Funny how after MJ's death it's considered cool to spontaneously break out the Thriller dance. Prior to a few months ago it would have been uber-lame.

Gonna have to disagree... happens at weddings all the time, and happened all the time before MJ died.

Agreed, my friend is an emotional goofball (eccentric? meh), and I'm an OCD, egotistical, antagonistic son of a biatch.

Jedekai: HE MOONWALKED IN HOCKEY SKATES! THOSE THINGS ARE FLATTER THAN THE OLSEN TWINS!

It would be easier in figure skates, I think, but you do want slippery shoes.

I think you've mixed up hockey and figure skating or baseball.

First, it's a Finnish goalie, so that doesn't count as real hockey. Second, it's the lamest dance ever.

Yeah we all know everyone in Washington hates Ovechkin. They're probably going to sell more tickets now that's he injured.

Thriller was made prior to Jackson's effort to change himself into a white woman and molest countless boys. In that respect, it's probably the one "monumental" thing he's done that isn't tainted by his later actions, and as it's cool, because it's "retro". It can be overdone... but hardly over that line yet; that idiotic Beyonce dance thing has been far more overdone than Thriller dance.

I'm not a particular fan of anything Jackson made, but stepping aside to be objective, Thriller is a memorable bit that's embedded itself into our global culture... and as a workout for a goalie, whatever else you might say... it does work.

He did the "Thriller" dance? All 13 minutes of it? He had zombies and stuff? What the hell is the "Thriller" dance?

Jedekai: HE MOONWALKED IN HOCKEY SKATES! THOSE THINGS ARE FLATTER THAN THE OLSEN TWINS!

Oh, he did the Moonwalk, why didn't subby just say so?

Is the use of "uber" supposed to be ironic when talking about things that are lame?

It's been growing and growing -- there have been hundreds of Thriller videos on youtube the last few years.
Wedding parties doing a choreographed dance.
A whole mob of hundreds of Indian workers doing the dance.
Last year it was a big thing for high school marching bands to do the Thriller dance.
I'm not sure if his death increased the popularity or not.

A Rugby League player would have just tackled the bastard, slit his throat with his own skates and after writing in the ice 'he is not my son' in blood, would go after the piss poor audience.

What? Ive seen the NZ All Blacks - the entire team mind you - perform dance routines prior to rugby matches.
