God love that lady! Her brass balls should be polished daily by those who attack law enforcement for doing their jobs! If not for her, we will never know what the final damage might have been.

For a woman, mother of two, and of that size, to be so selfless is beyond comprehension, or praise. Even if they go overboard on her heroism, she is to be respected, and honored for her actions.

2009-11-07 12:19:17 AM
She was just doing her job.

What is this, a tipping thread?

I was hearing too, that people with medical training, at the first sound of the shots, headed towards the shots to render whatever first aid they could, and rush people to the hospital.
Their actions probably saved quite a few lives as well.

2009-11-07 12:31:39 AM
First responders do this. It's not any less heroic for being part of the day job, though.

I'll offer Thursday polishing services. Let's cover the whole week.

So...someone remind me again...why don't we have women in all the combat billets in the military?

Oh yeah. That nitwit. He'd rather have me -- who barely hits the side of a barn with a 30-round clip -- protecting him than Sgt. Mighty Mouse in this story.

Came to say this.

This Ovaricious* young lady needs a farking statue built for her.

*Ovaricious: (over-ish-us): pertaining to women with brass ovaries, because silly boys, chicks don't have balls!

I hope a picture of this WOMAN is shown repeatedly and continuously on every TV news show in the Middle East.

(Except in Israel, where she will probably have a battalion unit named after her).

The word is "bodacious".

I know, right? I was unsurprised to read she had been a soldier as well.

Some people are born to do this kind of job. This lady is one example.

If you are really awesome at staying level-headed and shooting the other side in a firefight, I don't see why anything like gender should matter.

2009-11-07 01:12:25 AM
You mean, unlike the cops at Columbine? Sorry, someone has to say it

"Sergeant Munley - a woman with a fierce love of hunting, surfing and other outdoor sports - bolted from her car, yanked her pistol out and shot at Major Hasan. He turned on her and began to fire. She ran toward him, continuing to fire, and both she and Major Hasan went down with several bullet wounds..."

I may have to rethink my comments about Texans. Damn.

Meh, pretty standard. Live fire pistol accuracy drops significantly around 25 ft.

If you're closer than that, point and unload everything.
Farther than that, either run for cover or sprint directly at them.

ScotterOtter: You mean, unlike the cops at Columbine? Sorry, someone has to say it

More people died because the SWAT team there sat around for at least an hour or two because they were cowards who would not do their farking job to justify the extra pay they received. They should have all been fired from the police force before the end of that tragic day.

This little woman in Texas has more guts and bigger balls then the entire SWAT team at Columbine combined.

Yeah, pretty standard. I've been in three shootouts and saved two burning babies already today, No biggy.

Not many of the "Hero" tags here are truly deserved, but this is one of them. Thanks, Sergeant.

Errrr, no. The first thing they teach you about ambushes is to get out of the kill zone.

Props to the woman though.

Yeah, that's right. It's easier to hit a target with a pistol if you are further away.

Good grief. Go back to stocking shelves at Wal-Mart, will you? Stay in the fabric section where you belong.

ScotterOtter: You mean, unlike the cops at Columbine? Sorry, someone has to say it

Actually it is a direct result of Columbine that cops are now trained to act aggressively and without hesitation in active shooter cases. This sergeant had a tremendous amount of courage and did exactly what she was trained to do. My hats off to her.

2009-11-07 01:21:40 AM
tin_man: She was just doing her job.

True. The fact of the matter is, she and her parter were put to the test and they passed with flying colors. Not everyone can say that about themselves. I would like to think I would go the extra mile to help people when I can, but I've never been tested in that way. I hope I never am.

2009-11-07 01:21:47 AM
I heard on the news tonight that she also took three shots: Two to the legs, and one in the hand. As she fell, she kept firing, hitting the shooter four times. A second officer joined in and took him down the rest of the way, with another three or four shots.

The shooter is reported to be paralyzed.

/they should make the urban legend about General Black Jack Pershing a reality on this guy.

You know what irritates the hell out of me?

That subby, and posters her are clueless as to the reality of life.

Do you think the "female" cop here has any more a pair of brass balls as anyone else with balls?

She was in a position to deal with an ugly situation. She did a damn good job. She also is material to be very proud of from a family perspective.

Appreciate she was a small, damn tough person, doing her job for her country, and her community.

She took fire in support of her peers, and those she wanted to protect.

I am proud she is an American.

Huge, brass 'NADS.
(gonads)

Izzat acceptable?
Anatomically correct, short-n-sweet, probably won't upset professional prudes too much...
and one size fits both.

/ S'what I use, anyway...both for description and...er...use.
So to speak...

2009-11-07 01:25:10 AM
Let's not dwell on the fact she emptied her weapon and still didn't kill the sumbiatch. At least she hit him a few times and didn't puss out when she took a few rounds.

That biatch in Seattle couldn't even hit the car that killed her partner.

2009-11-07 01:26:26 AM
Dead shooters can't be interrogated.

This was a potential terrorist situation.

2009-11-07 01:26:51 AM
nickerj1, you know absolutely nothing about handguns, and/or you're trolling in a thread where it's utterly inappropriate.

please shut the fark up, while your betters try to think of adequate praise for the actions of an american heroine.

thank you.

2009-11-07 01:28:22 AM
5'4" or 6'5"...it doesn't matter....this lady saw the situation, took charge, and did her job without consideration for her own personal welfare, and she did it the right way.....she deserves every honor or accolade that could possibly be bestowed upon an officer who acted under fire....I don't give a damn about your politics or who you voted for, this women is a credit to all Americans, she is who we should all strive to be.

/I will polish them on alternating Tuesdays

LordOfThePings: What a nuisance!

Great reference! I LOVE that movie!!

And a BIG dose of respect and admiration to Sgt. Kimberly Denise Munley. Wow. Whether she was "just doing her job" or not, facing down live gunfire in real life is damned impressive.

So... when you set up an ambush on a straight stretch of road, you set up shooters on both sides of the target area, right?

2009-11-07 01:30:09 AM
How is this any different then what Soldiers do everyday?

But this lady is one in a million. I say that because the other million women would have ran the other way.

2009-11-07 01:31:22 AM
Y'all DO know we females don't have balls, right? Oh wait, as most of you have no *first hand* knowledge of a real-live, breathing female...forget I asked that.

So...that whole headline was not only stupid & inaccurate, but sexist as well. But don't let that that stop you on your macho rantings about how you'd have taken him down with just one shot if you'd been there.

And not in your mom's basement.

Playing WoW & eating Cheetos, while trying to figure out a way to pay for your RealDoll and downloading "Pink Parts".

I'm sorry....what were you saying?

I've been around (people shooting at other people) gunfire maybe 3-4 times. I took cover and/or ran away.

/should have immediately started searching containers for weapons and ammo
//and nuka-colas.
