This is pretty petty shiat from Daly. What would he and Chiu do with the mayorship in the three days until MisterMayor is due back?

I take that back. For the sanity of this City, please do not allow Chris Daly anywhere near Suite 200.

"Lawless" is a noun now?

If all politicians were immediately terminated with extreme prejudice the world would be a better place. But, the inhumans could not handle it.

This douche better not become our next governor. We're desperate for some actual leaders these days.

I'm pretty sure the only use a Mayor ever had was to fill you in on the local legend about the monster that drops your next weapon upgrade.

I do and will continue to do so. It is also known as the Harvard comma, the Oxford comma, and the serial comma. Take that! I just used it. It helps to clarify things occasionally. And yeah, I got marked down for using it in my undergrad. journalism classes, my creative writing classes, and legal writing (not undergraduate). Take that! I used it again.

Douchebag McGrandstand should have established his chosen replacement before he left. Supposedly signing the document & disappearing... maybe for Gavin, that's business as usual... but dude shouldn't have bailed on The City like that.

/good thing the other guys running for governator are so much more electable than Gavin, or something...

The problem is that Daly is such a complete ass that even his good moves get overshadowed by his antics. I think he'd have a lot more people on his side if didn't act like such a farking punk all the time.

Daly has always rubbed me the wrong way.

The Blue Angels, Olympic Torch, the fact that he went to Duke, the fact that he moved his family out of the city and into Fairfield, the backing out of running for Mayor, etc.

He is the Glenn Beck of San Francisco. He just wants to oppose Newsom at every turn.

I don't agree. I think he's honestly what he claims to be. I think he's a lot more like Matt Gonzalez than Beck.

I do think he hates Newsom. So do I. And I know that the Tenderloin has improved due to things he's done.

BobNesta420: The problem is that Daly is such a complete ass that even his good moves get overshadowed by his antics. I think he'd have a lot more people on his side if didn't act like such a farking punk all the time.

That is true. I'm a results-based guy, though. It's funny, I was just talking to my favorite tester at work. He's completely hyperbolic-- he'll tell me my build is shiatty and that the design is crap. What he means is that he has a small problem here and another one over here. It's like he can't help it.

But the dude is a machine when it comes to testing. I can rely on him utterly.

I don't really care that much about personality and grandstanding and all that. I don't think it's in anyone's favor, but I don't hold it against them, either. I'm more interested in results.

We need a lot more affordable housing in San Francisco if we're going to remain a real city. Daly is one of the few people who's actually making that happen. He's also doing it in a smart way, by organizing with black churches to take responsibility for new low-income housing units, to try to get people in the community involved.

I don't like a lot of things about him, but to me, his opposition to Newsom is a point in his favor. Newsom has no soul.

I live in SF and am a news geek. I can't wait for the day--

"Gavin who?"

Who cares about these jerks. Paying attention to their antics is so papparazzi. You might laugh at the wacky things the Board of Supervisors and Daly and Ammiano are doing, right up until you buy something in SF and get whacked across the face with the city's 10% sales tax. That composting thing kicks in soon too. My landlord backed out of the garbage agreement in the lease out of fear. I would just like you to look at a pic of SF and think about the impact of keeping stinking containers of rotting food (picture maggots) in an environment that does not look remotely rural.

Composting is already happening. It's fine. That same rotting food was going into the trash before, so what are you talking about?

You are all out of your minds. What is wrong with you? Christ, just look at this (new window). Eeebuntu is even going to the real thing, Debian. You Ubuntu people are moronic for thinking that it is better than what it is based on. Yeah, you like a new version twice a year. How stable is that 9.10 working out for you? Debian actually tests their shiat before releasing it.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy that a bunch of people have jumped to Linux because of Ubuntu and the even more retarded version, LinuxMint. Just you people should really try Linux not made for morons. Honestly, it is not hard. Try either Debian or Gentoo. Hell, even Slackware is easy now. Just give it a go and you will thank me later.

Much obliged!

Shame about Monk getting canceled, though.

An episode with no acting mayor and complete lawlessness and all that would be GREAT.

Even more so than the episode with the garbage strike.

Say what? We've lived in a rental house for close to three years now and have always had and used the green compost bin. We have never had a problem with smells or maggots. I mean, the trash is exactly the same, it's just separated into different containers.

The outsider perspective of San Francisco is so completely bizarre. It's like every Farker's idea of Texas. About 99% wrong.
