Paulie from Yonkers just called WFAN to insist Girardi should've stayed off the Cross County and taken the Grand Concourse up to Fordham Road and over to the Hutch.

Yet there will be talk of his job security next year when the Yanks start the season at only 15-7.

I heard Joe and Evan talking about A-Rod helping deliver a baby after the game.

What a self centered douche bag. He couldn't settle for making headlines with a world series win?
He has to steal news space from all those small market story makers who don't have the money to buy headlines?

Asshole.

"Rescue"

Gee, staging drunk driving check points on the roads leaving away from the stadium on World Series night. I'm sure that is just a coincidence.

Loved this from the comments secti9on.
If a Met manager would have done this he wouldhave undoubtedly been run over by another driver.

should have added, "Right into an unassisted triple play."

Isn't the Taconic in Westchester near where the accident occured? If so... um, they kind of have a reason.

That's nothing. Jayson Werth after the post-game interviews took a massive bong rip and impregnated 5 women just by looking at them.

He hadn't been the only Yankees member to pass by the checkpoint. Pitcher Andy Pettitte also passed through earlier.

"He came through with a smile," Cristiano said.

A crazy drunken smile.

They would have tased A-Rod in the butthole. Then A-Rod would have thrown the WS trophy on the ground.

He's not part of your system.

No The taconic is on the western side of westchester. The huch is on the eastern side.

But The Hutchinson PKWY is notorious for police activity. It should be avoided if possible. speed limit is like 50mph and lower in some places. It is a cops wet dream.

DOes this take some of the shine off of Joe Torre? I know they both won with huge payrolls, but they still won.

The Hilalry cUrse is over as she is out of the Senate.

No. Torre knew what he was doing. You just can't win 'em all.

He has improved the Dodgers.

Seriously? I used to blast down that thing going back and forth from Yonkers and Queens... I always thought there would be no police because there are no shoulders anywhere for them to hide.

Girardi for Mayor!

He does look basically stoned to the Bejeezus most of the time. I'm sure he'll clean up nice when the Yankees snatch him up, however.

Good on Girardi, however... most people simply do not give a f*ck.

Reyes would get run down by a Lexus because he stopped to admire his median-hurdling technique.

Tonight, Billy Martin could've driven through a checkpoint guzzling from a bottle of Bushmill's and...well, maybe they would've stopped him.

Mantle, no way.

And the Babe would've pulled over to hand every cop a bottle of bootleg hooch and a box of cigars.

As one of the final trapper keeper moments of the 2009 season, that was definitely a high note to end it on.

He'd be injured getting out of his own car and require a second ambulance come for him as well as the victim he was trying to help.

Seriously, I could believe David Wright would do something like this, but that's it though.

Ty Cobb would have kicked the bejeezus out of every cop and shoved each of their tazers up their respective asses.

I mean, he played for Detroit, of course they wouldn't wave him thru.
