Never underestimate the power of self-delusion. They'll be convinced that this is an obvious sign that she has many important things to do, and laud her for her tireless work and dedication to making Murka a better place.

Q: WHY WON'T THE MEDIA LEAVE TRIG ALONE?

A: "Fans weren't told why Palin left without signing everyone's books, but Gordon said a Borders employee told her that Palin and her youngest son, Trig, who accompanied her to the signing, were tired and that Palin's hand was cramping.

Though fans blamed Borders for the gaffe, most of the rules for the book tour were set by those coordinating her tour....."

So, it was Trig's fault.

Where'd IndyStar's crowd size est come from? On-site estimates had the unhappy mob at 4,000 - not 400.

This woman scares me. Not because of her Republican-appointed prowess, but because of how ardent her supporters can be.

I mean, she's dumb. Left-of-the-bell-curve dumb. Yet the guns-n-god side of the conservative spectrum flock to her like she's some sort of female Ted Nugent.

Obama supporters were just as annoying in their messiah complex during the election but at least he's not stupid, just shifty.

Rallying behind this woman is like rallying behind the special needs kid running for class president. Sure it's fun and feels good at first, but nobody takes it seriously. And if they make it to the final ballot, the only reason they're there is because the seniors don't care about what they're leaving behind.

FTFA: "The Noblesville signing was scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Palin arrived early and stayed late"

I guess little things like this don't matter when you just want to hate. You probably want her to apologize for being so popular.

Why are libs so afraid of this woman?

BillCo: Why are libs so afraid of this woman?

Not. I want her to run in 2012, so Obama can pound her into a mash and mix it into his arugula. It's the GOP who should be afraid of her.

We're not afraid of her specifically. She's an idiot who couldn't think her way out of a wet paper bag.

What frightens us are her supporters. These people think she's qualified to run the country. She's not, but that won't stop them from voting for her. A bunch of fat 50 year old women and horny mullet wearing guys do not an intellegent electorate make.

I swear, if Sarah Palin looked like Janet Reno she never would have gotten as far as she has.

zappaisfrank: What frightens us are her supporters.

I'm sorry, but this liberal isn't afraid of her or her supporters. She is a walking unelectable joke. Her followers are a minority of a minority. They may be loud and obnoxious, but they couldn't even get their guy elected in the conservative NY23rd district. And every time she opens her mouth, more independents cringe, and walk one more step away from her and her crazy cult.

The Leftist hunger for change to the society that they hate leads to a hunger for control over other people. And they will do and say anything to get that control: "Power at any price". Leftist politicians are mostly self-aggrandizing crooks who gain power by deceiving the uninformed with snake-oil promises (Stimulus - Cap and Tax -ObamaCare)-- power which they invariably use to destroy. Destruction is all that they are good at. Destruction is what haters do....

The reason I dislike Palin more than youre average GOP nut is that she frankly seems like a bad person, just on a personal level. Ungracious, not nice, petty, small, narcissistic, arrogant. Worse than Bush in that respect. I actually sort of think the GWB of 1999 would try to stay around and sign books for everyone and feel bad if he couldn't.

Why do the liberals hate the news? They claim to be uber-intelligent, but they don't tune in to learn the facts. Of course, if I was a liberal these days, I wouldn't want to watch the news either with that joke that you put in the White House.

2009-11-21 09:43:26 AM
I'm happy about the books she's selling thanks to the controversy over her, but that doesn't mean I think these controversies are justified. Palin holds no public office and, as of yet, is not running for one.

But the Associated Press assigned 11 reporters to "fact-check" her book, while doing nothing like that to fact-check then-candidate Obama's or current Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's no doubt riveting book....

WOW 4 million out of a population of 304 million!!! Such a massive plurality, I don't see how the Democrats will be able to stop that tidal wave of popular support.

/People that think the cable news ratings somehow translate into electoral popularity are simply deluded.

From TFA: "If there's any blame to be placed here, it's not on Sarah Palin," said Dave Arland, 46, Carmel. "She's a busy lady."

She's too busy with all the book signing to...sign some books?

Because the educated and intelligent READ their news in the NYT, the Economist, and other in-depth outlets, whereas subnormal morons get their news from 20 second stories on cable TV, maybe?

Let me translate that for you: "The facts don't support my argument, so I'll just dismiss them." It's a fairly popular liberal approach to dealing with a tough question. Go on back to Mom's basement while the grown-ups discuss this matter.

I see it in my friends. They start almost foaming at the mouth....

Spoken like a true right winger fundie nutcase.

You guys snipe at Obama for the most menial, trivial shiat and when people laugh at this woman, who isn't even a politician anymore, you claim they're "afraid" of her. I remember the uproar over the "potatoe" incident with Quayle and being annoyed by it (that was when being a Republican didn't necessarily mean you were a fundamentalist gun nut homophobe). Quayle looks like a Rhodes Scholar nowadays.

And what's with trotting out her retard kid? He didn't even have his helmet on.

printboy: Alot of parallels with the '30s...Hitler youth (Acorn), brownshirts (SEIU), and this weird, cult-like devotion to someone they really don't know...this is beyond politics....

You political disagreements are one thing, bad history is another. The Brownshirts were middle aged men drawn primarily from the rural part of Germany. They had, at best, a primary education and many of them had none at all. They were poor, they were out of touch with actual facts and they were angry that there way of life was threatened by a phantom political menace spun from nothing by clever manipulators.
The Hitler Youth were poured full of jingoistic rhetoric about the superiority of their Nation, blended with a dogmatic adoration of Hitler. They were indoctrinated by the very same frightened, uneducated farmboys fanatically repeating the same slogans over and over handed down by their political masters.

Now, I ask you, if you really want to use Nazi allusions to contemporary politics: do you really want to accuse the DEMOCRATS of being the Nazi's? Because, you mark yourself as just kind of man the Brownshirts looked for to recruit.
