The "click" isn't a digital-versus-film thing, it's an SLR-versus-"point & shoot" thing. My DSLR has the same shutter mechanism as my old film SLR, so it makes the same "click" sound.

"Someone"? The individual described as a "felon" mentioned was the security guard that was killed inside. This guard had 28 priors, and was pointing an illegally-possessed gun that he had already fired several times at the police who killed him.
