Sorry, I personally know two people with Ivy League degrees and MBAs from Harvard. They got there on Other People's Money, and are *not* the brightest sparks on the block. They are, however, not-terribly-ethical. One of them is particularly dense, but has an attitude one might describe as 'perky', that seems to work well with senior management.

Anyhoo, I used to value Harvard MBAs. Not anymore.

Well, he had to be doing something to garner such a strong reaction. Did anyone see the entire feed? Could they provide some more information?

I'm content with the sign of weakness; a president is almost an immortal. For example, doesn't it seem odd that Bush and other world leaders clip their toenails, go to the bathroom, get haircuts, masturbate etc?

Then again, I'm very weird. Whatever.

being primped like it's prom night

Whoo Rumbleminz, I don't know what your Prom Date looked like....

Nice unbiased article their Zeno. Is "idiot" common journalistic parlance?

Candypants: OMFG your site is a hoot thanks for the giggle

I know this has been stated before. But, just for emphasis: this isn't an issue because there is anything wrong with Mr. Bush's grooming habits. It is an issue because the White House has made it an issue.

You think the president sniffs his own farts after he lets loose like most men? I'm thinking yes, yes he does.

Candypants:

She was a tender girl whose heart more than made up for the hideous physical defects. However, I do have a soft, humanitarian side those poor souls who have hook-hands, and I didn't want her to feel more isolated than she already was.

2003-03-21 06:12:23 PM
This reminds me of that episode of the Simpson's where Homer was accused of sexually assaulting that girl for the Venus Demilo (or however you spell it) gummy candy. Well, anyway, the media cut up the tape to make it look like he was a crazed sexual maniac.

It was funny.. well, it was.

True gentleman like you are few and far between Rumbleminz.

What Americans don't understand is that Europeans have known this about Bush since he was Governor of Texas. They've always known it

Come on say it. They've always known it because Europeans are divinely instilled with knowledge. Somehow I doubt most Europeans are versed on the beliefs and behaviors of State Governors. Yes, Europeans have an unhealthy obsession with US politics, but it isn't that unhealthy.

2003-03-21 06:14:54 PM
Candypants- I see you fixed your profile. What happened to it before?

Sure he was.

The big deal is not the footage. The footage is as damaging as a reel of drying paint. The big deal is that the whitehouse staff is "outraged" that this was broadcast. What on earth are they trying to hide? That's he isn't a robot?

previos post should have started with "
He was goofing around, and there's only one way to interpret that kind of behaviour just seconds before announcing war on Iraq: the man is an idiot...

What Americans don't understand is that Europeans have known this about Bush since he was Governor of Texas. They've always known it, because it is so absolutely obvious, that the man who dodged military service, who laughs at death penalty pleas for mercy, who didn't know where Iraq was two years ago, is less than a fit leader.

My whole bio vanished Absolutben. I could view it in the edit screen but it wouldn't come up when you viewed it normally.

Anywho I'm getting the hell outta here and heading home, and sadly, I'll be thinking of all the other grossly normal things GW does... He'll only be about 10 miles away from my house this weekend anyway.

"They've always known it because Europeans are divinely instilled with knowledge."

Pure, unadulterated gold. They are beating us in terms of "culture" though.

This situation is somewhat perplexing though; I mean, if it was such a major incident, why in the hell would they draw more attention to it in a public forum? Did he grab the hairdresser's ass?

Godd men giving up their lives for that monkey.

I wouldn't say things like that Sleepy_Giant. Be weary of any sounds of helicopters in the next few hours. The truth will be known, but not without dire consequences, beware! Excuse me, someone just knocked on my door....

I am sure a well groomed hair style will win those anti-war people over

Sheesh. Coddle Saddam but mock Bush for getting his hair styled before going on tv.

Ya know, the way all these anti war people talk, it almost makes me want to cut my hair and get a job. Almost.

Hey, looking less presentable than JFK cost a crook the 1960 presidential election. I just changed my shoes, that's why I'm so convincing right now, Jellyfish.

This link reminds me of the type of coverage Bush has been getting. All Summed up in the following:

The pope comes to visist Bush in D.C, so they decide to go out on the Presidential Yacht to discuss all that is happening while floating down the Potomac. While on the yacht, a gust of wind takes the Pope's hat off, and immediatley the Preseident's guards rush to send a boat to retrieve it.

Bush tells the guards not to worry- as he would retrive it himself. He promptly jumps the rail and walks across the water, picks up the hat, and brings it back to the Pope, much to his amazement and surprise.

The headline in the following day's Washington Post:

"Bush Can't Swim"

Yes.... well said throughout. Thre is only one madman loose with weapons of mass distruction...
And he's busy having his hair done.

I much prefer the way Clinton was 'fluffed' before his on air speeches.

2003-03-21 06:36:42 PM
Well that is pretty much the biggest waste of bytes on a fark server I have seen in a while.

Wooooo - they're....they're....MY GOD THEY'RE BRUSHING HIS HAIR!!!!

I don't like the one bit but thanks to whomever posted this for letting me down so bad. Maybe next week we will get to see him sneeze.

2003-03-21 06:38:34 PM
Is it that he is being primped, or is he being checked for lice?

2003-03-21 06:39:54 PM
At least he didn't call anyone a "major league ass-hole" this time.

Now that he has to remember not to sit in front of a camera pointing at him without assuming it's on, which piece of information will it displace:

* Always assume that the microphone in front of you is on, or

* Always chew your pretzels before swallowing?

I love the man, but gawd, his embarassments are the lamest.

The still makes him look like an animatronic puppet that's been turned off.

"Dick? Can you get some kind of expression on that thing's face? It's seriously creeping me out."

2003-03-21 06:43:13 PM
Well that was a bit lame, but still every time I see a politician giving one of these addresses I can't help thinking of the episode of Yes Prime Minister where Jim Hacker was learning how to do them.

A much funnier TSG video of dubya is here

This standard Republican retort brought to you by the "Let's Bomb Saddam" Society for Frustrated Bastards.

I can't stand that Chimp in Charge as much as anyone without their heads up their butts, but this is no big deal. So the President tries to pretty himself up before a broadcast, big deal. And if he was rehearsing the speech ahead of time, imagine how bad his speeches would be if he didn't prep ahead of time.

Anyhow, a lot of you are joking about Clinton's pre-telecast bjs. I think you guys should stop it- it's actually a damn fine idea. How much do you think Dubya's speeches would improve if he were more relaxed when he has to face the nation? I'm sure I'm not the only one that sees that "deer in a headlights" look when he's trying to address the world.

douches...dont they know thats how people get killed?

I was expecting to hear him say something shocking and raw, which would give him my vote next election.

If that were possible, then along with Mr. Bush, every single news anchor and reporter would have to change their ways.

It's a fact of life; the camera is set up well in advance, the lighting is set up well in advance, then the person who will be on camera sits down, then studio crew touch up their hair, check the makeup, put on their microphone, straighten their collar, etc.

You really can't do it any other way.

2003-03-21 06:52:09 PM
He just looked so...empty..look at his eyes!

2003-03-21 06:52:26 PM
How much work could it take to get his hair to look the way it does?

It must be hard to arrange his hair in a way that it covers the horns.

2003-03-21 07:06:04 PM
The morning after his speech, a Dutch person from another website I go to said he saw footage of Bush laughing and joking. I looked for information about it then, and couldn't find any. Now that it's showing up on the internet like I thought it would, it's that much more believable.

I think it comes down to, Europeans care more about news, while Americans care about entertainment. Faux News for example. Do they actually report news or is it just liberal-bashing?

2003-03-21 07:23:03 PM
If a woman ever touched Saddam's hair, they would shoot her...then rape her. Idiot.

2003-03-21 07:30:34 PM
Fox news takes liberal-bashing disguised as objective journalism to an art form. It really is a spectacle. Last night I was watching and they were giving all these reports about how the war is going so well blah blah blah, then the announcer stopped and said something to the effect, "because we are balanced, we would also like to report on the fact that there are war protestors. (camera goes to war protestors being arrested) Apparently demonstrators, who have this right because of the people that died and bled for those rights, are getting violent. Blah blah blah. My mouth was on the floor. Not only did they show a small section of the protestors in a biased fashion, the ones that the majority of the protestors despise, but they had the audacity to call said skewed reporting "balanced".

2003-03-21 07:34:28 PM
Big deal, not like he's fapping onto pile of "good-luck" pennies.

2003-03-21 07:34:31 PM
I know it's an old joke but I couldn't help but notice how much he looked like Alfred E Neuman.
