I totally agree with this article. By the way, has anyone tried Budweiser Light Golden Wheat? It's really quite good.

there's even an advertisement for Dish Network alongside. That ad, however, is not linked to anything.

I get it. To detect whether a site is real or advertising, I should click on the advertising links.

somebody realized that blogging as a medium had seeped into consciousness and become like TV news, had become a trusted source.

Pray for swine flu. It is our only hope.

What the hell is a "fake blog"?

You mean a page that calls itself a blog and is full of meaningless bullshiat and ads?

We already have a word for those, we call them "blogs".

2009-11-11 12:53:37 AM
I think the FTC is about to crack down on this and pay for promotion "blogging"

Oh yes, I agree with you but has anyone tried the new giant slingshot from Acme? My friend, Wile E. Coyote, had some trouble with it at first, but I bought one recently and haven't had any trouble with it at all. In fact, it works great once you get the hang of it. Here's a link (new window) where you can buy one.

'oh, well, i totally think you should check out problogger.'
'really?'
'yeah! with proper tagging, trackbacks and site optimization you can actually make money!'

ah yes, astroturfing: selling a product to a scene or culture as part of pretend participation.

This technique is so old, not even Rick Romero reports on it.

I experienced the full glory of Spam the other day, at a Hawaiian BBQ,

Sliced Spam, grilled and served as a sushi roll, (sticky rice and seaweed wrap, with appropriate sauces)

Surprisingly good.

Used to play Flog off of a tape on the Vic 20. It was a golf game without graphics. Err... It sucked really.

Useful trivia: "flog" is British slang for "sell", often with the connotation of trying too hard to sell something crappy.

/So I'm getting a kick etc.

I drink the other major brand of beer, and I'm somewhat doubtful about Bud Light™ Golden™ Wheat™ being crisp, fresh and satisfying without filling you up. Can you be more specific? Don't make me charge up my laser! Shoop the whoop! LOL.

I would rather have a spam website like that which I can easily ignore because I don't fall for that crap, than spam in my inbox.

Besides, who ever clicks on ads for Acia or weight loss?

I used to think the same thing. But one day I looked in the mirror and couldn't stand it any more. I clicked, skeptically, and read about the amazing health properties of Acai berries. I ordered a package, and the results were more than I hoped for. I'd say more but my hot girlfriend can't get enough of the new me and she's calling me back to bed.

BizarreMan: Besides, who ever clicks on ads for Acia or weight loss?

Freely admitted, for research purposes. Sites like those came in handy during pharmacology- figure out if it were physiologically possible for their claims to be true, how they would work, and how much would be needed to get the desired effect.

It's surprising what you can find- most weight loss/"colon cleanse" meds contain cascara, which can cause bloody stools. Oh yeah, by the way, it's a carcinogen.

I'm sitting here enjoying a nice warm Sausage McMuffin with Egg and drinking a new McCafe coffee and wondering if there's any truth to the rumors that companies would put up blogs to tell you how wonderful their McGriddle breakfast sandwiches taste, or how crispy their Hashbrowns are, or even advertise their Big Breakfast meals that come complete with pancakes, sausage, eggs, and a small orange juice.

Yes, first 6 pack was sunday, second was last night. Both were quite good. And I normally don't care for Wheat beers.

Agreed!
