Nakito: Apparently, in those days, there was no greater horror than for a woman to end up a librarian.

No, the problem that she was 25 years old (at least that's how old she was when the movie was filmed) and *gasp* UNMARRIED!!!

And it's a medically proven fact that not getting married and having children causes you to need glasses.

"Implied masturbation?" Medius asked, adjusting his glasses.

That Bookman scene on Seinfeld was the best performance in the whole series. By a guest star at the least.

The fee structure at my library is pretty simple. It is 10¢ per day to a maximum of $3.00. Or the replacement cost of the item lost plus the late fee accumulated to the day it was reported unreturnable.

When I was in grad. school I took out a research journal feeling badass because the undergrads weren't allowed to check out journals. I was allowed it for two weeks and handed it in after my project three days late and had to pay a fine over fifty bucks. There was some sort of stringent punishment for late scientific journals, the lady said she had seen a grad student pay a couple hundred dollars for one once and I should quit complaining. Saw the alumni newsletter a month or so back asking for donations to renovate the library. Pass.

Hah! I've got a book from my HS Library that I never returned. And they're never getting it back, either! :P
