Considering the Israelis would claim the ship contained Iranian weapons for Hezbollah whether or not the ship actually did it's probably best to just ignore Israeli claims.

Israel is always considered the bad guy, no matter what the circumstances. They could capture a terrorist doll bomb factory with banners saying "let's kill more Jews" on live tv and you would refuse to believe it.

The W school of World politics, where its good guys and bad guys, just like in the movies. Yeah, that worked out well.

In the new issue of Nat Geo, the president of Syria, an ophthalmologist who studied in the UK, says openly they give arms to Hezbollah. Whatever your feeling about Israel, supplying Hezbollah with RPGs is not the right way to accomplish anything good.

but but but hezbollah is a PEACE organization. Israel set them up!!11

I can't wait for the flood of Hezbollah apologists. This should be a good thread.

Monster weapons to give to half-retarded, religiously fanatic teenagers who will use them to run around screaming, spraying bullets and hitting nothing until someone puts a neat bullet between his eyes.

FTFA

"The Israeli military said an Iranian document was found on board, showing that the arms shipment originated from Iran, although the paper was not shown to reporters."

But then:

"Israeli military officials said the ship's journey started in Iran, and it arrived a week ago in Beirut. The next stop was Damietta, Egypt, where the weapons were loaded, they said."

Something's fishy.

R.A.Danny: A country the size of New Jersey vs the Arab world?

Oh come on, for real? you think that money and high tech military power have nothing to do with this and it is all a physical size issue?

Do not fool yourself, Israel is the big guy in this, and Israle has the "if you pick on me I will get my big buddy to beat you up" defence, so while they may be a small nation, it is silly to think that they are not the predomenent military power in the area.

So short they need to stand on the chair.

That's nice. Did anyone intercept the Israeli's shipments of far more advanced flowers and unicorns used primarily to terrorize an apartheid population forced into a slum?

You think a nation's military power is in any way related to the number of square meters within it's borders? If that's the case, then the UK would like a word with you.
