Can you just provide a link instead of cutting and pasting your stories? That would be greeeaat.

Also, what is Charlie Daniel's educational background? Arnold Schwarzenegger? Charlton Heston?

We're still waiting to see those WMDs that Saddam has. What is he waiting for? Maybe he doesn't have any?
2003-03-21 05:31:08 PM
And this is different from every other public official in the world how?
2003-03-21 05:31:12 PM
Hielo - don't know if all that is true or not, but damn funny nonetheless.
2003-03-21 05:32:15 PM
Nobody would have paid any attention to this if the White House hadn't vowed a strong retaliatory response for the mistake.
2003-03-21 05:32:22 PM
hmmm can't see why the whitehouse is mad that we saw the president getting his hair fixed and preparing for a speech. If he was getting a BJ, or we saw his metallic endo-skeleton while his skin was peeled back, then yeah that would be bad but this?
2003-03-21 05:33:10 PM
is anyone suggesting that the BBC purposely made GW look like an idiot?
2003-03-21 05:33:42 PM
As one who works in television, I can tell you that only in very rare cases does anybody go on air without being groomed. It just makes sense.

And most of them practice their speeches. It was a little surprising that Bush II practices his speeches. How can they be that lame if he practices?
2003-03-21 05:33:48 PM
Ooooh, he's getting his hair combed.

I was hoping for the summoning of Shub-Nigurath, personally

is anyone suggesting that the BBC purposely made GW look like an idiot?

Do they even need to try?

I managed to drop an f bomb on an open microphone once. Sent me diving across the room to hit the delay button. I had to do it while the producer was in the can.

Kinda funny. I literally vaulted the desk there.

I also did a series of broadcasts with one of the local TV morning legend type guys in another town. He would time himself to make a grand entrance into the room and grab the mic from the floor director just as the camera went live. The camera crew was used to these shennannigans, I freaked the first few times.

Back at the studio, he had to sit on a phone book and a pillow to be at the same height as everyone else. Little feet swinging back and forth...

a c-band dish is a small dinner plate that you can serve toast on, that is made of rubber bands and c-clamps... it's either that or a 10' wire mesh satellite dish.. i can never remember ;)

Brian Springer's entire film, "Spin" can be downloaded here.

Out of 192 countries in the world, 30-45 are "willing" to give "support" in the amount of an email saying "Yeah, we agree with you." And that's just the position of the governments, when it comes to public opinion, only TWO countries in the world back this war: the U.S. (mostly Moron-Americans) and Israel.

The rest of the world sees Bush's America as the Fourth Reich, the real threat to peace in the world, with Blair playing the role of Neville Chamberlain. I'm with the vast majority on this issue. Saddam is a joke, Bush is the real threat to the world. Bush must be stopped.

"In terms of the power he now claims, without significant challenge, George W. Bush is now the closest thing in a long time to dictator of the world." -- Michael Kinsley in todays WaPo.

"It is with great pleasure that I announce that this afternoon Dear Leader was crowned Emperor of the World."-- me, last Tuesday in my blog

Wow, he's making sure he doesn't look like this:

But damn, SpectralTech beat me to it. I can't get to Snopes right now to see if they have the story.
2003-03-21 05:38:12 PM
I never realized that Dubya was a cigarette smoker.

The lines around the lips are a tell-tale sign.

2003-03-21 05:39:07 PM
By the way, Bush has vowed to retaliate for their airing of this video -- that's for the information of any Moron-Americans who think this is just a big yawn.
2003-03-21 05:39:54 PM
gotta see the video called 'Feeds'

I'll post a link later if nobody else does
2003-03-21 05:40:31 PM
that sucked. i was expecting something crazy, like a new reporter's mouth excercises. LAAAME.

GreyAlien? what are you talking about? lines around the lips? the vertical ones? the wrinkles? if so, not specific to smokers.
2003-03-21 05:40:45 PM
The man's a moron. But hey I see nothing damning here. Now perhaps if the sound was on, we could hear GW making a few boneheaded comments.

Otherwise nothing to be ashamed of in this video. The rest of his life, plenty of shame there.
2003-03-21 05:42:47 PM
Come on now... who doesn't prefer a well-groomed Bush?

/runs away

2003-03-21 05:44:20 PM

WOrth it now Freepers?
2003-03-21 05:48:31 PM
JihadJoe / SpectralTech,

Even if there weren't massive backups, Clinton still decided to get a haircut on the plane prior to takeoff and paid $200 for it. Who the f#&%$ pays that much for a haircut???

Merely pointing out the absurdity. No need for anyone to get worked up about this, including the White House staff.

/offbase rant at first, then civility returns
2003-03-21 05:49:45 PM
Would you want to address around 300 million people looking like crap? Didn't think so...
2003-03-21 05:51:18 PM
you mean, his hair is real???
2003-03-21 05:51:26 PM
He better look good. He's about to address the farkin' union.

UHMMM.. I'm Telllliiiiiin...

People get such a hard-on over the simplest things.
2003-03-21 05:51:54 PM
the link abouve is a responce from the white house
2003-03-21 05:52:05 PM
I think he should have given the speech through the window of his Ford F350 Turbo Desil in a cowboy hat and jeans.
2003-03-21 05:53:32 PM
This video reminded me of Hitler doing his little jig after conquering France. Only three differences: 1) This video was real, not fake, 2) France is still free, and God willing, will continue to be, 3) Hitler was elected.
2003-03-21 05:53:59 PM

The only thing that appears missing is the little mustache in the center above his monkey lips, and the prerequisite black arm band emblazoned with that now famous 4 armed symbol.
2003-03-21 05:54:58 PM
It's not the fact that he's having his damn hair combed that is upsetting. It's because he is laughing and joking immediately before declaring war...
2003-03-21 05:55:44 PM
Administration officials are apparently steamed because Bush was seen having his hair primped and readied by a female stylist armed with a comb and hairspray.
So, if it had been a male stylist, would that have been okay? Perhaps the problem was with the comb and hairspray; perhaps a brush and gel would have been more acceptable. pfft - whatever - like I really give a shiat.

I wonder... does Bush have helmet hair?

2003-03-21 05:56:53 PM
Maybe I'm judging this all wrong, but I'd imagine the Smoking Gun's interest is twofold:

*The Bush Admin. got feisty over what was aired, and thus deemed it SG worthy.

*It's almost ironic, and could possibly show weakness. The leader of the most powerful country in the world, about to make a war speech, is being primped like it's prom night. People don't want to see their leader in that light.

Of course, the actual footage may have eluded to his hook-hands.
2003-03-21 05:57:37 PM
Bah, what's the big deal?
2003-03-21 05:57:39 PM

As much as I liked them, screw TSG!!!!
2003-03-21 05:58:18 PM
I'm shocked, amazed, and dumbfounded. An *actual* image of the Bush twins WITHOUT a Zima bottle or a weener in their mouths?? OMFG!!!!
2003-03-21 05:58:48 PM
Better than having a hook-leg ;)
2003-03-21 06:01:41 PM
According to this article it wasn't just the hair bit..

"It was not the combing of his hair, the only aspect of the coverage reported by any American media outlet (the Washington Post in this case), which was cause for embarrassment; everyone expects that. Rather, it was the demeanour - I would say antics - of the president himself."

"Like some class clown trying to get attention from the back of the room, he started mugging for his handlers. His eyes darted back and forth impishly as he cracked faces at others around him. He pumped a fist and self-consciously muttered, "feel good," which was interestingly sanitised into the more mature and assertive, "I'm feeling good" by the same Washington Post."
2003-03-21 06:02:09 PM
It's because he is laughing and joking immediately before declaring war...

*looks at video*
Yes I see, he was joking. We know this because he never smiled, and by the joke that he said that we couldn't hear.
2003-03-21 06:02:30 PM
Is he really laughing and joking before war? I don't see any laughing. I see a picture with a smile on his face, but no video of laughing (of course the servers are not responding to me now.. probably farked out at the moment). Who knows what's being said.. could be one of his aids is trying to shed light on a dark day.

But, hey, let's think the worst. That always get's me through the day. :-P
2003-03-21 06:04:28 PM
oops.. that should be this article
2003-03-21 06:04:45 PM
DUMB*SS Sons of Biatches!! Get a real link!
2003-03-21 06:05:03 PM
Hey, let's waste bandwidth by all saying the same things over and over. "He's getting his hair combed?! Shocking!" 'Cause it wasn't funny the first time, but by the fiftieth I was laaaaaaaaaaughing.
2003-03-21 06:06:16 PM
I will never comb my hair again!
2003-03-21 06:07:16 PM
When I see the word ritual, I expect to see some freakin chicken heads and goat sacrifices, damnit!
