Ahh... yet another RINO who will be right at home with her Dem buddies.

Except she's not going to win, because DeVore is running and he's a real conservative.

Sure, because "real conservatives" do oh so well in statewide races in the People's Republic of California. Good luck with that.

She is IronTom. Big time. I've already written to Rush, Beck, Hannity, and Malkin to sound the alarm on this one.

One look at her website, especially her blog and 'one woman' initiatives, and it's obvious that she's a bleeding heart feminist who can't wait to fork over my tax dollars to poor 'disadvantaged' lazy people who can't be bothered to get a job because, hey, they've got some weed or crack or meth that's not gonna smoke itself buddy!

http://www.carlyfiorina.com/

She's a vile RINO harpie and needs to be off the ballot ASAP. I hope the RNC heads don't back her, she'd be a disaster for the party.

Because she single-handedly destroyed HP. I know this sounds crazy, but HP used to actually crank out some quality hardware. She cranked the "OUTSOURCE...EVERYTHING" dial up to 11 for every part of the company she could, laid off every engineer she could find, then soaked in bonus after blood soaked bonus. Then when it was clear her slash-and-burn business acumen was tanking the company's image in the IT world, she engineered the disastrous Compaq merger.

And when the board finally had enough and tossed her on her ass, they did so with many millions of dollars to cushion her fall.

In conclusion, fark Carly Fiorina.

I read that twunt's book, actually only made it through the first 100 pages when I had to murder a gypsy just reclaim my sanity.

The whole thing seemed to be about how wonderful she was, yet she was so persecuted because she's a woman. Through all the mean-spirited sexism, she succeeded. From birth on, she's been fighting sexism. When that guy blew a load in her mouth and refused to pay... sexism. When that man fired her for letting the company burn... sexism.

When news stories would break about her total failure, it was really just the men trying undermine her awesomeness and womanhood.

When news stories would break about her successes, it was really just her awesomeness and womanhood being recognized over the gnashing of teeth of the sexist men.

The remainder of that book is now in my 'stranded' bag in the car... if I get stuck or stranded, I gotta have something for kindling or toilet paper.

blackminded: she engineered the disastrous Compaq merger.

The best ever is her wanting to get PwC for $18B (This is all IIRC), but they could not agree on terms, so then they got Compaq. Now, they did this so they could go toe to toe with IBM's Global Services, OK fine. The thing is, had the woman been patient with her plans to redesign HP, she could have picked up PwC one year later for around $3.5B. Which is what IBM did. I've no doubt she is a very smart woman, but she did a very poor job at HP.

I heard the clip on the radio from this chick. It was along the lines of "the last thing you do when someone has a spending problem is to give them more money" as a reference to the spending by the federal government. At first glance, that seems like good old fashioned common sense, except the idiots from the GOP think that by taking away income you'll curb spending when you don't have any rules in place about credit card usage. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Fiscal responsibility means an end to credit - make sure every bit of new spending is compensated adequately with additional income. That is how you pay down the debt. Not by lowering taxes and hoping magically government will shrink by the same amount. This chick is just another moran whose "aw shucks" simpleton rhetoric will garner far too many votes and once against show how dumb the average voter is.

I also hate Fiorina, because she was constantly trumpeted by a number of ESL textbooks I used while teaching in Japan. And I read the newspaper, so I knew how crappy HP stuff was when she was running the company. But book after book cites her as "the woman who runs the technology company! Squee!". I hated business English textbooks, and I hated her.

These textbooks also ran puff pieces on Rupert Murdoch. And his family. (But not his current wife. Funny, that. I guess the Asian market wouldn't be thrilled with that particular marriage.) I should start looking at McMillian and Longman to see whose corporate teat they're sucking off.

Yep... I remember the days when HP used to be considered to be one of the best places to work if you were in IT. They were also the preferred system/solution for a lot of company's HW needs.

Then Carly came a'calling...

The organization I was with at the time was one of the largest accounts with HP at the time (several B in yearly purchases). It was a slow degredation that gained momentum around the second year she was running the show. What finally killed things off for us was the outsourcing of technical support, which was in violation of the SLA we had with HP. One of our bigwigs called HP's bigwigs to deal with the issue (after it moved up the chain and various terms which usually land someone in jail were used in the memos).

Apparently Carly's response (through her talking heads) was that if we didn't like it, we could always use Dell.

Now, we don't even use HP printers or scanners.

She's a textbook case on how to take a good company and nearly destroy it.

you know what really pisses me off. This paragraph from the article:
""Let's start with living within our means. The rest of us do. Why not Washington?" she asked. She promised not to support higher taxes until Congress learns to spend responsibly."

Okay. this is NOT that complicated. In order to balance the budget, you have 4 options:
A: Cut Social Security, Medicare or Defense Spending
B: Raise Taxes
C: Some combination of the above
D: Half assed, faked, and probably illegal accounting methods.

basically, unless you're willing to make DRASTIC cuts, you're going to have to raise taxes somewhere. idiot.

How did Barbara Boxer contribute to the collapse of the entire economy? No, that's a serious question. Was she involved in the whole subprime mortgage mess?

2009-11-04 07:18:43 PM
The thing with Fiorina is that she's given so many interviews over the years with glossy magazines oriented towards middle aged career women where she blathers on about how she's had to fight sexism her entire career and how anything negative that she had to face was because of sexism, all framed in ways that she had to know the women reading the articles would identify with, that no criticism of her will register with that demographic. It's not her fault that she destroyed a legendary IT firm, it was the sexism.

/her incompetence makes it harder for competent women to succeed in those industries

Also, I don't think Carly had to try very hard to make HP suck. I am never ever buying another one of their products. I feel stupid to have bought 4 of their printers expecting each one to be improvements of the last, but instead I get black ink smears around text and paper anorexia/bulimia. To their credit, they do print fast, but only after 5 minutes (literally) of "preparing" the print job.

The GOP long ago stopped being the party of smaller government and rugged individualism; it's now the party of mediocre middle aged white folk who blame teh libbyruhls, teh mexicuhns, and teh atheists for their shortcomings. They put Palin front and center, so it's hardly a shock they'd put this failure up to run for Senate.
