I bet he didn't see that coming. Cuz, you know, he blindsides people...Meh, never mind...

according to a Sports Illustrated poll of 296 players released this week...Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis (3.2 percent)

9 out of 296 is 3.0%.
10 out of 296 is 3.4%.

So Ray Ray got 9.5 votes?

I'm sorry...Mr. Ward can't hear you because of the 2 Super Bowl rings clanking together on his fingers.

hey guys, speaking of blind-siding have you seen the ad for this new movie called "blind side?" i bet you haven't because they aren't spending a whole lot on marketing, but it tacitly involves football so i bet all of you would like to see it.

Ha, Harrison still gets votes even after he's retired! I'm half expecting a flag to come flying in the studio when he's doing game analysis with Dungy.

2009-11-04 06:35:11 PM
Vince Young got a vote? That is sort of odd. I watched a lot of his work at Texas, and I generally catch a Titans game if I get a chance... but what has he done to qualify for that?

2009-11-04 06:35:20 PM
The only reason Ward got the most votes is because Ray Lewis tackled half the people in the poll line into unconsciousness.

/then he killed their wives
//go Steelers

He kills it on my fantasy team on a near weekly basis!

But Hines Ward is so CLASSY!!!

InferiousX: No Flozell Adams? I demand a recount.

I don't think that he can be considered the dirtiest since he gets caught all the time, and is absolutely no good at hiding his numerous infractions.

Further, the situations he is in where he has played "dirty" were because he was trying to compensate for his own spectacular failure, not because he wants to directly injure someone.

VY probably voted for himself, in a fit of self-loathing and depression.

Speaking of Flozell, he was the recipient of one of the most blatant cheap shots ever. Damn, I can't remember who it was they were playing, but several years ago, after the play was over, some lineman just dropped to a knee and cockpunched Flozell and was never flagged. The network showed it on replay.
Anyone remember this?

296 voters and Hines got 11%. Comes out to 32. That's roughly one vote from every corner who is pissed that Hines will put you on your ass if you don't pay attention. Of course they prefer the prima donnas who casually jog 5 yards down the field on running plays - who wouldn't?

Hines got 11 so that sounds about right

Hines Ward voted "dirtiest player" by other NFL players, since he's blind-sided about a third of them Rodney Harrison retired.

Really? The guy who either holds, trips, facemasks or leg whips on every farking down that he's on the field took a cheap shot? Shocking, I say. That's like defending the NYPD because Abner Louima got a punch in.

No, the reason why is because there are a bunch of big nancy boys in the NFL that can't handle the fact that a dinky ex-quarterback pancaked them. Getting beat down by Murderin' Ray is acceptable, because he's a big, nasty linebacker. Getting smacked around by the kid you used to pick on for being too small in grade school is entirely different.

In other words...

How easily people forget Albert Haynesworth stomping Andre Gurode's head just a couple of years ago. A 300lb man, STOMPED another man's bare head with cleats on. For absolutely no reason other than he was there to do it. Much like the recent eye-gouging incident in college ball, I can't believe it was any more than pure psychosis.

Hines Ward is a good receiver. But yeah, he's dirty as hell. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that he's physical and loves to hit -- that's very admirable in my book. But Ward blind-sides people that aren't even remotely near the play for the pure enjoyment of hurting them (I can think of no other reason).

Yes it's a man's game. But men have something called honor and integrity. Someone that purposely attempts to injure another when they're defenseless is not a man... he's a coward. So yeah, Hines Ward is dirty.

/Adrian Peterson, in true Walter Payton fashion, punishing someone who is about to tackle him is how a man plays the game.

That is what I loved about Walter Payton. . .he never ran out of bounds. Shoulder down into your chest is the way the game should be played!

Fark that, I can't forget it. He's number one in my book. The strange thing is that afterward, they look at the play and honestly wonder "what the hell was I thinking?" Game does some crazy shiat to you, but definitely Haynesworth tops the list.

/I have tried, but I just don't see the Hines is a dirty player angle. He plays hard-nosed and blocks downfield. I'd start my franchise with him.

It just that some people on this planet believe that the manner by which a result is achieved is often as important as the result itself. This is why so many people think the Patriots should have an asterisks above their recent Super Bowl wins -- and also why Barry Bonds' record is similarly blemished.

And I understand Ends-Only people will never understand this argument -- but I like to try sometimes.

I think it was because he had been getting tossed aside like a used condom for the better part of the game up until that point.
