Let's check the card: "Always do the opposite of what Dick Morris says..." AHA, we DO need to pass this bill now.

*phew* Good thing I saved it....

How do two governor's races that the Republicans won, two House special elections that the Democrats won, and a referendum on gay marriage have any bearing on moving forward with health care reform?

I mean, holy shiat these were off year elections. Most of the farking country did not even know that there was an election going on this week.

Do these people put broken bits of glass in their underwear so they can maintain an angry disposition and not break out laughing when they say these things ?

I guess in Dick Morris's world, "getting slaughtered" means gaining two seats in the House. By that standard, 2008 must have been a Democratic massacre.

Of course, in Dick Morris's world, Dick Morris isn't a complete waste of toilet paper.

/yes, I know the Republicans gained to governorships
//no, I don't think either of these facts reflect on public opinion of Obama
///but if you insist they do, Congressional representatives would be the better measure

2009-11-05 04:08:08 PM
gaining two house seats = slaughtered. mmmkay.

2009-11-05 04:27:23 PM
They didn't get slaughtered in Congress. They trounced the GOP in Congress. That is, it was a trouncing if the overall elections were a slaughter.

2009-11-05 04:58:36 PM
I saw a guy get pulled over today. he was driving an old Ford pickup with a McCain/Palin bumper sticker.

The GOP has officially been renounced.

The Democratic victory is enormous.

2009-11-05 05:47:20 PM
He's just pissed that there aren't any provisions paying for hookers in the bill.

2009-11-05 06:49:05 PM
In Dick Morris's defense, he is a lying sack of shiat.

2009-11-05 06:49:28 PM
They keep changing the farking bills. Public option is not important? It is important? It's not important? It is?

Ugh.

2009-11-05 06:54:18 PM
I'm pretty sure that subby and I differ on the meaning of the word "slaughter." New Jersey votes out a corrupt and unpopular governor while Virgina chooses not to elect an inept candidate who ran away from his base for the duration of his campaign? In the mean time, Democrats pick up a congressional seat that hasn't gone blue since the days of Lincoln, yet this means the party is collapsing, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are the true leaders of America, and we should all start kneeling at the feet of our Big-C Conservative overlords?

Consider me unimpressed.

Pop quiz! Who gained more seats in Congress on Election Day 09, Democrats or Republicans?

2009-11-05 06:55:09 PM
Isn't breathtaking arrogance simply the usual state of affairs in Congress?

2009-11-05 06:57:50 PM
Slaughter, Dick. I don't think you know what that word means.

qorkfiend: Pop quiz! Who gained more seats in Congress on Election Day 09, Democrats or Republicans?

Pfft. Everyone knows national policy is determined by governors. The influence of Congress is marginal at best.

If Democrats do the opposite of what Dick Morris says, they'll be just fine. Though I will say the Republicans did a great job spinning this week's elections.

They lose two House seats (one of which had been solidly Republican for over 120 years), pick up two governor's races (one to succeed a term-limited governor, one against one of the most unpopular governor in modern New Jersey history), and it's a repudiation of Obama? Puh-lease.

Imagine how well they'd do if Democrats could ever actually act in unison about anything!

"I am not a member of any organized party - I am a Democrat!"

2009-11-05 07:00:08 PM
Let's ask former Governor Sarah Palin how much power those two new Republican governors will have, yes?

Or Governor Mark "No Stimulu- Wait, Legislature Said WHAT?!?!" Sanford.

Or Tim "I Used to be a Schleppy Flake, but Now I'm Mr. Peppy Flake" Pawlenty.

Or Piyush "I Don't Like The Stimulu- Here's a Big Check From Uncle Bob!!" Jindal.

As opposed to the two new Democratic members of the 111th Congress, who will actually be VOTING on the bill.

// shut up Cock Morris, you dick

except for the 5 million people who voted in those local elections.

Remember, in their world the 2004 election results of 50.7% Bush to 48.3% Kerry was a "clear mandate" so this isn't surprising in the least.

I don't make a habit of listening to Dick Morris often (if I did my ears would probably be stained red with blood), but from the rare times I hear him speak I am more and more convinced that he is the most evil, dishonest, man on earth. There is nothing good about who he is or what he stands for.

Dick Morris's breath smells like hooker toes.

I have a question:

Who has ever said "I am going to vote for governor based on what I want to happen in Washington"?

No one I know anyone who ever does that.

You vote congress people to change Washington not governors.

Dick Morris is a hypocritical, lying sack of shiat.

Next.

That he thinks any of his advice is of any use whatsoever is breathtakingly arrogant.

Odd. I seem to remember republicans saying something along the lines of "who cares what democrats think", in regards to the war, shortly after the 04' election.

It's a good thing Bill Clinton didn't take your advice. He would have been a one-term wonder if not for Dick Morris.

I'm a hooker with toes so I'm getting a kick out of these replies...

Just so I can get this straight. Anytime there is a change in the number of Governor/Senate seats/House seats, all bills need to be redone after they have been voted on? That's what I'm seeing written.

Here we go... lets attack the man rather than the ideas. He's not glenn beck where we can just automatically go into adhominem mode the very mention of his name.

i've gotten to know dick pretty well... we've had dinner a bunch of times... we had a few too many once or twice... he came to my last birthday party. His cell phone number is in my cell phone. His wife's too, actually. In other words, I've had the opportunity to dig far deeper into his soul than many of you that only know him from television appearances. He knows history better than anyone I've ever met -- and all my history profs don't even hold a candle.

Attack his ideas all you want -- but attacking the man is really only the sign that you don't really have an issue with the ideas.

//oh wait. This is fark. Never mind. I guess I have to just say I'm really getting a kick...

Well, let's start with "How much of a delusional partisan hack do you have to be to call Tuesday's results a 'slaughter' when the Democrats won as many elections as they lost and actually picked up seats in Congress?"

Hence the "Ass Cream" bit -- Dick's butthurt.

Next time you're at dinner with him, bring your laptop and open it up to this thread.

He's a partisan hack and a liar. Frankly, in DC, hiring a hooker to suck on her toes is positively vanilla, so I really can't fault him for that.

2009-11-05 07:35:24 PM
Dick Morris believes that everyone who voted for any of the winning candidates is nothing but a partisan hack who voted SOLELY for the letter after the candidate's name.

2009-11-05 07:35:25 PM
Governorships don't really mean anything... I mean, come on. Mitt Romney, a republican, won governorship in freaking MASSACHUSETTS a few years back.

Governorships changes are usually because the person in power is not very good, not because of what's happening in congress. Because, well, that's actually logical.

Where people care about what's happening in congress... dems won both seats. And one of the seats was in a very conservative area.
