Well, I'm a regular visitor to Milwaukee, but it has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century. It's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

What the hell are you talking about?

And it's the Bucks. I don't see how anybody could be surprised by this. It's not even really that uncommon in the NBA for teams to rally from late double-digit deficits to win.

Bulls looked awful. 29 points in the first HALF?! They won't win too much this year if they keep shooting 40% from the field and 22% from behind the line. Looks like they are missing BG more than I thought.

Scott Skiles is going to wring Brandon Jennings neck before the end of the season.

I'm laughing, but last night my team blew a 16 point lead late in the game to the Mavs.

Stupid Dirk Nowitzki scoring 29 points in the 4th quarter.

This is what makes the Bobcats unusual. They managed to blow an 18 point lead in the G!@&*#!@ FOURTH QUARTER FOR @!!^*@# SAKE, and still manage to take the game into a second overtime and squeak by with a win. You can't teach that kinda stupid.

I find it funny how little most WI people care about the bucks considering the incredible devotion residents of this state have to the Badgers, brewers, and packers.

Hell I think the Admirals rate higher than the bucks.

I thought everyone knew that NBA games arent played until the 4th quarter anyway (at least until the finals)

2009-11-04 02:15:54 PM
An 18 point 3rd quarter lead isn't exactly what I'd call "insurmountable" in the NBA, subby. Hell, it would be barely considered insurmountable in the NFL.

2009-11-04 02:20:16 PM
The Bucks are a very good professional basketball team. Not many ballclubs can match the two-headed monster of Alcindor and Robertson.

This is why I advocate moving them to Seattle, that and the fact that Bogut and Lauren Jackson in the same city might bring more NBA marketing and money from Australia. Which reminds me, if Key Arena was such a dump, how has the Bradley Center escaped any scrutiny? Kohl stopped caring a while ago it seems. He'd be further ahead to hire someone like Bill Simmons as GM; as opposed to the current occupant who insists he can spend up to the cap (sure, sure you can). The sad part is even if they played out of their heads they couldn't place better than 3rd or 4th in the division.

I, for one, am simply amazed that such a deep Bucks team with such an awesome amount of firepower in their starting lineup could lose in this way. I'm sure opposing coaches are having absolute fits trying to contain the threat of Carlos Delfino, and are hastily drawing up complicated defensive schemes for the inevitable game-changer that is Luc Richard Mbah a Moute coming screaming off the bench.

I am loving watching my Rockets this season. No MeMac and though I admit Yao is an outstanding player, he doesn't fit the team they have. The team they are playing with is surely outgunned by some teams, but there is not a team out there more fun to watch, especially with Trevor Ariza added to the mix. The guys they have play hard and it's great team basketball. Who else could be 3-1 with a starting center that's only 6'-6". I wish they still had Von Wafer. He was wildly inconsistent and took terrible shots, but when he was on he was fun to watch.

I don't think the Bulls miss Ben Gordan that much. John Salmons basically fills the void of hoisting up bad shots in traffic. While the downside is Salmons can't get those horrible shots to fall as often as BG, he makes up for it by being a bigger, better defender.

Tyrus should be gone. He's the basketball equivalent of a million dollar arm and a ten-cent brain. He may be able to salvage something of a career with a patient teaching coach who can keep him on the bench until he harnesses his athletic talents into something resembling basketball skills. I don't think Vinny can teach big-man skills.

My biggest hope is squeaking in to the playoffs, but I fear they won't get there.

The Bucks are still a mess, but Jennings looks very, very good so far. He's a keeper, although I'm sure he'll run screaming out of town as soon as the opportunity rises.

BTW, anybody still think the Celtics are old and slow? Anyone?

I have a real problem with certain noises. I've never been bothered by the shoe squeaking but the sound of typing, especailly in tv commercials, drives me crazy. To the point where I'll mute the tv during the commercial or flip the channel. I'll watch the Celts tonight and see if the squeaking becomes problematic for me.

You know what, screw it. I'm 35 miles from Milwaukee. Seattle. You want an NBA team? Have ours. You'll get your NBA back, we'll get an excuse to vote out Herb Kohl.

Granted, I live in Florida, but the Milwaukee Bucks have to be the most forgettable franchise of the big three sports. They get absolutely zero press coverage nationwide. None. I can name almost the entire Utah Jazz roster from 1999 but can name probably ten Bucks - Jabbar, Oscar Robertson (?), Jack Sikma, Terrell Brandon, Glen Robinson, Vin Baker, Popeye Jones(?), Loy Vaught....well, maybe not even ten.

2009-11-04 03:32:53 PM
Ha! Sam Cassell, Ervin Johnson, and Ray Allen. Eleven.

Yeah, I know no one cares, but I just wanted to.

Uh, the Jazz had a 16 point lead with 8 minutes remaining in their game last night against the Mavs... and they lost by 11. Why is this article important?

In WI it goes as follows for sports devotion

1. Packers
2. Badgers football
3a. Badger Men's basketball
3b. Brewers
4. Marquette Basketball
5. Badgers Hockey
6. Any minor league football/baseball/hockey in that town
7. Bucks

I honestly may think the bucks are too high since there are some other D-1 schools in the state that pull more attention
