Wow, that's really cool of Hyundai, I really don't care if it's marketing or not. Better than Toyota fake stalking a girl.

OK, Good on Hyundai for giving the guy a new car, but if this dumbass could afford a BMW SUV, AND she drove away from the scene of the accident (don't know about Canada, but here that's a reasonably major offense), did she not have insurance?

Know the difference between a porcupine and a BMW?

"Not News: Man's Hyundai flattened by woman trying to park SUV."

maybe where i live is just weird, but if someone who was trying to park managed to crush two other cars in her attempt, we would probably consider it news.

Hyundais lately are actually pretty good cars. I have a friend that drives one, he loves it, and I had one as a rental for a few days, and it was fantastic.

When they started, yeah, POS. I knew someone that wrecked an Accent by driving into their driveway too fast.

2009-11-02 10:33:58 PM
Hyundais have actually been getting better over the years. My 2004 Elantra still drives great. Now K.I.A, I have no idea. i would imagine they have been getting better since they are the same company, but I won't hold my breath.

Anyone who thinks that has no idea what they are talking about. Hyundai has really sprinted head in terms of quality and finish of their vehicles.

If you are looking at a smaller inexpensive car, don't dismiss Hyundai.

This actually is a decent commercial for BMW as well. That's fairly impressive how it just crawled on top of the vehicle.

Kudos to Hyundai. They were under no obligation to replace the car since it wasn't their fault it was destroyed, but they did so. I highly doubt any other car company would do that.

Well, back in the 1980's and 1990's their personal computers were shiat. I don't have any direct experience with their cars so I can't say anything about them.

What?

No monster truck?

Has Hyundai even SEEN Road House?

Brad Wesley won as long as he used his monster truck to accomplish his goals.

Without the monster truck? He and his goons were toast.

The moral of this story?

BUY HIM A MONSTER TRUCK, HYUNDAI

I had Hyundai ram in one of my computers. It was ok, but then again my expectations of '96 computers were low.

+1 on the "they used to be shiat, but now they're pretty decent."

I'm still not convinced I'd spend money on one (I'm not too fond of their design direction and the local Hyundai dealer is an asshat), but from what I can tell the overall reliability is no worse than anybody else.

Brought a Elantra after getting multiple recommendations from co-workers about them.It also didn't hurt they were the cheapest of the cars I was looking at too. Cars runs great even though I've dinged it up a bit.

And the genius is, now he can collect on HER insurance, get $ for totaling his old car, AND he's got a free new car!

Go Directly to Stage 3: Profit!

Hyundai: if your car is humorously totaled in an Internet video, we'll replace it with a new one- free! That's the Hyundai guarantee.

I worked retail back then. The damned Hyundai PCs were the worst products we sold. Finicky little bastards with funky versions of DOS. Generic IBM or Microsoft DOS wouldn't boot those things. They were also one of the first brands to switch to Conner IDE drives, which was not a good thing as Conner was having serious quality issues back then.

But this has nothing to do with their cars...

I bought my Elantra new back in 2004 and it's gotten me over 100,000 miles without any major problems aside from a new battery and replacement serpentine belt. It's comfortable, easy to work on, can hold plenty of stuff, blah blah blah I love my car.

Everything I've heard from friends/family that have them has been positive. I have no personal experience with Hyundai except for realizing the catchy tune in one of their commercials a few years ago was Thick as Brick by Jethro Tull. That was amusing.

I'd say Hyundai has the right to take the BMW SUV from that dumbass woman who didn't think she'd get caught, tell her she won't get it back until she pays for the NEW Hyundai plus the other car she rolled on, then take her to the local scrapyard and force her to watch her beloved SUV get the compact treatment.

I drive an '05 Hyundai Sonata. I highly recommend Hyundais.

I also have a Kia van. It is a nice vehicle also. The alternator died while under warranty. I nursed it back home and call their 800 number. Within an hour they had a tow truck at my house to take the van to the dealer. Three hours later the van was repaired and on the road.

Hyundais were a pretty new thing (at least in this country) when I was in high school. My girlfriend's dad had one. It was the second biggest POS car under 20-years-old that I've been in. Last year a friend of a friend bought a brand new Hyundai and it's pretty nice. I also rented one recently. They didn't have the car I reserved so they bumped me up to the next tier and it was a Hyundai. I drove it for 3 days in a variety of conditions and it was enough to really make me reconsider the brand.
