I remember watching Judge Wapner as a kid. Fark me, that was 25 years ago. The dude is 90 years old. I wonder if he still has it together now?

Good question.

He's probably going to hand down a death sentence that day.

Sad, really.

Meh. Bring back "Night Court" instead. Always had a thing for Markie Post.

Will they bring Rusty the bailiff back as well?

Cool news, but I'm surprised the submitter didn't go with the "8500 minutes to Wapner!" headline in the article. You can never go wrong with a Rainman reference, especially when it comes to Judge Wapner.

Only as Zombie Rusty. He passed away in 2002. Did you know that he served as bailiff during the trials of Caryl Chessman and Charles Manson?

Now we just require an immediate headline concerning the present-day whereabouts and activities Valeria Golino and the Rain Man trilogy will be complete.

haha i always wish that show would make it to Hulu i use to really like watching night court as a kid. Plus Dan was always great for some laughs, and I really liked Laroquette's own show that was right after it especially since he gave us this beauty-

Yeah he all there, he was out campaigning for ballot propositions & People in 2008 & played a Judge in some Fox sitcom last year.

I grew up watching The People's Court. I was raised by my grandparents, and old people love Judge Wapner. I hope Doug Llewelen makes an appearance. "Don't take the law into your own hands- YOU take them to court!"

Anyone remember the Animal Court show Wapner & Rusty The Bailiff had on Animal Planet when it was a relatively young network? Loved that show, too.

Subby probably never watched Judge Milian who is not only brilliant, but impassioned and fiery.

Judge Judy is still my fave.

The.... no, that's another story.

I spent an extended amount of time unemployed, and I was amazed at how many of these Judge shows there are. Here's my Sunday morning wrapup.

Judge Judy - The most entertaining, but she's scary as hell.
Judge Mathis - If you have a legitimate claim, he'll give you the fairest hearing. An all-around awesome dude.
Judge Joe Brown - Great for 20 episodes or so, then his schtick gets kind of old.
People's Court - a full hour now, but otherwise uses the same format and music. Kind of bland.
Judge Alex - Boring unless you think he's sexy.
Christina's Court - Total trumped emotional drama. If your case has no merit but might pull on the heart strings, go here.
Judge Karen - I think black women like her.

There are at least three other Judge shows that I forget the name of. One has a gay judge, one has a Cuban judge, and one theater-of-the-absurd judge who doles out unconventional punishments like washing your mouth out with soap.

No matter how blustery, quoteworthy, or high and mighty Judge Judy could get, Judge Wapner can smack her down.

my favorite case of his was the woman who moved in with a guy then sued him for demanding his daily bj.

Wapner asked her if she had agreed to that barter arrangement before moving in. I think she would have killed Wapner if Rusty hadn't been there.

Well, she didn't agree to housing in return for sexual favors. At least according to her. And she didn't kill Judge Wapner but she was seething.

Of course, you realize that Wapner must have been a closet Marxist socialistic fascist, because his show was named The People's Court, just like the People's Republic of China and the People's Republic of North Korea.

If only Fox News had been around back then to uncover this anti-American conspiracy.

They tried Charles Manson on "The People's Court"? That seems like an egregious ratings grab.

Judge Judy - The most entertaining, but she's scary as hell.

Never cared for her.
Judge Mathis - If you have a legitimate claim, he'll give you the fairest hearing. An all-around awesome dude.

Good judge, bad show.

Judge Joe Brown - Great for 20 episodes or so, then his schtick gets kind of old.

caught one episode and that was it.
People's Court - a full hour now, but otherwise uses the same format and music. Kind of bland.

Judge Alex - Boring unless you think he's sexy.
Christina's Court - Total trumped emotional drama. If your case has no merit but might pull on the heart strings, go here.

Never saw these

I saw the Cuban one, she came on after Mathis and my coworkers and I used to guess how many packs a week she smoked. Her voice wasn't quite as deep as Dr. Girlfriend's voice, but it was getting close.

I farking love The People's Court. Judge Marilyn Milian gives me a boner, especially when she spits out a Spanish-language proverb to illustrate the jist of a case.
