FTVideo:

Anything, whether it's animated, digital, live entertainment ... it's a distraction to drivers and all the driver needs to do is take their eyes off the road for a few seconds and it could cause serious damage.

Yeah, because there aren't any other animated, digital, or live entertainment/distractions on the Vegas Strip.

My last Vegas trip, the Mexicans actually had competition. A bunch of African-American kids (I'd say 10-12 range) were selling candy every 20 feet, shoving it in my face. I don't need it, since I have Diabeetus. I finally snapped, "You kids are as bad as the Mexicans!"

one of my favorite memories of going there. As I recall, they weren't allowed to hand them to kids (I was 15 at the time) and hilarity ensued as I walked between them and my dad.

/If I really wanted one, I would've picked one of the several hundred up from the sidewalk.

No shiat, in the good old days the mob would have broke their knee caps (but then they never would have hired them to pass shiat out ). It seems to me that Steve Wynn has moved them to a smaller area and there's not has many of them in the last few years but they still bug the shiat out of me.

Yeah my Chinese mother in-law who doesn't speak english doesn't want the card dude,
/I hate how they slap the cards

I was in Vegas last week, but I only caught site of the Stripper Mobile once, and unfortunately I wasn't quick enough with my camera to catch a pic.
But I did bring back a few dozen of those stripper trading cards to show off to friends! The wife and I had fun critiquing the different pictures and rates advertised: "Why is Tamara charging $129, but Mercedes is charging $159, when Tamara is much hotter?"

2009-11-14 04:20:21 AM
Bone-HeaD, the better questions are "How come Alice looks exactly like Crissy Moran and Jolene looks like Aria Giovanni?"

Also, it's ridiculous how much they're cramping down on sex in Vegas. I think toplessness is banned from some of the non-stripclub nightclubs and events as well. I know one of the Halloween parties said that the new laws meant that bare breasts and genitals had to be covered.

Gotta make Vegas family-friendly after all. Because nothing is as wholesome as gambling and drinking.

I treated those stipper cards like Pokemon. Gotta collect'em all!

Also, if you flick them back at the Mexicans - it really pisses'em off.

I'm not a big fan of strippers, male or female, but think the Stripper Mobile is a really cool idea. Wish I had gotten to see it. A picture of me standing in front of it would have made a great holiday card.

The last time I was in Vegas ( 5 months ago), I noticed that they seem to be hiding/toning down the sexy stuff - it seems to be not as blatant as it used to be. Is Vegas going the way of 42nd street? Is Disney taking over?

2009-11-14 05:22:43 AM
Boo on them. I liked the stripper mobile - it cracked me up.

2009-11-14 06:30:14 AM
Managed to get a few seconds of footage of it last week. Thought it was a pretty cool idea and it doesn't look like it was cheap to construct. It's a fairly new box truck with glass or plexiglass walls and a brass pole in the middle.

I'd rather see the annoying time-sharing dudes gone first. You can just ignore the porn-slappers, but it annoys the hell out of me being asked 50 times a day "Going to be in town tonight?"

/Am so glad most of the Vegas Time-share companies are bankrupt now.

Maybe I shouldn't have read the comic book thread above this. When I saw "Stripper Mobile", I thought it meant some sort of porno with a parody Batman theme.

"Quick, Titmouse! To the Stripper Mobile!"

If I remember correctly, the mexican's with the escort cards are protected under free speech laws so long as they stay behind the white line painted on the strip sidewalks.
They are banned from the Fremont St. Experience area though.
So why do we have to allow them, but not the stripmobile?

*SigH* I hate how they are turning Vegas in to a family-friendly place, what's next, a pokemon themed casino for kids?

Last time my wife and i went was for a friend's wedding. My wife asked for the "male" cards. all the mexicans looked around until one ran up and gave her a full sheet of untorn male "escorts" The year before I had collected a bunch of female ones so i let her collect male ones. They are annoying but not as bad as the condo people.

I like to collect the more disgusting ones and leave them in odd, embarassing places at work.

What is it with the *smack* *smack* -FLIP- with the card routine? Is there a Mexican School for Porn-Cards? They all repeat the exact same motions; Hey, amigo, I'm still not taking one. Well, maybe that one, thanks!

The basic problem with the strippermobile was the fact that it would distract drivers. That's a big enough problem here already, we don't need to add to it!

Also, the strip is already traffic jam hell, we don't need to have companies using it as ad space. I'd like to see the billboard trucks gone also.

I've never found the card people annoying. They hold out the cards, if you don't want them you don't take them. Maybe there are some out there that are too aggressive but in recent years I've never seen them offered to men who obviously have female companionship already--hold hands with your wife!

The timeshare people are more annoying because normal social courtesy says you respond to someone who speaks to you. On the other hand if you have some spare time (being locals we do) it's not a bad rate of pay to take advantage of the good offers. (On the other hand, they've pretty much wised up and almost all of them have no interest in locals anymore.)

Considering their recent rashes of "family friendly laws", I wouldn't be surprised.

They're not allowed to engage you directly or something, so they do that to get your attention.

I agree. In fact, I'll be in The Gun Store (new window) again soon (from your pic), either Dec. 14 or 15, to enjoy firing away a few hundred bucks.

It's next to impossible to go more than 5-10 M.P.H. on the strip.
