadn't died, Saddam would be stopping them from protesting. Asshat. I've served? Have you? Flame away.

A true American in every sense of the word. More Americans should be this AMERICAN. God Bless him and both his families.
2003-03-25 02:31:00 PM
The hero tag is appropriate on several levels.

Whenever some half-wit twists off about immigrants being "freeloaders" and "ruining this country" they should be forced to have this man's image tattooed on their forehead. Immigrants are what made this country great.

Of course now I'm going to catch hell from the Native-Americans.
